  1. Hi all!

I have a question and I wondered if anyone can answer it for me. smile.png

My K1 visa interview in London was on the 2nd August. It has been "Ready" up until today when the creation date and status update date has changed to today's date (September 4th)

Does anyone have any idea why the dates have changed and is this a good sign? smile.png

    Thank you. smile.png

Hey misspatrick judging by the comments on the London forums this is good news

  2. I know what you mean.. its just tough when family are breathing down your neck trying to get certainties out of you! I really dont want to disappoint anyone.

Out of interest, do you know what kind of average time people are waiting for their visa delivery? We opted to have it delivered to the south london depot because we can drive there in an hour instead of waiting extra days for delivery.

Yea thats not a bad idea. I think "on average" people are waiting around 5-6 working days. But im going to monitor the recent visa interviewees to see how long its taking them

and maybe add 2-3 days to that for people getting courier delivery

  3. I'm so furious. Not only does this mean that, given my interview date and the 10+ working day wait for the visa courier, I'm looking at flying out literally the day before my wedding at the earliest (that's if I book my ticket the day the visa arrives), but also that the 23rd is the only date my GP can give me the last 2 vaccines I need for AOS.

What day is your wedding booked for?

  4. Hi Azsara

Thanks. I plan to get up and walk there it's not too far from where I live.

I called DoS today they have not sent it out yet. But they received the packet 3 I sent them they said. It was also updated on CEAC website today.

So typically how long did it take to get your interview letter once they received your packet 3?

It took about 19 days for them to send me my interview letter from the day they signed for my packet 3 so just under 3 weeks x

  5. Still didn't receive packet 3 so I called dos now and they said packet 3 has not been sent out yet. They did however receive the packet 3 I sent them and have logged it on today and I will be getting a letter in a week or so with a interview date. She went as far as to say good for you for not waiting lol. So thanks guys for the advice to send the forms in otherwise I would still be waiting.

Also update on Dos number for anyone wanting to contact them. From the 6th September Dos number has changed to 2024857600

The letter with your interview date will be packet 4 that probably wont come for a little while yet until they have sent your packet 3 :)

Hope your medical goes well tomorrow best of luck!

  6. Maybe get a printout of the x-ray and frame it? Could make some pretty cool wall art?

Also, unrelated, Interview technically tomorrow (5th), despite checking everything several times and constantly reading this site, I can't help but be nervous. I'm sure I know the exact process of what happens at the interview after reading so many of the reviews. Just feels weird to be at this stage.

Good luck! I know what u mean about it feeling weird to be at this stage, feels like its all come so quick since NOA2

  7. I think I've just about lost my last it of patience and I think loosing my marbles will be shortly to follow.

I've been waiting not so patiently but I've been waiting all the same for the embassy to log my forms and assign me a interview date,I received a update 29th&30th August via the ceac status tracker.so I was really excited thinking this was the logging of my forms and my interview date assigned.I called dos to confirm this and the last update they can see for Me is a email the embassy sent me (this was the update I received before the other two) the lady from dos even read out the email the embassy sent me word for word.they said they can't see a further update then this . my ceac status updated twice since then, either that or this processes has sent me completely insane and I'm seeing things lol.I'm not sure if I should be happy and think dos for whatever reason aren't telling me of my last two updates(it wouldn't be the first time I've been told information that wasn't accurate during this process after all)and expect packet 4 to turn up within the next week days

Or if I should be pissed off that my ceac updated for no reason what so ever.I guess I will find out which one of those I should feel within the next day or two but it's got to the point now where every day seems like a week and every week seems like a month.

    sad.png

Jola im pretty sure those last updates were your interview date you just need to wait for the letter should be any day now

  8. Do they all live in Florida?

I responded quite conversationally and as such it flowed quite naturally and in total I think I was done in under 8-9 minutes. After confirming my travel plans and that I'd arranged the courier/collection She said "well that's all fine, your visa is approved" I stood there for a second and asked if that was it. She responded by saying that I could go and sit in the waiting area for as long as I liked as that was free smile.png so clearly had a good sense of humor.

I completely agree that there was distinct anticlimax to it after over 10 months of build up and was amazed at how little they asked for after I meticulously put together duplicates of virtually every document we've looked at together with additional evidence. but am so happy and over the moon that it''s all done with. We're getting married on the 11th October so It means I can travel over well before the wedding and really can't wait smile.png

Good luck to everyone waiting whether it's for NOA1, NOA2, Case Numbers, Medicals or interviews. It'll all be worth it in the end wink.png

    Rob

Lovely thanks for sharing :) Congrats again!

  9. See it wasn't at all clear about which DS forms we should actually send early. The stuff she found said to send only the DS230pt1 and the Ds2001 readyness form. Should she send the other ones now as well?

