Hi everyone so this has been a long process 😡 my final interview was 09/17 and now I wait...my stamp expires April so yet again I had to schedule an infopass for another stamp (this would be my 3rd stamp) ...I followed up in January on the interview status and they updated my online status to “received at local office” on March 3 ...thought this was strange so I called in yet again to a tier 2 rep and they sent a notice that said case is pending and there is no exact time line when this will be completed.

So I’m happy to say although this has been a long process and I was scheduled for yet another interview (stoke interview this time) on 4/9....my stamp expired on 4/11 so after the interview I was told to come back on 4/12 for my stamp and I’ll get a feedback on the interview. That was the most stressful 3 days of my life even though I was over exaggerating since I’ve been happily married for almost 7yrs. Got to the office to collect my stamp and ISO told me she has approved my case and gave me a 3 mth stamp and I’ll get the card in the mail. Ten mins later I received a text and email “new card in production”...exactly 1501 days since I submitted my application for ROC. Next step citizenship

  3. Hey Trini! Don't freak out :) I would call them and see if they can tell you anything on the phone and/or get an infopass appointment. I'm sure that wouldn't be the first time that the petitioner can not be present for the interview. So I'm sure they can help you with that and you can go to the interview alone :)

Good luck and keep us updated! :)

So I called the help desk, the CSR was confused :/ she said all i should do was schedule an info pass appointment and return the initial page stating why I can not attend.SO this is what I did.....I stated that my hubby is incarcerated (as stated in the application ) and his release date in July as well as included a full page letter explaining the situation and also expressing that the evidence for trips, money sent, visits etc were included in the package as well as requesting to reschedule ( hoping they give me a date when he is released).

I also scheduled an info pass appointment which is jan 28th.

1 Question, I am eligible to file for the N400 as of 2/20...should I go ahead and do this if I am given a later date interview? Would the N 400 be denied due to the pending I751?

  4. I wanna cry right now....HELP NEEDED!!!

So i received a letter for an interview dated 01/11/16.....interview date is 02/19/16 but it specifically stated BOTH applicant and petitioner MUST be present for the interview....HOWEVER :( my husband (US Citizen) is currently incarcerated and would not be released until 07/14/16 or even 2017!!! I specifically entered ALL this information when i sent in the package to avid all this......What should I do????? It says that if I am unable to attend the interview state why and return the letter asap....should i just do this only or should i set up an info pass appointment as well? Im literally having a nervous breakdown right now.

  5. So I had my interview today at 26 Federal Plaza at 9:45am, got to the window to check in on the 8th floor at 9:23am was caught up in the long security line on the 1st floor. Waited for approximately an hour. There wasn't as much ppl waiting than what I expected....however our IO was sooooooo nice....he joked around with my husband (US citizen) and even made jokes with me....he was familiar with the Caribbean since his family is from there so he made alot of jokes and references about the islands. Overall we took like 40 mins, he stated that i overstayed my time (between expired student visa and when i got my opt card) however he said that wasn't an issue, he just had to get his supervisor to sign it off and we'll be good to go! had us sit and wait in the lobby then 10 mins later he called us back in and stamped my form as approved. He sent the paperwork to begin card production immediately and he said i'll have my card within 15 business days and I have to resend another application next 21months for the permanent card.

Now I'm gonna cook my hubby a nice dinner and enjoy the night :)

Good luck with all other interviews.

  6. I honestly envy everyone getting summoned for their interviews and who adjust from K-1... I keep reading posts about people waiting for over a year to have their GC approved, that's just terrible...

No need to feel envy..I did not adjust from K-1...I was on a F-1 visa then got married then on OPT when I applied....Im sure everyone would be receiving their interview dates soon......from day 1 when I mailed out my package to the scheduled interview day it would be a total of 151 days! God is GOOD......soon the process will be over. check processing time according to location so you can estimate the waiting period.

  7. Hi All,

My wife and I just had our AOS interview today at 12:50pm. We arrived around 15 min early. Our IO officer was nice and asked my wife many questions from the I-485 to confirm the information. She also asked when was the first time we met and how we met. She asked us for original documents of our birth certificates and US citizenship papers, marriage certificate, then she asked for our joint documents. We submitted copies of bank statements, auto insurance cards, medical insurance cards, and our apartment lease. We also showed her our wedding and honeymoon trip photos.

One question that got us off guard was why did we choose to be together in US instead of my wife's home country, Singapore.

Bring original and copies of important documents and answer the questions honestly.

In the end, the IO gave us a paper with "Further Review" checked and we were so nervous, disappointed, and worried.

1 - 2 hours later, I checked my case status furiously and finally, the decision has been made: APPROVED!!!

    Until ROC in 21 months!!

Good luck to you all, be patient, and never give up.

    Congrats
