Some unfortunate souls who bought round-trip tickets but didn't use the return part ended up being denied adjustment of status and/or removal of conditions because for whatever reason, despite not even checking in, their name appeared on the flight manifest heading back to their home country. Best play it safe and get one-way.

His first time traveling and flying and he had no problems at all!! He said he was in immigration at JFK for less than 15 minutes!! They asked him no questions but just took his fingerprints and photo and stamped his visa! They never mentioned the USCIS green card fee eventhough I made sure to pay it before he landed.
I am so grateful that he made it here for Christmas!! We are very happy together at last living like a married couple should. Thanks again to everyone who advised me and supported me throughout this process. All that worrying is behind me now and we can start our new life together.
    All the best to everyone.

    Just got home!
I need a waiver, so this was only the first half of my journey but here is a bit about my experience.
I got there at 630 for my 730 appt.
People started lining up outside, thank god it's not super hot early in the AM.
Around 7:05 the guards asked us to form two lines 7:15 appts and 7:30 appts. She then divided the 7:30 line into immigrant and non immigrant visas.
One by one we Passed through security at this point. Very important- no electronic devices. So please leave your phones etc in your car or you can go to the photo studio near the embassy and store your stuff for a fee.
Of course the immigrant visa line was not as long as the NIV line, so I felt like we started off moving at a good pace.
The guard at the info desk gives you a brown folder to put all your documents ( medical, visa application, affidavit of support etc). At this point you have a seat and listen for your name and window number.
First you will meet a trini who will (very slowly) go through your documents, take your fingerprints, your birth certificate and your photos(2). She has a checklist that she's working with.
She asked a few questions to clarify whatever she might have been confused about,
Now she was not rude, but she was a bit stern so try not to get freaked out. She's just making sure you have everything.
After a while she told me to have a seat and listen for my name and then go to window 4.
I waited for about one hour and 40 mins for my name to be called. Freaking out!
It wasnt necessary though because The consular officer was nice. Professional, to the point, but nice.
To verify that its you he takes your fingerprint then swears you in.
I had a huge file with emails, Skype history, google voice history etc however he didn't even ask me to see that.
He asked about my fiancée, how we met, his family, my history ( he wanted some clarification on dates)
While he's asking you questions and you are responding he's typing like crazy.
He didn't even ask about our wedding plans.
It was over within 15 mins and I got my much needed waiver form.
All in all a good experience.
Be prepared to wait- take a book, magazine, newspaper something to keep you calm and occupied.
So the toughest part was the waiting.
The first lady checking my docs made me a little nervous, but I just tried to breathe.

I am the petitioner and was wondering if there have been any trinis that have completed their interviews at the TT embassy this year. The last update for TT was last year. Can anyone share any of their experiences. Was the interview easy or hard. Any hiccups?
    Please share.
    Thanks!!

Called and got case number 17 July
19 July Fiancee (USC) got e mail saying NVC had processed petition and sent it to London.
For the avoidance of doubt this is VSC to TSC transfer.
Now just got to wait (really) for it to get to london, wait to get info from them, arrange medical (2 week wait) then wait for appt. There is a theme developing here.

The petition is good for 4 months. That means you have that long to get interviewed. Once the interview is done and approved, that starts another clock. 6 months to use the visa. Once you enter the country, that starts of course another clock. 90 days to get married!!
My girl arrives here next Saturday!!! The last clock starts!!!

I hadn't done the checking around your own case number thing, until just now. Ours ends in a 5 so I went backwards first, and the one ending 2 has had an RFE which they are now checking the applicant's response to! And one ending in 9 when I went up, has had an RFE sent out. I know this is all pretty arbitrary really (I tell myself this, so as not to go mad), but this makes me slightly excited nonetheless
Continued wishes of good luck everyone!
