  1. Its the USCIS immigrant fee for the production of our green card. The petitioner can pay for it after we have received our visa, before we fly to the US. Its paid online here: http://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-immigrant-fee

This is new for me. Thanks for the update. Do you have any idea if it will hasten the issuance of the green card? I heard we can't get a job without it.

  2. To all case complete in Philippines, you can schedule your interview online !!! I did it for my sister. Her interview is on Jan 2. You go to ustraveldocs.com/ph then register and you have to give your passport number and other infos and you can pick your time. So go ahead and do it! Good luck to everyone!!!!no need to wait

I registered last night and the earliest date available is January 9. Is it alright to schedule an interview now as my case was just completed Nov. 8?

  3. Good pm! I would like to ask if anyone of you inquire through email?

Because I tried to inquire through email 3 times and I input all the data they needed but still this is their response.

"Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center (NVC). This e-mail is an auto response. Please do not respond.

We review and reply to e-mails in the order they are received.

    REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

    * Name of the person submitting the inquiry

    * NVC case number or USCIS receipt number

    * Petitioner's name and date of birth

    * Principal Applicant's name and date of birth

NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based (I-140), include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth.

If you did not provide the above security information with your e-mail, please resubmit the e-mail with the required information. If this information was not submitted with your inquiry it will be requested."

I already answered the questions in the asterisk (*). Is there a format in sending them email?

    Thank you very much.

If you provided the required info, its fine. I received replies after 2 weeks.

  4. yaoooooooo!!! my application has been approved my PD is Sept. 30, 2013 and it was assigned to VSC , can someone tell me the next step, i know I have to wait until my pd to be current.

I hope you all have your NOA2 soon

    good luck to all!!!

    That's good news.

NVC will assign u a case number in about a month or less. Then you can fill up DS-261 and DS-260 online. Pay the required fees and submit the civil docs and affidavit of support accordingly. Double check them especially the AOS so you wont get checklists to prevent delays. You will receive instructions thru email. I hope F2a will become current again. Good luck.

  5. hi, i have a few questions:

do we send in separate ds-260 packages, that is one package for me and another one for my son? and also, do we fill in the form, print it out and send it via snail mail?

DS-260 is an online form so it is automatically submitted if you complete it. It requires you to fill up yours and your son's.

and do i need to get a police certificate for him? he's only 2 years old.

Police certificates are for 16 years old and above if I'm not mistaken.

and also, for proving the marriage, we can have a bunch of photos, plane tickets, such stuff.

but do we have to prove the son's relationship to his father seeing as he was born before we got married? you know, do you think they would ask for a DNA test?

Every case if unique so I can't answer this. I hope they don't ask you for DNA test.

and how long does it take NVC to review the case once they receive all the packages? that is, assuming no checklists.

    thanks for your time.

After they enter your docs in their system, DS-260 been completed, it takes 2-4 weeks to be reviewed. You can call them by then to inquire about your case.

  6. hi guys,

I am trying to fill ds-260 and I had 2 questions:

My spouse does not remember the exact dates of the previous year work and education...so do we just approximate....can that create a problem in the future?

secondly my spouse is from health profession so what do we answer to this question:

Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization?

    I am confused....any help appreciated!!!

I put NO in mine for the second question. Health workers need a license to work and has to pass the exam given by the US to get one. That's what I was told.

  7. Yes you can. I did my medical in advance too. Just keep in mind that the medical result is only valid for 6 MONTHS. wink.png

    Congrats on your medical results.

I viewed the online registration and I'd like to ask if it gave you the option to choose the date of the examination after you fill up the form?

I was planning to have ours on the sem break if its possible or do they give you the schedule?

    ______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________
All traveling immigrant visa applicants on your case are required to complete and submit the DS-260
Online Immigrant Visa Application. The DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application replaces the
paper-based DS-230 Immigrant Visa Application. The DS-260 must be completed when NVC is still

    eligible for a visa interview.
You will find instructions for submitting the required forms and supporting civil documents at
Please note the applicant will need the following information to access and complete the DS-260:
    ? NVC case number
    ? Invoice identification number

If you are unsure of, or no longer have, the required identification numbers please contact the NVC by

To avoid delaying your visa(s) we urge you to send the required supporting civil documents, for all
applicants, together in a single submission as soon as possible after submitting the DS-260.
Your case may be involved with paperless processes for submitting forms and documents. At this time,
the availability of paperless processing is limited to selected U.S. Embassies and Consulates. A list of

    ______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________
The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still
waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return
the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

i sent the documents with my ds 230.. den i got a checklist with sum corrections in AOS and was asked to complete ds 260.. so i did that and sent the AOS checklist.. now ive gotten the above checklist.. wot duz it mean?

  9. Hello All,

I am a US Permanent Resident and I have filed the I130 form for my wife (beneficiary) on 4th February 2013. Currently, my case has been shifted to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center and is pending approval there.

In the meantime, my wife, who is currently in India, has shifted from her old address to a new address.

To inform this change of address of the beneficiary, I can't use the online version or the paper version of the Form AR-11 which is only for US Aliens. In her case, she is yet to get any US Visa Status.

Did any of you ever face this kind of a situation before? I am thinking of writing directly to the Nebraska Service Center informing them about the change but I am not sure whether it's the right approach...if any of the Visajourney members have previously faced this situation before then I would really like to know how did you resolve this issue?

Really looking forward to your help on this guys....

    Thanks a lot!

In my opinion, you can make the change of address later when her case is already in NVC since the NOA2 will be mailed to your address in the US, not in India.

  10. You can call NVC and tell them you have already submitted the DS260. You sent the civil docs together with the DS230 right?

You only have to respond to the AOS checklist.

    Thank you.

Yes I did submit the civil docs with the DS230.

I'm worried now since the lady i spoke with last night said they still haven't started reviewing the civil docs when they received it 3 weeks ago and the DS 260 was completed September 6..

  11. Thank you Rostel! smile.png

When did you do this? After you received your case number?

We applied using my maiden name because that time I haven't filed anything yet to change names.

I thought that I needed to use the name (maiden) which is registered in all my legal docs and id's.

And now I wonder if using the married name would've been ok..?

    How bout you? smile.png

I noticed the error in my son's name when I paid the AOS fee.

It was already in the NVC then so we sent a copy of his passport and birth certificate to correct it because that's what the operator said when I called NVC.

Yes, I already have a case number when I sent the correction as I noticed it when we were billed.

You were already married then so using your husband's last name would have been ok.

Call NVC to be sure and to avoid delays too.

  12. Thank you Domitila! smile.png

Does NVC have a change name request?

Or my name will automatically be updated once I send the civil docs?

You can send them the documents (passport or marriage certificate) showing your change of name to NVC Attn: DR.

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

That's what I did and was accepted.

I agree with Domitila that you renew your passport now to avoid problems in filling up your ds260.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you use your maiden name when you filed the petition?

  13. I called NVC and I have to wait for my ds260 to be reviewed before i can make any changes :'(

If u are sure of the error made, the operator will make a request so that they will "unlock" your ds260 and you can edit it. That's what I was told a while ago when I called NVC.

Unfortunately, he said it will take another 20-30 business days daw to process again which makes me wonder if waiting for a checklist would be a better option.
