during the whole process i have been regularly to the US for shoping and visits with my fiance, its only been since our file went into noa2 and passed nvc that our congress rep told us (later comfirmed by border agents) that it is now best that i do not travel across until i have my visa in hand and am ready to move. They said that traveling this close to the end of the process could appear shady in the file...
didnt understand that part too well and they bassically told me at the border when i called them up that it would look wrong going across shoping for clothes with couple months left till visa in hand.. i was like hmm ok, not sure why but i can wait.
anyways, during the whole submissions, and waiting for noa2 i have not had a signle problem, just let them know that our papers were being processed and we promised not to get married while shopping

we got our noa2 may 3rd i believe, and papers got to the embassy here in montreal this morning, now we are just waiting for pack 3 and them appointment, so we figure we can wait a bit before crossing the border for some ben and jerrys

my suggestion would be call the border office near you, or the one you use the most to go over the border, they will let you know the best thing to do
as well as any precautions or things to avoid -
i have also used the Commisionnaries to get my police certificate, fast, not too expensive. We were refered to them by our police station in the west island (also live in montreal) sent a sopy of it with our i129f forms last summer, and they didnt seem to think they were not good

i hope i can paste the followign info here:

Yes! You will be moving in the summer which is absolutely lovely, warm, and green. Lots of big green yards and parks for your kid to play in! Can't say the same for the winter, but being from Canada, it shouldn't be a shock to you

Minneapolis is also a great city with delicious restaurants, so I hope you get to spend some time in the city.
oh we will definately be going into the city as well
i plan on lost of exploring, loooove the green all over and am actually really glad i missed winter hahaha though i am used to the bitter harsh cold (being native of portugal i cant believe i actually said that
) and am actually looking foward to the road trip home

Really big congratulations! My hometown is right next door - Anoka - so I felt like I needed to comment and pass along good wishes to a fellow NW suburbanite! Luckily I'm in DC right now so ours went to Vermont instead of CSC, and we got our approval this week too. Feels great, right?
thank you so much
and yes it feels really really great, specially after seeing how much summer camp was going to cost this summer for one kid OMG! stress is almost all gone, now i'm panicking over the rest of things i hope i didnt forget to do and forms i dont know if i need to do yet hahahahaha!cant wait to move there, stalking my future home on google earth makes me love the area already!

Here's the montreal link for what to do: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#4
thank you so much for the info!
it mentions that a child acompanying a k1 aplicant must apply for a k2 visa.. we filled out forms for my daughter at the same time as my own visa application, is the k2 then a different form i must fill out for her? got a bit stumped over that one..
-
congratulations on your noa-2.
Thank you so much!
-
woo hoo

indeed!
oh and for those who like to know or keep track of this kind of info
we got in contact with our congress rep. were able to get our file approved for expedite about a month ago. Got 1 RFE on friday 19th of april, after we spoke with our rep she emailed them asking what was missing, and passed on that info to us so we could do it right away without needing to wait for the center's rfe letter. Sent in missing form saturday via express post at the airport in st-paul with signature confirmation for monday afternoon, while the congress rep sent in a scanned version of the missing info on friday afternoon to the service center. Package from center reveiced only the following friday, but our info had already been sent out. after another week and a half of waiting we finally got our noa2! omg what a long wait its been!
You've updated your timeline and it's not showing up on Igors list. Maybe there is a glitch with Igors list and there have been other approvals?? I hope so. Regardless, congrats!
might be because i only did it a few minutes ago, does the site only update for the following day or is it instant? hmmm
i hope there are many more!

On May 1, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
awesomeness!!! i'm so so so relieved and happy that finally finally! we got our NOA2!
due to my lack of coherent brain function at the moment and i cant seem to find where to look, could anyone please direct me to the guides for the next procedures? also how many sets of fotos are required for the medical and interview?
omg!!!
best wishes to all those still waiting!

Six years here. Met April 2006, pretty serious by summer 2006, lots of visits in 2007 and onwards, and filed for K-1 FINALLY in November 2012! It feels like forever and I cannot cannot cannot wait for the distance to be over and done with!
exactly the same with me, though 7 years for us, and finally filled back in august 2010
cant wait to be together and get all this over with omg! -
congrats to you
hopefully they do some august as well this week
wonderful news for you, i'm so happy! -
Yeah, I keep telling my fiancée " service for most things in the US is usually pretty good...except all the things we have to deal with to get you here". And she's like "ok, yeah, sure"

lol 100% agree with that
cant stop laughing now! thank you! -
you seriously have no idea what the hell you are talking about. there is exactly one day of evidence on record that the CSC has been working quickly on the files they should be, and that day is today. and even if they do start processing again, the July-August-September-October-November petitions face substantially delays, some up to over 10 months.
not only is this something worth complaining about, but it is something worth complaining very loudly about. in fact, one VJer got an email from his senator that cited all these complaints on this site (which for some unexplained reason annoy you) as a reason for why the CSC finally got their act together and began processing the correct apps today.
you and others like you on this site who feel some bizarre urge to belittle the problems of others are the only ones with a *me* mentality here. you think that because you do not want to read about our problems that we should not discuss them and advocate on our behalf. if we did that, you'd have some weird abstract benefit of not voluntarily clicking on threads you didn't want to read and we'd still be waiting for the CSC to refocus on I-129Fs. no. I think we made the right choice in continuing to "complain" about the horribly mismanagement of the CSC and we bettered all of our lots as a result. that's been the theory from the start and we saw it through. if that annoys you for some inexplicable reason, you should keep to yourself.
Very well said. Couldn't put it better myself.

I'm really glad they are back up, but they really should get their act together for the earlier filers. I'm Sept, but there are people waiting from July! I'm sure they would like to get on with their life.
indeed we would! i do hope they stop kidding themselves by boosting up their time scores by only doing more recent aplications and actually get back to working on july-october cases and the few junes still left. Our file was approved last week for an expedite, they told us within the next two weeks we should be getting our noa2, but seeing how things are going i wont be holding my breath.
-
congrats! parabens a vcs dois

-
What a bunch of complaining negative people on here. Just wait, you're time will come. Mamichou's posts are notorious for this. His profile icon alone says it all

i have to second all the WOWs, sheesh.... for someone who got their NOA2 way before many others, that is extremely rude and insensitive of you.

august 10, csc, no news about anything yet

Interview next week! Hope we didn't forget anything...
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
first i want to say Congratulations and Good luck to you both!! My interview is also next week, and i am going bonkers hahaha, medical is this week so i have to haul the little one and myself downtown... that will be fun ha!
second, be prepared with tons of pictures, i had them all in 5x5, and so far we got more than a dozen printed , still have 6 sets left so should be good for medical and interview.
and about proof of relashionship, im not sure what to bring, i mean we arent very camera happy people, i do have a few taken when we went down to boston to see my family, and we have been together for nearly 7 years now, tons of trips of my fiance here to see me in Canada... what kind of proof do they ask for? besides the few pictures (4-5) i cant think of much else to show as we always call each other constantly and dont use skype or other forms of messenger programs.. would the pictures be enough? and maybe printed phone records showing outgoing and incoming calls?
sorry to butt into this board
