Thanks! I was surprised to read they wanted proof of joint bank account when you live separately … good to know it was because of something you showed them.
Yes everything they asked for we had ready. I decided to open one 2 years ago because i wanted to have something joint with her atleast in DR since i cant add her to my account in the US

Sounds like this interview went better than the previous interview! Hopefully they will grant the visa soon. I feel like it is a good sign they kept the passport!!!
Did you mention you had a bank account in both your names (is it US based on DR based) or was this something that interviewer decided he wanted for more proof?
We took a bank book which has withdraws and deposits but he siad he couldnt except that he needed a letter so we had to upload that.. its a DR based bank

Why did they give you a 221g and What was the addition evidence they asked for at the interview. Curious because I have interview coming up in DR with a similar situation of being my 2nd petition for someone in DR as well and any information you can help with will be appreciated thank you
They required more evidence of the relationship, the officer specifically asked me for these things
photos from 2019 (when i came to see her for the first time) untill may last trip before this one
a doctors note of a treatment he put me on which I mentioned to the officer we were trying to have a baby so he asked for this
and a Bank Letter stating both our names on the account
and he kept the passport, still in AP today 😢😖

Just an update on my case we went to the interview and received a 221g requesting more evidence which i uploaded the same night of the interview (March 7 2024) the officer kept my wife's passport..
My case status on ceac was in refused since that day. today my case went from refused to Ready, then to Administrative Processing.
i have heard this is good news the fact that they kept her passport. Hopefully i get a issue notice soon.. -

You should expect the interviewer to ask your current wife about your past wife.
This might be a red flag. No one can say for certain though.
You should tell your wife everything about the marriage that ended in divorce and if any of the same “flags” with first marriage are also in the second marriage I would be worried…Nothing what so ever i am confident on that

How many visits have you made for how long, to your current spouse?
I have to check my passport to be sure but about 8 or 11 since 2019
sometimes for 2 weeks other times for a whole month

So thats why i am asking will this be cause for a red flag to them and what should i expect during the interview this time..

If status says returned to NVC, then NVC returned it to USCIS, and you got a NOIR (Notice of Intent to Revoke) giving a reason or reasons for denial and an opportunity to tell your side before USCIS made any ultimate decision to revoke their approval of the I-130.
She had a regular interview followed by what we call a Stokes interview for both of you. They do this when they do not believe the marriage is bona fide. Surely, you know why they thought that. Maybe you have a copy of the NOIR somewhere. Did you respond to it?
Note that visa interviews are not tests, you pass by "answering correctly". Sometimes the truth (Correct answers) are the reason for the denial.
No i did not respond to it. Because our relationship did not last long after the interview.

So you were not first Cousins?
Obviously it did not help your case.
Oh no.. we just had a mutual cosin just om diffrent sides of that cousins family..

Most sponsors do not attend the interview and then it seems you had a Stokes.
I attended because i felt it would help the case for me to be there as well, as i plan to do for this one as well. If i remember correctly we answered everything correctly in the first interview before the stokes.. now that i recall we had a mutual cousin (he was my cousin on my dad side and her cousin on his moms side) but again just want to know what to expect

Is your ex wife from the same country as your new wife?
Did you petition your wife for adjustment of status (inside the US) or for an immigrant visa (consulate interview)?
Interviewing the petitioner is highly unusual when the beneficiary is overseas… even more so is separating spouses at a consulate interview.
You might want to consult with a lawyer to figure out how to get the records of the old petition because the consulate might ask your new wife about the old wife and any uncertainties could impact this new case.Yes my second wife is from the same country. It was a consulate interview.. do u know and questions??

That sounds serious and quite abnormal.
It could have an effect but it’s hard to tell without any info
I’d definitely try to remember all the details as your wife can be asked about that or at least why you got divorced with your ex spouse
Last time i checked the case status it says returned to NVC but again i dont remember the exact details of the denial…

It was so long ago i forgot, what i can tell you is they seperates us after the inital interview and asked more questions individually

Hello, i recently got my interview letter for the us embassy in dominican republic for my wife and i am super excited and a little nervous.
because this is my second marriage also the second person i have petitioned for, my first wife got her visa denied back in 2014 (the interview was in dominican republic and she never got a visa or left the country at all) when i petitioned for her.. Things didn't work out to well after that so we divorced about a year or so later and i married my second wife in 2021.
i have heard that the this might be a red flag for the officer giving my interview. What i want to ask is if anyone knows what things should i expect this time around and will they give me a hard time because of this
I have photo proof and a joint back account with wife now, and she is the love of my life if anyone can tell me tips or what to expect i would appreciate it. I want to come back to the states with my wife by my side 😍
-
so what will I have to do if they confirm their original decision??.. I can't belive now they want to see proof when I had a ton at the interview and all they wanted were fotos.. I do have a lot of proof that I took to the interview
-
alright thank you
-
alright, I'm going to visit my wife in about 3 weeks (2nd trip this year). what would u recommend I do with her regarding this appeal, while I'm over there. I want to make sure there will be proof beyond a resonable doubt that we are bonifide
-
OK so I can do that right now or do I have to wait for the letter
-
I am, because at least it's something, I wonder what their descision will be and what I should start getting ready, I want to be ready as soon as that letter arrives
-
-
hey everyone I just received an email from uscis in which they said they received my case from department of state, and are now reviewing it, and I will receive a letter through mail when they have made their decision... is this good or bad what should I expect??
-
just in case I'll do it too, the thing is they probably just said that to scare me, I don't know I feel like someone called the embassy and lied about out case so they won't approve us, because I had tons of proof they didn't even ask for it
