  1. Also one more question, did you take with you proof like chat logs, and telephone logs, and if you did how many months back did you show, would the last 3 months be enough or do they want everything going back to the nikah which for me would be almost 2 years worth

My wife have none of the things with her as mentioned here. Fortunately there did not ask her anything. But keep least current logs with you at the interview.

    Thanks!

  2. Kash if you don't mind me asking, is your wife reserving her ticket to come here any time soon? My husband is having a dilemma of whether he should get a ticket from a travel agent or go to the airline office directly to book a ticket. Travel agents seem to be lying about the ticket prices since they are significantly different online (the airline websites).

I bought the ticket from USA, its not much difference . I bought from a agent I know for many years.

    Hope this will help you.

  3. Did you guys send Police Report to NVC with your IV package? I am getting mixed response to it. Several people told me it's not needed for Pakistan and I called NVC and they told me that it's not needed. I also checked State website and it's says Not Available for Police Certificate under Pakistan, but one of the guys told me that NVC not only asked him for Police Certificate, but also required him to send him again once it expired after 6 months. Did anyone here not send it and still got case completed?

    Requested in the Interview

    *** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders

    ================================================================================

    · Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three

items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:

    · He or she is more than 16 years old;

    · He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and

    · He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate.

Oct 28 , Interview. at ISL.

  4. Well, I just talked to NVC again right now. Now the operator told me since I filed everything before Sept 1st, ignore the email :\ Now I dont know who to trust. Their system allowes me. I fear ignoring the email might cause issues as they might comeback and say "hey we told you to do it...." God, I wish they could keep tabs on their work.

Starting September 1, 2013, all immigrant visa applicants will apply online using Form DS-260 (Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration). Applicants will also choose their agent online using Form DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent). Applicants will access both forms on the web at ceac.state.gov.

These forms replace the paper DS-230 and DS-3032. The National Visa Center (NVC) may instruct some applicants who previously submitted Form DS-230 to submit Form DS-260. Only Diversity Visa and Cuban Family Reunification Parole applicants will continue to use the paper forms. If you have questions or feedback about Forms DS-260 and DS-261, contact the NVC at nvcinquiry@state.gov or 603-334-0700.

  5. Yes. After submitting. It's in the confirmation attachment. Sorry its 3-5 business days.

  6. Dear aaron2020;

    The "if Approved" applies to

" or submit a complete relative, special

immigrant juvenile, or special immigrant military
petition that, if approved, will make a visa number
    immediately available to you."
All other applicants have to have a approval before filing the I- 485.
Definitely we will find out on August 1, I hope the way you intreprete is correct but what I read and talk to lawyers its seem to be otherwise.
    Good Luck !!
  7. Ok guys more clear proof from USCIS that F2A can file concurrently if PD is current:

I have copied and pasted below the instructions on page 4 of form I-485 instructions.

    12. Evidence of Eligibility to file form I-485

    A. Based on an immigrant petition
Attach a copy of the approval notice for an immigrant
petition that makes a visa number immediately
available to you, or submit a complete relative, special
immigrant juvenile, or special immigrant military
petition that, if approved, will make a visa number

    immediately available to you.

PD date becoming current means this category has a visa number immediately available as from August 1, 2013. So a complete relative petition (which will be a completed form I-130 in this case) will be sufficient to file form I-485. So you guys can see that the Key for being eligible to file form I-130 as a relative is whether a visa number is available to you.
If your application for AOS gets rejected by error or by some uninformed guy in the mail room, send the application back to them and highlight that section of the form I-485 instructions that clearly states you are eligible to file.
    Good luck guys!

This applies ONLY when your I 130 is approved.

  8. Feeling so dejected...

NVC tells me to simply call back "next week" and to just wait. (I call twice a week.)

U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh tells me nothing can be done until NVC sets the interview date. (They're apologetic & much nicer than NVC.)

13 months since I-130 sent; 91 days since case was completed at NVC.

    crying.gif

I received a email saying" the NVC has received the information you submitted and placed it in your case file. You will be contacted when your petition is sent to the US Embassy or Consulate for further processing."

What this mean ? Do I getting a interview call soon ?

