  1. 10 months....that's long time. I don't know if anyone is getting approved from Washington office ? Are they really working on any of the I130 at all? No one on VJ has got their approval from DC office this year.

hehe yes it is and I have no idea what is going on...I haven't gotten any request for evidence this whole time so I don't feel they have any valid reasons for holding me up...but yeah...

  2. Well i went ahead and contacted my Congressman Wolf and had a representative call me and I told her i wanted to them to contact on my behalf and have them check to see what was going with my case. That was last week, and i was sent a letter that stated my case was going to adjudicated and is in queue for adjudication and if an interview is needed they will contact me i guess. I cannot wait praying that it does get adjudicated soon. i need an answer soon cause the wait is too long but God willing an answer will be given soon. Hope everyone gets the answers they are looking for because it is really frustrating not being able to see your loved one. But it has made in stronger in bond. Also the representative that i spoke too asked if they were any reason to get it to a service request and she said beside love because the USCIS don't care about that it is a on shame lol.

I haven't tried contacting Congressman as of yet, I tried the CIS ombudsman to check on the uscis and how they were handling my case, they closed my case with them since I mentioned local interview. they analyst assumed that I already had one. I had to call them back and tell them I didn't so now they are looking into it, and I hired a lawyer which some think is pointless, but I don't know where else to turn...im reaching 10 months in 2 weeks. the lawyer did manage to find some discrepancies in my paperwork so hopefully that will resolve things after we supplement with some changes.

  3. sorry you are in this situation.. not really sure why you hired a lawyer .. they can not do anything to help speed up the process. have you contacted any directors? congressman or representative? there are much better routes than throwing your money away with a lawyer... if they told you they can get your case approved faster, they lied

Its not that they told me they can get it approved faster, its the fact that I had them review my paperwork and they found some discrepancies. Besides, its something to do in an attempt to get my wife here. I'm not sure why u automatically assume that paying for a lawyer is throwing money away, maybe u have had a bad experience im not sure, but I tried it on my own, im in almost ten months and they haven't given me my local interview, definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over so im trying something new. All congressman and representatives can do is to do exactly what the cis ombudsman is doing which is trying to get uscis to give a reason for the delay. that hasn't worked for me yet so the lawyer is the next route. I have nothing to lose, its just money, and if it CAN get my wife here...then it will be money well spent...if not then it was worth a try...

  4. I am waiting for NOA2 from past 8 months & still haven't heard anything. They didn't even tell me in my infopass that they need to interview me. They just said, "we have your file but we don't know when we will look into it". Do you know if anyone has got approval from DC office since August 2012? I don't see any approvals from this office on VJ....grrrrrrr...pulling my hair out sad.png

I can definitely sympathize. I have reached 8 months coming on 10 months in a couple weeks. I have reached out to the CIS Ombudsman and they are reviewing my case but it doesn't look promising. It seems that the USCIS is holding on to my case, doing nothing, then will deny me. I have since enlisted the help of a lawyer to attempt to fix things so I advise you do the same if at all possible. Hard to believe that this is happening to me for no good reason known or made known to me...just celebrated my 1 year anniversary by visiting my wife's country and having to leave her yet again...very hard indeed....

  5. So on Monday, I went to my info pass appointment with USCIS, cause it's been over 5months since i heard anything about my case. Well my appointment was in DC (fairfax city), but yeah went there (got complimented on my toe) lol weird! but any who their was no wait b/c of the time i went. Well as soon as i got my ticket it was called and went to the window 8 the lady was very sincere and ask me what i was here for and i told her that i needed to know what was going with my case and she said ok she will check when it was delivered to there office and well she said that in june i should expect an interview and so the waits continue, but at least i know when i will be expecting and an interview and she also made me write down on a piece of paper to keep for their records what i came here for and so on so forth. She told me if i was to travel to make sure to get another info pass appointment to let them know. But she was nice and very understanding and i have a feeling that my interview date might be earlier...*praying that it does happen*

I had my infpass appt 4-26-13...i've now reached 7 months and I know for sure that my case has been at the washington office for about 3 months or so. I'm glad they at least gave you a month because they didnt give me one at all nor could they give me a real reason that they needed to interview me. I have since submitted for the CIS ombudsman to look into my case and what they are doing with it. Has anyone else on here had to do a local interview ?

  6. I had an infopass after reaching waiting 7 months for my NOA2, it wasnt very successful as they requested that I do a local interview but couldnt let me know when that would happen. It's going to vary i suppose but the normal processing time is 3-5 months, they may not let you know much since you havent technically reached "out of processing" times which is greater than 5 months but who knows. i wish you the best!

  7. sometimes, somedays, i felt like i was throwing a bucket of paint up against a 1000 ft wall, just watch the spray pattern with no results.

I learned to ask pointed questions at the infopass, and learned how to knock the people behind the windows out of their comfort zone.

The people behind the windows are NOT the people handling adjudication, and is useful to get them to actually do some work for you, as opposed to them keeping in their auto-track of bullsh|t answers.

Here's my list of questions - perhaps you can refactor them a bit and use them, on yer next infopass appointment:

    Good Luck !

Thanks anything is worth a try at this point. For the longest I couldnt even schedule an infopass appointment with the Washington field office because everything was booked, then all of a sudden I could. Then they hit me with the local interview nonsense and couldnt really tell me why...:( im praynig that the Ombudsman can get me to the next step...

  8. I'm a bit late but I too received my NOA1 in October...sadly I am still waiting...2 days from 7 months. I havent had an RFE's and I've called USCIS countless times, talking to level two and I had an infopass appointment where they finally tell me last week that they want to do a local interview with me but wouldnt let me know when it would be...i have since submitted assistance with the CIS Ombudsman...this is getting more difficult by the day...