The website states she needs to send all the forms http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

    Forms

All these need to be sent

    Step One

Complete the Form DS-230-Part 1, Form DS-156 and DS-157 for each family member applying for a visa. In addition, the principal applicant is also required to complete form DS-156K. Note: Forms DS-156 and DS-157 must be completed in duplicate. If a question does not apply to you, please mark it with a N/A. The completed form(s) should be mailed to the Immigrant Visa Unit. See "Contact and Mailing Address" on the right-hand side of the page. Note: The failure to return the forms promptly will delay the processing of your application.

    Thats it smile.png

P.S and the DS-2001 if you are ready and have everything

  10. The envelope you got today has your xray cd in it (you should be able to feel it) - you can open that if you want (I did, and put my xray on flickr, although that envelope wasn't sealed - it was already cut open when I got it).

So we are okay to use the CD and have a look at the xray? Im curious to see what mine looks like especially since they said I had scoliosis

  11. whens her medical booked for? The consulate definitely know who you are if they have touched your file so you are safe to go ahead and send packet 3 before they send it to you. (if you look at my timeline i sent my packet 3 before i received it). But I dont think there is really any advantage to doing so, as they seem to only open your case once they have the medical results and ds-2001 and even then its usually a good couple of weeks before they register you have everything for an interview date to be assigned

  12. well, ceac told us it was 'ready' this whole time, then on thursday it went to 'AP' ... then friday 'ISSUED'

I been calling the couriers since to see if they have got it but they don't, so praying they get it tomorrow and I get a call. They called me back and said its likely they will get it today or tomorrow so fingers crossed. I really really hope all you others get some news soon too, this wait is really unbearable, much worse then waiting for interviews or NOA2's in my opinion!

    xXx

I REALLY hope they get it tomorrow, God knows you have been waiting long enough! You will make it for your wedding with time to spare

  13. Thanks guys, we think it was just advice too. The Asian lady didn't take everything we had, not even half of it. No tax returns, no pay stubs, no social security letter. He might not have known she meets the threshhold, and he did call it "advice".

The main hassle was that they didn't put my fiance on the access list despite sending me an e-mail saying they would. The woman at the end of the queue (blonde haired English sounding woman) was a complete cow and had a bad attitude. "No, he ain't on it, he's not coming in" and told me to ask inside the Embassy, but wasn't very helpful as to where I had to ask. So basically I had to kick up a fuss and go in to reception and insist on him being allowed in, they had to call through to the Consular bit and give them my case # and sit on the phone for 5 minutes, then they said he can come in and they'll send an e-mail down to security; then I asked if anyone was going to fetch him otherwise how would he know, and she looked around confused and said "I could ask my colleague" but still seemed pretty confused, so I said shall I go back out and get him? Then she said yes and if I have problems to come back. I go through to security, they say they don't know and speak to the horrid blonde woman again. "NO, I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO E-MAIL, SPEAK TO SECURITY". I told her they just told me to speak to her, and she pretty much just shrugged it off. I went and spoke to another security guard, the one waiting outside the Embassy, and kicked up a stink saying I'm being passed around from pillar to post and at this rate, I'm going to miss my appointment. So he went inside and was checking around on a computer for 5 minutes and then said my fiance could come in with me.

The older looking quiet Asian lady was actually very funny. She was quite smiley today and she noticed I work for British Gas, and proceeded to talk loads about how rubbish they are, how they never come out and it took them nearly a month to fix her boiler, and they are very expensive. I found it amusing to say the least lol. She seemed quite relaxed and I asked if she needed the other stuff as she didn't take much and just said "nah" and made me do biometrics.

Our interview was with a younger looking, serious American man with a suit and tie on with a beard and short hair. He asked us quite a lot of questions (not in a mean way), but just seemed like he was someone who was very thorough. We were there for what seemed like around 10 minutes, and he asked about 15-20 questions, with about two directed at my fiance. After a while he said "well everything seems in order here, I am willing to approve your visa" and he gave me some pointers like saying I need authorisation to work, must get married/AOS within 90 days and if I don't I'll be deported, then the stuff about the financial requirements. He did ask more than I expected and it did seem more formal than I expected, but it turned out well in the end regardless.

All in all, I thought the medical was a lot easier than the Embassy. But it's over with now. smile.png

Thanks for sharing! It sounds a little traumatic! What kind of questions did he ask apart from the usual, how did you meet etc.

    Oh and congrats!

  14. In my defence I'm not in the posh areas of North Camp, I'm in one of the blocks of flats. But.. yeah, wow. Just like a lot of times you read about people recognising other VJ posters at the embassy and all.

Well lovely to speak to you neighbour :)

Cheers for that. It's down the road on the right as you approach the embassy.

Visa has been approved! Interview was really easy just lots of sitting around and waiting :-) I got the icl at first who was really nice although mumbles quite a bit so i could only just make it what she was saying lol

Amazing news Rob congrats to you both!
