Fingerprinting at the interview (when it's done) is just for identy verification and is not a full biometrics-style fingerprinting. You should be fine, but in any case, there's not much you can do about it so there's no point in worrying.

Did you fill out and send in the G1145 form?
You don't get case status updates when you put your email address on the N400; you have to do it through the G1145, and even then, that's only for the initial receipt notice... to get continued updates, you need to go online and create and account with the case number from your NOA.

Did you set up an account on the uscis website? Under Tool, you can do this. Then, after setting up the account, you can manually turn on "email notification" and "text notification". Both of these were NOT on yes when I created my account, and I had to switch them from no to yes to receive emails/text alerts.
