Yes, online filer. Online status changed on the 24, that day I could download the oath ceremony letter online.

How long has it taken people for the oath to be scheduled? I had my interview on early Wednesday and the IO said that she should be able to update my case by Friday. Hoping that I get an update today, but wasn't sure what has happened recently with other cases.
My interview was 7/11 and my oath ceremony will be 7/31. I haven't received the notification in the mail yet, but I can see it online.

It went well. I was called in 20 minutes late. My IO was very nice, we had some good casual conversations. She'd only been doing interviews for 8 weeks, so she was still learning the ropes. The questions I got were some of the easier ones, I didn't have to name anybody. We also went through the 50 questions in the application one by one, and made a few modifications to the application to account for new trips and so on. The whole thing took about 30 minutes.
Now time to wait again. I hope the oath ceremony is scheduled soon.

I have my interview on July 25th and travel on August 25th....really can't afford to wait to have oath 1 month later. If anyone can share recent experiences, it would be much appreciated!
I had mine today and the IO told me they are not doing same day ceremonies right now. She didn't know why.

I finally got the notification for the interview. 10 months from filing to interview. Here are the details:
- Filed online on 9/10/17
- Did a walk-in biometrics on 9/22/17, case status was updated.
- Case status did not change at all after that, I was never put in line for interview.
- Date of email notification: 6/7/18
- Date notification arrived in the mail: 6/11/18
- Date of interview: 7/11/18

Happy New Year patient Denver filers,
My case has been stuck in "We reviewed your biometrics" for almost three and half months now, so I'm still waiting for the inline interview date. I haven't had any issues with background checks before, so I have no idea what's going on.
I'm going to try to talk to Tier 2 this week, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I've come across some threads with people equally lost in a similar situation, but I want to make sure -to the extent possible- that there isn't anything I can do help move this forward.
Anyhow, regards to all, hopefully 2018 brings faster processing times to Denver.

Hey guys,
I'm an online September '17 filer, and I was for a moment naively considering my options if the interview was scheduled before Christmas, but I guess that's not going to happen. I just went through this thread and it's not very encouraging to be honest. I'm keeping some of my hopes up for a shorter schedule though, since it seems online filers are getting lucky in other locations.
Also, the timeline aggregation tool doesn't have an online option. One August online filer (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=161138) selected the blank service center option, so I guess we can work with that, but it would be helpful to have the online option in the dropdown list. Not sure who can help us get that done.
I've updated my timeline now and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Good luck to you all!

You always have a choice of filing status when you are married. You can either file Married Filing Separately or Married Filing Jointly or in some cases as Head of Household. The key point for you is whether you are considered as a nonresident alien or resident alien for Federal income tax purposes for 2013. The normal tests for determining whether you are resident alien or nonresident alien are the Green Card Test and the Substantial Presence Test.
You did not have a Green Card during 2013 so you do not meet that test.
The Substantial Presence test requires that you have been in the U.S. 31 days during 2013 and a combined weighted 183 days for 2013, 2012, and 2011. Based on your timeline, I assumed that you have only been in the U.S.since you came in on your K-1 visa on 7-27-2013. You meet the requirement for 31 days in 2013 but do not meet the requirement for a weighted 183 days in 2011 through 2013.
In your case there is a special election that you and your spouse can make to treat you as a resident alien for tax purposes for 2013. If you make that election then you are taxed on your worldwide income and you and your spouse would probably elect to use the foreign earned income exclusion.
If you don't make the election to be treated as a Resident Alien then you will file as Married Filing Separately and only report the income you earned while living and working in the U.S.
There are two IRS publications that you can read to hopefully get a better understanding of the Federal income tax law as it applies to you for 2013. They are Publication 519 - U.S. Tax Guide for Aliens and Publication 54 - Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad.
In Publication 519 you will find a discussion of determining whether or not you are a Resident Alien or Nonresident Alien for 2013. This discussion starts on page 3 and includes a discussion of the Green Card Test and Substantial Presence Test. The election to treat you as a Resident Alien is discussed on page 9 in the section labeled Nonresident Spouse Treated as a Resident. Are you planning on making the election to treat yourself as a resident alien for 2013 so that you can file a joint return with your wife? How you decide to file affects what needs to be reported on the return.
You make it sound like I have an option. Is it because I was in the US for less than 180 days during 2013? I've come across that number before. If it's up to me, how do I know what's more convenient?
Do you know of any online resources where this is well explained, in the way that all the visa stuff is so well explained here at VJ?

Apologies if this exact topic has been discussed before, I searched around a bit and didn't find anything conclusive. I also want to mention that I'm more than happy to hire some local CPA to help me with this. I live in Denver, CO.
This is my situation:
Me: legal permanent resident, landed in the US last August. While I was sorting out my immigration paperwork I worked remotely for a company overseas until the end of January of 2014. They paid me in euros that went to my overseas account and I paid my corresponding taxes there.
My wife: US citizen, she was out with me overseas until we moved to the US in August. She was then hired as a contractor and got a few paychecks during 2013. She hasn't paid any taxes yet.
That's it. I don't even know if I'm supposed to report my foreign income. I just want to do the right thing and get taxes sorted out for both my wife and I.
Any suggestions or general advice on how to proceed?

Got the GC in the mail on March 10th.
To be honest receiving the EAD combo card was more special because it allowed me to work and travel. This new card just makes things more official I guess.
Anyway. I can rest now for almost 2 years.
Congrats to all the others that got theirs and patience to those who are still waiting.

And I have one more update:
I went to the Department of Revenue as indicated by the SAVE appointment letter above and got verified on the spot, so I didn't have to wait for a letter in the mail and could renew my license on the same day, in the same place. I should have asked if this is common or why it happened but I didn't, sorry. Maybe the type of visa (K-1), the fact I was verified with the I-94 before and already had a license, I'm not sure, but it was really helpful to be able to sort everything out on the same morning.
Now I have a 1 year license, expiring when my EAD expires.
Green card will be next!
PS. I wasn't asked for any of the photo copies or the envelope, just had to show expired license and EAD.

Pat yourselves on the back for successfully coming to this country and then submitting another mountain of paper, documents, and a wad o' cash in order to become Permanent Residents.I cannot believe that it has been over one year since we initially filed out the AOS paperwork in August 2012. My wife and stepson received their Green Cards right after Thanksgiving 2012. Hopefully your Green Cards will arrive soon.
The 21-month vacation away from USCIS is wonderful. You will get your chance soon.

I can't edit the original post anymore, but there's an update to add to it.
I got the EAD card yesterday and went to the DMV to get my license renewed, since it expired on the day my I-94 expired. I was only asked for the EAD and my expired license but... they couldn't process it. A very helpful man informed me that because my status has changed, the previous SAVE confirmation is not valid anymore, and the process has to be done again. Although, this time, it's not the DMV who looks me up on the SAVE database. This time I have to go, in person, to one of the main DMV offices with a form they gave me. I'm attaching a pic of the form in question. It was disappointing to walk out of there without a license but oh well...
