...any other VSC people still waiting here with me?
I think all the VSC peeps are still waiting ;-(
Got my tracking number today.
Congrats to all the new approvals!!!
-
Thanks for updating Sud Yaud!

Just got the text... Card in Production
On May 3, 2016, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number WACXXXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us.
-
Wow such great progress for us! Congrats everyone!

Looking at the Sept 2015 thread, it appears that 50% of the CSC is complete. We should be on deck.

Kash2011: The formatting above on my early bio looks off to me. That space should be after the dash so the dash stays a line above?
Everyone: Don't forget to log into that old USCIS account you set up. You'll likely be locked out and need to reset the password due to inactivity. Your old password hint is there to guide you.
Then turn on your email and mobile alerts for the CRI-89 case number.

You Sept filers are in purgatory. Biometrics complete. Just waiting for RFE or Approval. We joined you after or biometrics today. Good luck.

I updated the above post with my biometrics scheduled date as well as the early biometrics success.
As usual, the guard at the front door was way too serious, had an attitude, and was an all around dickhole.
Guard:
"This is for next week"
"Who Told you to come here"
Wife:
We are going to be on vacation next week and we hoped we could do a walk-in"
Guard:
"You are supposed to re-schedule by following these instructions"
"You'll need to talk with the station chief"
"Here talk with...her!" gesturing to the only other person in the building.
Station Chief:
"Where are you going?"
"Florida...wow! I was just there 2 weeks ago with my girlfriends."
"We aren't very busy today so we can take care of you, no problem."
Sheesh, I'm sure that poor sad sack of a guard got his training from the same place as the social security guards. Basically just a big tool on a power trip. He was pretty young so he has at least 15 more years of berating people for no reason before he retires.
Actually, I lied, there was 1 other "customer" amid 59 empty chairs in the waiting room filling out the form before processing. The station chief was the only other staff who handled all business at the location.

Submitted I-751 via US Mail today.

Not eligible for TN unfortunately.
He and his wife are packing while quickly job searching ;-(
-
Well he was given the option of immediate termination or signing a resignation letter. Under duress at that moment, he signed.
-
Please, your urgent help is required.
My good Canadian friend with Japanese wife was employed in California as an "At-Will" employee.
He has unfortunately been let go effective 2 weeks from now.
As an H1-B employee (with dependent spouse) what is his best course of action in efficiently obtaining a new position in the USA.
His "former" employer said he needs to leave the US ASAP (like by the end of August).
I feel it's important that he maintains the ability to be hired in a manner that is exempt from the H1-B quota.
When must he really leave the US? The date on his I-94?
Should he apply for a change in status to visitor then back to H1B when he finds a job?
Should he leave the country then return?
Any initial guidance at this initial stage would help so much.
Does he just need to find a job and a company willing to fill out paperwork as a sponsor? If we are looking for a company in his field of speciality that already has an H1-B slot open, that seems tough.
The key is his escaping the quota as far as I can see.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful responses in advance.
Cheers,
Team M&M

Thank you.

Well, she is applying to University here. As I said I know nothing about E-2. Does her E-2 evaporate when she hits 21? F-1 is a option of course but that makes her an international student with international fees.
-
Our friend is an E-2 Holder but her father is the principal E-2.
Is she eligible for a social security number?
Is she eligible for EAD?
What is the best approach for her. She is graduating high school, heading off to college, and was hoping to get a SSN and work part time.
Does she need to switch to F-1?
She doesn't want to pay "international tuition"
Is she eligible for EAD?
If she were getting married and coming to the US on K-1 o doing AOS I'd have all the answers but I don't know anything about E-2
Thanks,
M&M

I'm actually bummed out that the mod needed to move my post. It was information primarily for K-1 filers just beginning the process. Sheesh!
-
Try Chase and/or Citibank.
We were successful.
Opening Citi on a visit without SSN. We explained she was relocating and we were getting married. We needed evidence of an address in the US so I added her to the water bill.
Following K-1 arrival, prior to marriage and SSN we opened a joint Chase.
We utilized a screen print from CitiOnline for the address verification as our letter from the water company was old.
Obviously we went back and updated with SSN and married name following those events.
Yes, she was present.

Hello all...
I just thought people in this sub would appreciate this data point in answer to the question "How long does it take?"
Our entire process from engagement to green card took just under 50 weeks.
We meticulously filed all forms ourselves, no attorney. The Visa Journey forums and guides were an invaluable tool in our process. We had no RFE's, and tried to push things as fast as possible although we did schedule our embassy interview for convenience as opposed to speed.
We certainly had our share of waiting but all in all the process was smooth.
FWIW, we were not from a high fraud country and we were comfortably above the poverty line which could complicate matters for some. We had no overstay issues of course and no 89 day visits stateside. We had piles of primary evidence available from multiple overseas trips and we had a real wedding with real guests including family members from both sides in the USA.
The process does not take forever, but doesn't happen overnight.
Good luck to all!
It's a long tunnel but there is light at the end :-)
