  1. We stayed at the La Quinta Inn and it met our needs perfectly. The rooms are built and decorated exactly as you would expect to find in any US location. We had a king bed (very comfortable mattress) and a desk/table in the room where we could plan the day, go over paper work, and eat dinner, among other things. We felt being a bit further away from the consulate would make for quieter nights and better sleep. They do serve breakfast and have a shuttle, but it runs all day long and not always to your schedule. We just took a short cab ride when we needed and it worked out fine. Also, Walmart is close, just a few blocks away, and we made a run there for some room snacks and ordered pizza delivery. The way we saw it, the money we saved from not going out to eat every night paid for all the taxi fares in the day.

  2. You'll be in our footsteps. We leave for Juarez tomorrow morning for our Tuesday interview. I thought to myself it was a bad time to visiting US Consulate buildings anywhere in the world but I had no idea the news would be so close to home. Without a doubt, there is no reason I would ever be in Juarez if the US did this Visa processing in Tijuana, Monterrey, and/or Mexico City.
