  1. Here is my detail:

NOA 1 of priority date 11-19-12 at MSC

No notification. So I called and talk to officer on July 17. When I asked "where exactly my file located". I got reply "it has been transfered to Atlanta in January". As of yet, I am still waiting. I did submit inquiry on this file on July 17. Due date for inquiry is August 1 but he said to give it few weeks after tht. I do have info pass set up for August 6. Does any one have any prediction when I should be expecting to receive approval?

My situation sounds almost identical. I also was transferred in January. January 4th to be exact. I got no notification about the transfer. I didn't even know that it was transferred until mid April when I spoke to a tier 2. I put in a request for a service request at the end of may and still have heard nothing. I had a info pass July 17 and walked out with a approval. I think it was sheer luck though. I think part of it might be whom I ended up with. I got the nice man at window number 9. They will give you the whole speach about having over 5000 cases. Find out if your file is shelved or boxed. Pray that it's shelved. Asked them kindly if they can go retrieve it just to keep it moving. If it stays in the box it will stay there for a while longer. As far as a guess on when you get approved I don't know. I gave a brief description of my info pass in a post a page or 2 back. Good luck and feel free to ask me any questions

  2. Congratulations!

Thats a crazy story though. I hope all of the Atlanta filers/waiters can find the time for InfoPass appointments!

I hope so too. Yes I encourage everyone that can make infopass to do so. I thinking the Atlanta office is having major issues and I would highly recommend checking on your file. I talked with a tier 2 many times and you won't believe the ####### they told me. And the whole time my file was sitting in Atlanta untouched

  3. @Vanvasek , Maree, and all those still waiting at Atlanta,

I dont think calling USCIS will help in away. This worked for me and some other folks on this forum, and If I were you, I will do the following again immediately:

    • Call the offices of both state Senators (Chambliss, and Isakson) and tell them what is going on. They will surely tell you to send them a privacy release form so that they can follow up on your case. Dont wait for them to send you the forms by mail. Visit their website, download the form, complete it, and fax or email it to them. (Privacy Release Form link for Chamblis: http://www.chambliss.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/privacy-release-form; Privacy release form for Isakson: http://www.isakson.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/6c85a37a-1f8d-4ca2-b998-0d07cb170168/Privacy%20Release%20Form.pdf) You can complete all these steps in a day. After they receive it, give them a few days (maybe 2-3 days to contact Atlanta USCIS), and call their offices to follow up if there is any response from USCIS. Please keep in mind that they are doing the same work for a lot of people so it could take time before they get back to you. So what does that mean? You need to call them to check on the status of your inquiry. Yes, I repeat, call them at least twice a week to talk to your case worker for updates. Unless they give you a specific date to call back, I will call them about twice a week to check.(Do this for both senators simultaneously).
    • Make an info pass appointment and go to the Atlanta office, and check. This is not the best as it doesnt yield any results in the past but judging from omar&Jessicas comment posted yesterday at 6:11pm, you can also give it a try and see if you will be lucky too.
    Good luck!!!!![/quote

I do think it was sheer luck. I don't think I have ever read of a person going in for a infopass and getting approval. Bit if you go in they have to get the file out and look at it and if they get it out at least it's not sitting in a box. The man said that they have over 1000 cases in box's because they don't have enough room on there shelves

  4. 230 days later our file is approved!!!!!!!!! I went to Atlanta for a infopass appointment this morning. The man that I saw today confirmed that the file was in the Atlanta office, but it was not a guarantee that he could find it. At first he told that our file was filed away in a box somewhere because they did not have enough shelf space for all 5000 files in there office. He said that if he could find it he would go ahead and approve it if everything was in there that needed to be in the file. It took him 15 minutes to locate it and then another 15 minutes to go through the file and approve it. So I guess if I didn't go in for a infopass my file would have sat there collecting dust for another 4 or 5 months. Truly our I-130 has been floating around the country for almost 8 months now and this man picked it up and had it approved in 15 minutes. I'm on cloud 9 today.

  6. hello my fellow november filers,

it has been some time since i last checked in and checked on the posts of other members and for that i do apologize.

i just wanted to update my status - i called the NVC and requested an update on my wife's case and the customer service rep told me that my wife's case was closed today and just waiting for a an appointment to be scheduled at the US Embassy in Manila. that's a sigh of relief hehehe...

i'd better tell my wife to prepare a trip soon to Manila so she can get her medical examination done.

for those who are still waiting, please remain strong. for those who have theirs at NVC, it moves fast believe it or not (as long as all your paperwork is in order).

    Congrats :)

  7. You're from Atlanta, so honestly, you have bigger problems than contacting your congressman.

By all means, go ahead, but it will do nothing.

Here's the thread you really belong in:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/397450-atlanta-transferrers/

    9 months is very probable.

    Quick recap of ATL:

    Everyone's be waiting.

Virtually no one has been approved.

    Everyone has contacted their congressman.

    Everyone's still waiting.

    No one is being approved.

My local office is Atlanta, but our file is in Missouri (NBC) it's been there from the beginning. Except for its arrival at the Chicago lock box. It went to the NBC almost immediately.

  8. 9 months???? Bunch of lies from USCIS. You should immediately contact your congressman and start pushing things. I went to my congressman office on last Thursday, on Friday USCIS sent me letter asking to resubmit form G-325A again. You should also visit your local office. I went there twice and it was helpful. [/quote

How do I contact my congressman and what did you say to your congressman?

  10. Our I-130 is in process for 5 months today. The status in the website shows "initial review" for 5 months. Shall we ask service request or info pass at local USCIS office? Kindly advise. Thank you.

Today is our 5th month. I feel a little better knowing I'm not alone. I'm consistently think of stuff like what if they lost our packet. Last time I called they told me not to call back until after 9 months if not approved
