If this were me, I'd continue with the process as normal and be prepared to file a waiver at the interview just in case.

I'd agree with Tracy. Plus, I remember that incident on the news.... it was pretty bad I have to say.

They're some of the main ones I've noticed here, people have no clue what I'm talking about when i say those. Also when I say 30,40,50 etc, peopple think I'm saying 13,14,15 etc

And of course there's all the different words...craic, bollocks, langer=wanker, #######, #######-head etc...BUT!! langers= p*ssed, drunk etc, ghoul-bag=sh*t head, Hmmmm..lots of curse words there..oops!

But, luckily Rob knows all these too from his years in Ireland..whew!! Imagine the trouble if he didn't!!

We're choosing Married Filing Jointly, and also adding a Statement to our 1040 form, to the effect that I am choosing to be treated as resident alien for the tax year. I am also including Form 2555EZ (foreign income earned tax exclusion) with our returns.

I know Gimygirl had tax info pinned before the VJ server issue, but I'm not sure if it's still pinned or archived as I haven't checked.

Hmmm, we would probably have gone the IR/CR route (Had never heard of it during our K1 process) since Rob was a legal resident of Ireland, but our K1 journey was swift and we were together in Ireland for all of it, except the interview, as Rob had a job interview here in the US.

Other than that, I don't think we would have changed anything really.