  9. Who got approval from 2013?

    • VSC reports that it has added nearly 200 employees since the beginning of FY 2013, bringing its total staffing level to more than 900 Federal employees. VSC engaged in a backlog reduction effort and completed over 20,000 I-130 Immediate Relative initial receipts in February and March. In addition, the active cycle time on I-751s was reduced from 11 months (in October) to 6 months (in March). In order to shorten the processing times for the Form I-360 VAWA Self-Petition, the Humanitarian Division trained 52 officers on this case type. Positive news!
  10. Yes, matriculation certificate will be acceptable in Pakistan so long as you submit the original and it shows your wife's full name, birth date and her father's full name.

It also needs to show that the principal or headmaster signed it.

My wife also had an attested copy of this too...just in case, but the original worked out for us... we gave it to the NVC after the I-130 was approved... and it was returned to us at the interview.

Also, be careful, this is only acceptable if your wife was born BEFORE 1980.

    Hi Lubnajavid:

I send her maticulation cert, and in two days the send me reply that my case have been completed.

Thank you so much for your information .

Yes she was born before 1980.

I send her original matric certificate, original domicile and original per dated ID card attached with English translation. Hope this all prove her birth certificate issue. I am so worried about this requirement .

Thank you for your prompt reply. I feel so better and relax after your posting here.

    Thanks once again.

  12. Sorry for the late update... had been away from VJ for some time - the AP tracker for Islamabad was very disheartening and i didnt have the heart to read all the posts that often there....and then there was very little progress on my wife's case for SO long.

But to recap - I was LPR and filed F2a and our NOA1 was Aug 3 2011.

you can see the NOA2 date in my signature and then we received NVC requests early Sep 2012.

BY end of October 2012 we had provided all the documentation (took a little longer to get 3 different Police Certificates from 3 different cities in pakistan...but we did it)

In early march we got a RFE regarding our marriage certificate (stating they never received it...which they clearly did) and also regarding my wife's birth cert - she didnt have one but we provided school records (which the country reprocity schedules shows we can use).

Before we were able to send the documents the NVC sent an email saying they had everything!! So we held on to the seond marraige certificate we requested and the birth affidavits...

Right after that time i naturalized and upgraded our case and so didnt need to wait for the priority date to become current...

By the time NVC received our paperwork, and sent it forward to the embassy it was actually our 2nd aniversary, but the case still showed CR1...

She received the packet for interview at the end of april and the interview was scheduled for June 6th.

I traveled to the interview with her - was allowed all the way in the embassy as the petitioner (no doubt being a US citizen with my US passport also helped)

In her interview letter they still were asking for our marriage certificate and her birth certificate.

We went prepared - with the docs we never got to send to the NVC (affidavitss etc.) and also proof of ongoing relationship and photo album.

I can provide info on the file for relationship if anyone wants to know what we included...

At the first window after the fingerprints were taken they had her sign and took her medical and again asked for her birth certificate - i was at that window and my wife and i both explained (and showed 3 separate pages from the DOS site) that their own pages show school records suffice if born before 1980

Lady at first didnt agree but then just told us to sit down...waited for the interview, and the CO didnt even ask to see anything about the marriage cert or her lack of birth cert....

My wife began with asking to ensure our case was correctly categorized as IR1 and not CR1 - lady at first window said it was...but the interview CO said it wasnt and corrected it - my advice - ensure your message is heard by the interview CO - dont rely on other Embassy folk before...

He was concerned only about how our marriage came about and and our previous marriages and details of our divorces.

My wife tried to give our relationship file and photo album - CO said he didnt need to see anything - that she was approved :)

I had asked my wife to give up to date tax return/employment letter/pay stubs etc. - the CO said he didnt need them. - told her she was approved...

    That was that...10 minute interview..done by 910am.

Got the call about passport/visa/envelope two days later and had it in hand 3 days after the interview - turned out my wife and i didnt recognise the telephone number the first day they called and ignored it!! - HINT - dont ignore phone calls after your interview!

My wife's POE will be in mid July -

If anyone has any questions, please do PM me or ask here...i'll be glad to answer what i can etc.

Sorry again for being out of touch - was just too hard to visit VJ regularly while being APART.
