Octagon got a reaction from Allnamesweretaken in Certificate of Citizenship on an IR2 visa
Hi, when my son arrived,  I did not pay for the green card fee of $165 instead I applied for the passport right away and he got issued a US passport. But the USCIS sent us 2 notices asking for the green card payment. So to avoid future hassles, I paid it and after few weeks we got the greencard by mail. On December 2016, before the fees went up from $600 to almost double, I applied for N600 just to have a peace of mind. It has been 3 months since and we only got the NOA that they have received it. It is said that it takes 6 months to process. My son wants to go home to visit but I said he got to wait because he might be called soon for the oath. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions. Have a great day.

I share your frustration,,,I really do,,what they are doing is immoral and somewhat illegal,,I paid for a service and they are not providing it,,,
they are posting false information on their website. I doubt that any American staff member even knows about this,,,,this is the kind of thing that happens in 3rd world governments.
I would expect a little more professionalism from am AMERICAN embassy.
Tomorrow I will start drafting emails..... thats really my only recourse,,demanding that my case be rescheduled,,,
I still have faith that the incompetant fools running the immigration section will figure this out,,legally they really have to,,but it may take several more days unfortunately
NO excuse for not updating the site,,,,or maybe they were too busy intrviewing the ones who couldnt follow directions and went anyway,,,,hmmmmm

Hi, just newly registered here. You know what made me decide to join is I want to give my admiration of your pure intentions and strong willed personality to pursue your desire to petition though the kids are not your own. I can relate the feeling. I also admire one person who married a Filipina (that is me) because of his desire that the latter will see her kids back home. I salute to this person and to you woman. There are few people around this world who has such a good heart. God bless you more and to the person who became my husband. May we all prosper and I also desire that my kids will be here soon. He petitioned the kids as his stepchildren after I got married to him last year. We are on the process of the DS-3032 and paid the Affidavit of Support Fee. Looking at the forums, with God's help my kids will be here by May or June. Looking forward to it and hope everything comes out well too.

This is a great story, I hope you have a great life together. I may have understood something wrong but it seems like the kids aren't here yet... I'm normally an optimist but I will not be jumping up and down until my fiance passes through immigrations. Unfortunately until the person is a citizen there is always a risk of being denied at POE. It sounds great that you went forward anyway and I know Nigeria is a tougher country for immigration, but it doesn't sound like your journey is quite over yet. Maybe I misunderstood either way I wish you the best luck, it's nice to see you are doing the right thing and I'm sure the kids are super excited.

I did it for the family. In a few weeks it will be 7 years since my husband has seen his kids. That's almost half of one of the boys' life and OVER half of the other boys' life. omg, could you imagine? That scene at the airport, when the boys finally get here, is going to be a hot mess! LOL I picture lots of tears and rolling around on the floor and craziness! NIGERIANS DOWN! NIGERIANS DOWN! Clean up on aisle 7!!!
