  1. Hello all

So, I was just reading the instructions form for i751 and noticed the paragraph about the change of address. After looking into it more I realized I should have notified them after we moved into our own apartment within ten days.

My question is, what do I do now? I'm guessing I should complete the online change of address form, but would it be the pending application one as I received the notice I can submit the i751 form for ROC? I will also put our new address on the i751 form. Also, has anyone done the same thing, and if so what were your experiences with this? How serious is this? I plan on calling them tomorrow to let them know what happened too.

    Thanks

  2. Hello all,

The time for removing conditions has come around, so we're back...

On the I-751 form there are spaces I don't have any information to put in, such as middle name, child info, interpreter info. Should I just leave those sections blank, or do I need to put in 'none' n/a' etc?

Do we need to submit new photographs?

Regarding evidence, we are going to submit our joint tax return. Do we have to submit the whole thing, or do we just have to submit a particular form?

Also, for some reason I thought that I would get it renewed before my current card expired, but looking at the time lines I guess not. Do I need to get a stamp in my passport to cover me for the time being?

    Thanks

  3. Thanks!

I'm sure I've read on here you should get it updated, once you've got your permanent status. I guess there's no huge rush then, if you don't have to until you're a citizen?

Also, this is probably a silly question... but.. now that I have a green card, and I'm a permanent resident, I don't need to renew my EAD card once it expires?

    Thanks again

  4. Hi,

So I received my Green card recently, and realised I need to update my Social Security Card, as it currently says "authorized to work in the US with documentation" or something to that effect. Just wondering what I should send along with the form so they can update my card. Would a copy of my green card do? A copy of the welcome letter?

Also, I recently re-entered the country on a green card stamp too, now that I'm a permanent resident I don't need to get an i94 anymore correct? I just show my green card/stamp along with my passport and that's it. Don't have to do anything else?

    Thanks all

  5. Your I-94 was good for 90 days from your entry in November 2013. It is expired and over.

If you have a greencard with you, there will be no problem reentering the US. Had you applied for the free Advanced Parole along with your AOS, you would have gotten it by May and could have used it for travel until your greencard was approved.

Just wondering, do you know if the temporary green card stamp is literally a stamp? It's not something I have to wait to get done? It would just get stamped there and then at the infopass appt?

  6. Hi,

I recently got my permanent status approved, and will hopefully get my Green Card stamp this week, whilst I wait for my actual card to arrive. Just had a question about the i94 and the GC.

I arrived in the US in November 2013, and got married in January 2014, within the 90 day period. I filed for AOS in February. I'm assuming that because I filed for AOS a couple of weeks after marrying that is not considered overstaying? Also, I believe my i94 expired sometime in November, but my AOS didn't actually get approved till December. I shouldn't have any trouble re-entering the US with regards to that when I travel abroad?

Do I need the i94 that I got when I entered the country anymore? Will it effect anything in any way?

    Thanks

  7. Congratulations! It's really good news! I think it would take around a week for you to get GC. Can I ask when did you file I 485? and when did you receive interview waiver letter?

    Thanks :)

Thanks! I really should update our time line. I filed back in February, and received the waiver letter June 3rd. I don't think you were too long after? So hopefully you get yours soon too!

  8. Recently traveled with AP EAD, had ZERO problems, was outside the US for 5 weeks, all you need: AP EAD card, marriage certificate. For more, you can read my review as for EAD AP travelling: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/524061-my-eadap-combo-card-travel-experience-at-chicago-airport/

    Good luck and don´t stress!

Thanks for that. Good news.. I just checked my case status and it said they ordered my new card today. Hopefully it gets here by the time I leave next week.

Did you have to do anything with the advance parole before you left? Did you have to inform anyone, or show anyone the card?

  9. AP is for travel while you are waiting for your GC. What else is a K-1 visaholder supposed to do while they have to wait approximately 90 days after the filing of the I-485 just to get the GC if the USCIS was living up to there processing times--which they are not. The AP form is a multi-purpose form and as a former K-1 visaholder you can apply to be allowed to re-enter the US using AP for normal travel. Expect to be taken into secondary inspection and allow plenty of time for that secondary inspection. The USCIS does state in #3 of the instructuons how the AP works for as Avande Parole and does have a warning about re-entry not being guaranteed.

With all things in immigration it does depend on who you encounter at your POE, but you should be fine. There are stories of people having no issues and some of people having problems. YMMV. Just be prepared for the worst, stay calm, and be pleasant.

Take your AP, your passport, the K-1 visa if it happens to be in a different passport, a copy of your Marriage Ceritifcate amd a copy of the NOA1 for the AOS just so you are prepared.

    Have a good trip,

    Dave

Thanks. I thought I had seen people use it for normal travel. Figured visiting family during the holidays would be a good enough reason, especially as I'm still waiting on my GC as I'm out if normal processing times.

I know you're not Garunteed entry, but that's the same with the green card and any visa. I'll just bring my notices, letters and my k1 with me to be prepared.

  10. I received my Waiver letter on June 3rd... and hadn't heard anything by November. Called them on November 13th, and they said they would inquire as to the status of my case. Received a letter last week saying they had no information on when my application would be processed... little bit annoying. Checked my online status and it still says "fingerprint fee received, we are working on your case". Hopefully I will hear something soon if people from June 5th are receiving their GC. Getting a little silly now..
