  1. Good day! Just wondering if anyone had their oath at Newark, New Jersey? My son's oath is on Saturday (May 20).  I thought they do not open on a Saturday. The time on the letter says 730 in the morning. Do they start right away? How many oaths in a day and the time slots? Anyone please share your experience please. I highly appreciate it. Thanks

Thank you for replying Octagon, i didnt pay for the immigrant fee and N600. I want to know if what will be the problem in the future if Im not gonna pay for the fee. They have US passport, can they travel outside the US and come back without any hassle? Is there someone here with the same case as mine? Please help. Thank you☺️

Sorry but I have no idea if what problems are gonna be in the future if you do not pay the Immigrant Fee. I suggest (only my opinion) just pay for the $165 for now and wait for the greencard in the mail and I am sure the kids can travel without hassles. The N600, you can do that at a later time. My son wants to go home before his oath for citizenship. If he really opt so, I would just have him present his greencard to the immigration. He still have his Philippine passport valid. If they ask him if he has a US passport, he may show it too. That is only my plan if he really wants to go soon. I hope I have helped you in my own little way. And maybe some other members can help you out with your situation. Goodluck!

Hi! I just want know the update on your son. So when he enters the US did you pay for immigrant fee which is $165 and did you also file for N600 Certificate of Citizenship?  I have the same case, my 2 daughters entered the US August 2015 under IR2 visa, after entering the US I went to the local USCIS and asks the next step, the IO from the booth told me that I can just apply them a passport and it is cheaper that way. So I followed his instruction and got a passport but I went to back to the USCIS like this year and officer told me that they are still permanent residence status. That I need to pay for green card fee and N600 to update their system. Did your son travel back to the Philippines and did he encounter a problem when going back in the US? Please I need help..Thank you.

Hi, when my son arrived,  I did not pay for the green card fee of $165 instead I applied for the passport right away and he got issued a US passport. But the USCIS sent us 2 notices asking for the green card payment. So to avoid future hassles, I paid it and after few weeks we got the greencard by mail. On December 2016, before the fees went up from $600 to almost double, I applied for N600 just to have a peace of mind. It has been 3 months since and we only got the NOA that they have received it. It is said that it takes 6 months to process. My son wants to go home to visit but I said he got to wait because he might be called soon for the oath. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions. Have a great day.

  4. This is my sister's case. If anybody has thesame case as hers, i would greatly appreciate. We are so desperately in need of help.

In April 12, 2010, i was refused entry to states for violating Sec 212(a)(6)©(I) of INA where I obtained a fraudulent backdate stamp in my passport to conceal my prior overstay. You sought to procure, or have procured a visa or entry into the United States by fraud or by the willful misrepresentation of a material fact. For this reason, my visa was cancelled and I was banned for 5 years. Six years later, my eldest daughter petitioned me for an immigrant visa and I was made to undergo medical exam last July 2016 and underwent for an interview last Oct 2, 2016. Unfortunately, the consul did not issue an immigrant visa (IR5) for the same reason cited above.

    FACTS:

    Allowed Overstay

    5th visit to US: Nov 20, 2006 to Mar 11, 2008 6 mos 10 mos.

  6. NLR, he gets temporary greencard? When is he getting it? You mean few weeks after his arrival? And what do you mean he has to stay 5 years in the US inorder to pass the citizenship to his children. He has to stay straight 5 years? Because he is going to come here then maybe few months he will go back to my country Philippines to study college since it us cheaper there than here but he will be coming home for the summer when he is off from school there.

  7. Good day everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the season as we are here in the east coast. My question is regarding my son who got approved for an IR2 visa in the Philippines. He will be coming sometime on August and his 18th birthday is end of October this year. I got my ctizenship (being married to US citizen) on June of this year, took an oath thesame day and got my Cert of NaturaliZation. My son is my legitimate son from my previous marriage. Will he be able to become automatic citizen when he arrives here? It is like he is arriving 2 months prior to his 18th birthday. And can he apply for US passport when he arrives here? What are the requirements and does he need to apply for certificate of citizenship? Has anybody out there in thesame situation or was? I hope to gather inputs here and sorry for the long post. Have a great day everyone!

  8. Hi guys, thanks for the answers. I was married to him and filed divorce here. He can't move on and he keeps giving me hard time with the kids. He was even trying to extort money from me. He really though that people in the US are just picking money everywhere.

  9. Unless you are asked to submit originals, you should be OK sending the photocopies. In most countries you can obtain a certified copy of the original which is as valid as the original document. In regards to the passport for your son, you must submit a valid passport. The USCIS will use the number of that passport for all purposes, such as medical exams, etc, and that is the passport to which his visa will be attached.

    Good luck!

Hi, thanks for your advice. Have a great day!

  10. Hi everyone, my concern is sending NVC photocopies of the civil documents( birth certificate, etc). Is this okay? I plan to bring the original at the time of the interview. My other concern is im having hard time getting my son a passport. Is it possible to submit old passport photocopy, anyway i will be bringing the original passport(renewed one) at the interview. Has anyone tried? Please advice. Thank you.

  11. i actually dont know how to start. .. im happy being with my husband, we waited to be together for years and during those times of waiting i thought this was the greatet dream i ever had... and i still do believe in that though... only the part of adjusting to this new enviromnent makes me feel sad despite the fact that i had my dream to be with hubby came true now...

right now i cant stop crying coz i really miss being home. i miss our home in the phil especially my mom and my sister. my dad lives here in the US too but he's quite far, he in CT. It costs much to visit him.. Though I really wanna see him. I think seeing my dad might make my homesickness come off a li'l bit. But its costly to travel there. I really feel sad being alone at home while hubby is at work. Im trying to fight off the feeling but its too strong that I cant help but cry alone... I dont have anyone else to talk to when he's out and Im feeling bored doing the same things at home over and over.. Though Im kind of thankful with the chores coz thats only effin thing that makes me a li'l busy... II even feel so dumb here. I dont even know how to go to burger king alone. and besides I dont have any money so I definitely cant go anywhere. Hubby is taking care of all my needs and he's supportive but its also different to have your own money. I feel like I'm not capable of doing anything. I cant drive, I cant go out alone, I'm stuck being home. And one more thing, I do speak englis well enough to communicate but I sopmetimes find it hard to understand native english speakers when they talk too fast. I feel so dumb and stupid. How am I supposed to get a job if Im this dumb?!!! And I dont even applied for my AOS and EAD at this point! (more than a month now in CA) Our marriage certificate hasnt arrived yet... Uggghh evrything is a mess and I so feel like going home (Phil).. Im so lonely here... Im just staying here because of my hubby. Nothing else... What am I gonna do? :(

Hi, you are nit alone. I feel what you feel even i am nearly 2 years here.

  12. Where is the mother currently? Where is the daughter? How old is the daughter?

Hi, yhe daughter is 32 yrs old and she is here in US while the mom is in Philippines.

Does she have a qualifying relative for the hardship waiver because a child doesn't qualify to file one for their parent. Otherwise she must wait out the ban. 5 years is an odd amount. If the overstay was less than one year it is 3 years over a year it is a 10 year ban.

What do you mean by relative for the hardship waiver? She has relatives in the US. So what can she do?
