  1. I would google ESL classes in your area. There should be some free or low cost community classes, if you have a community center that is also a place to look. If you can't find anything call the local high school or community college and ask them I am sure they will know where you can find some English classes. As for the apprenticeship, maybe contact a local union for a trade that he is interested in, they will be able to tell you if they take apprentices and if not where to look. Good luck!

  2. All I know is that the embassy email specifically stated they wanted a copy emailed to them prior to the interview. I have no idea why. Also I figured out how to email it without scanning it. After you hit continue you hit save and then send the pdf file as an attachment.

    Dear Madam,

Your fiance has been scheduled on July xx at xxxx. Please send us a completed form DS-156 by email before the interview day.

    Regards,

    Consular Section

  3. Hi all,

The embassy in Algiers has asked for form DS-156 to be emailed to them before the interview. I can't figure out how to email it. Does anyone know how to email it? Please provide me instructions if you know how. If I can't email it does anyone know if the embassy in Algiers will accept a copy if my fiance drops it off, or mails it? Thank you for your advicerose.gif

  4. my guess is that is the average of all 129f petitions. Those of us that took 7 or more months are bringing the national average up. Perhaps currently they are at 5 months, but that was not the case for the last year. I filed in Oct and was approved 7 months later

  5. Unfortunately the embassy only accepts medicals from two doctors in Algiers, their information can be found in the embassy info. That is why it is taking 3 weeks, I would have your fiancee call now to make her appt.

-DR. KOURDALI - Lotissement Abdouni Villa N°14, (Face Lycée Boudiaf)
    Dar El Beida. Alger
Le Dr. reçoit tous les jours, sauf le vendredi, de 9h00 à 12h00 et 14h00 à18h00).
Prière de prendre rendez-vous au préalable: Tel: 021-506990, 021-505271, 077-504-7922 ou 066-147-3088 (heures de bureau).

    - Dr. Ait Belkacem, Rachida
    Clinique Diar Saada
    100, Chemin Abdelkader
    El Mouradia, Alger
    Tel : 213-21-698711 – 698744- 698749
    Le Docteur reçoit sur rendez-vous

  6. Hi Congrats on your NOA2! I am about a month a head of you in the process, I got my NOA2 May 6. From there things have been moving fairly fast. I called NVC about a week after receiving NOA2 and got my case number. From there I tracked it on DHL (go to the embassy forum there are instructions there how to do that) once it was received at the embassy I waited and waited patiently, until I couldn't take it anymore (about 2 weeks with no word from them). I had my fiance in Algiers send an email and he got no response, this made me so mad! I sent an email the next day and it was responded to in 20 minutes with our packet 3. Now we are waiting for his medical (he called both doctors and the soonest appt was 3 weeks from when he called) after that he will make the appointment for the interview. I did send him the affidavit of support (I knew someone who was going to Algiers so I sent it with them). I would look at the embassy page it has literally the exact packet you will receive, and start working on getting everything together, I would also try to make the medical appt as it appears they are about 3 weeks out. Good luck!

  7. My experience says that the USC should contact the embassy for packet 3. My fiance in Algiers sent an email to the embassy and they did not respond, he even went to the embassy in Algiers and they would not give him any information. I the USC sent an email and it was answered within 20 minutes with packet 3. My NOA2 was 5-6, left NVC May 12, ready at embassy since May 23, waited until June 5 to send the email. I am not sure how much longer I would have waited to receive it, but this process is long enough so anything to speed it up is good..also the email in the embassy section is incorrect, send the email here. 8. My K1 date from the NVC was 5-12, I tracked the package online and it said it was ready since 5-23. My fiance in Algiers sent and email and they didn't respond, he even went to the embassy and they would not give him any information. I the USC sent an email and it was responded to within 20 minutes. My advise is for the USC to send an email asking for the next steps. Good luck

  9. Hi,

First thank you everyone for your advise and guidance, I sincerely appreciate it. When I look at the embassy information for Algeria it says that the k1 visa package is emailed. I just want to verify that, should my fiancé expect an email, or a package in the regular mail? When I look online https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx it says that our case has been ready since May 23, and to date he has not received anything. If it is just emailed I am worried that he has not received it. Should he email the embassy and ask for the status? I don't want to do anything that would upset them...Please advisegoofy.gif

  10. Thank you everyone for the information. I know his petition is at the embassy...NVC sent it 3 days after it arrived there, it has been at the embassy since 5-23. Does anyone know if I the petitioner get get the email, or does he as the beneficiary get the email? So far neither of us has received anything. Also, I understand they want a lot of evidence, we have pictures (a lot with me and his mom, and sister, grandma etc) emails, skype chat, will they look at those at the interview, or has their mind already been made up from what is in the packet?

  11. Hi,

I called today and got my NVC number and was told my K1 was sent to the Embassy in Algiers on May 14. I am wondering what has been the experience of others, how long does it take to get an interview in Algiers, do they tell him when the interview is or does he have to make the appointment ? What kind of questions do they ask? Any advise? I appreciate you reading this, and any and all responses. Thank you
