Ich fuelle gerade die Papiere fuer die US Staatsbuergerschaft aus. Ich bin seit 2006 permanent resident.
2004 wurde ich aufgrund 212 (a) (7) (a) (i) (i) zurueck nach Deutschland geschickt. Muss ich das im Antrag angeben? Ich wurde ja nicht deportiert und es ist jetzt fast 14 Jahre her... Ich hatte einen Tag Overstay des VW Programs und mir wurde illegale Arbeit in den USA vorgeworfen.
Irgendjemand Erfahrung damit?

I guess best would be to have both Citizenships because than I can work in 28 countries (EU has 27 right now). Just the idea makes me happy. But you are right, a US Citizen has a lot less problems just going to other countries. It is more a feeling on where I was born and grew up. It is not a pair of socks to change that Citizenship.

I'm too German to do that..... would like to be a world traveler
congress man - maybe we do that, I'm just so tired of dealing with that, I have other things to do and the whole process took so long for us, I'm dealing with this since 5 years more or less

We went to an Infopass appointment in Portland - could have saved the time, no info, no reason why it takes so long - no help at all. We are still waiting since 08/2009 now.

I-751, I got confused because the guidelines don't mention it and the Instructions for I-751 do.... But maybe I red it wrong.

The last officer said I should check www.cbp.gov (that does not help in any way)
What happens is: I always get pulled out to the HS interrogate office and they always ask the same question: what happened in 2004? I had one day overstay in 2004 (91 instead 90 day visa waiver). So and with being a green card holder I thought this should be forgiven by now... I'm just looking to who to talk to to stop that. I'm afraid one day they tell me to return wherever I'm coming from. But my home, son and husband are here... Getting pretty frustrated - sorry

I have a green card since 10/2007 and left the US for short business trips three times since than. Every time I come back to the US I have trouble to go through Homeland Security. Were would I call or write to to stop this? Is there some red flag or something? Who is the red flag dis appearer???

Hi Guys,
I received my green card a while ago and traveled to Taiwan for work for 6 days. On the way back I got pulled out by Immigrations again and Customs too - it was weird - I was hoping to be "untouchable" B)

We had our interview today! It was so easy: 25 min wait in the waiting area, 8 min interview. We took our 3 year old son, he tried out every stamp in the officers office
David was asked only two questions: if he ever lived in Germany and when we got married. I was asked a little bit about my overstay in the US in 2003 and when I why I was sent back to Germany later in 2004. Where do we live and if I ever joined a communistic party (I grew up in east Germany). And that was it. She took out the I-94 and stamped the passport and told me to come back in two years.
I could not believe it, the medical for $200.00 I did and all the stuff I put together - nothing was asked for. So if you have kids - take them, we think that helped.
Green card should arrive in about two weeks

Yes, after we started in 2005 and now it is 2 1/2 years later..... We feel good now. I was a wreck in between not knowing what was going on. But the AOS process was pretty painless for us. The time in Germany was harder.

OK, sorry. I kind of went back to my home language here....
Here now in English:
I'm filling out the papers for US citizenship and have one question. I was send back in 2004 because of a 1 day overstay of the VW program. Do I need to mention that anywhere in the application?
