I can verify that, even though our letter also said get the medical two weeks before the interview, it wasn't an issue to do the interview sooner than two full weeks. I don't know why they put that in there, but we took the first available interview slot, which was less than two weeks after we got the packet, and had no issues with the medical. Good luck.

We are super happy that I got the visa in hand, it came on Friday just like my fiance predicted.it only took me 5 days from interview to have it, We guess it's cuz the consulate is only a block away from the bank.

In the Friday's afternoon I came to citic bank and asked if they already have my visa when the status is origination scan , yet they said they didn't have it .in the evening I suddently receive an email from CGI telling me my visa is ready to pick up. We are so excited about that! I kinda doubt the bank might not open at weekend, but my fiance told me to have a shot. So I went to picked it up on saturday morning. There were lots of people taking their visa in the bank. I waited like more than 1hr, and got my visa in hand! Yay! Luckily the bank open at the weekend from 10am to 3pm. Never try, never know

Today is 520(means I love you in chinese), a love day , and the first day the consulate reopen for the visa interview. Lucky me ^^

This morning at around 10:40 am, my visa got approved by a pretty asian VO She asked a few questions, some of them are kinda LOL, it went pretty quick like less than 10 mins though. All the stuffs like photoalbum i brought ,she didn't even give a peek LOL. I spent a lot of time on making the photoalbum, i was expected she would have a look. Oh well as long as i got approve, that's all matter. Super happy~

I couldn't wait to meet my fiance>.< Im pretty excited. Wish i could jump on the airplane right now. Everyday is getting so much closer now. Yay~

Regarding appointments at the US Consulate General in Guangzhou:
The U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou has canceled nonimmigrant and immigrant visa interviews scheduled at its Tianyu office for Tuesday through Friday, May 14-17. An email notice has been sent to all applicants affected by the closure at the email address provided at the time they booked their appointments. Affected applicants can reschedule for a later date at no additional charge.

There's an actual P3 that come in the mail. It was recently changed, so the form on Visajourney isn't quite the same anymore. Basically, it is a checklist that lists the three things that need to be returned to the consulate along with the checklist itself. I believe it requested the DS-230 part one completed, a couple of passport photos and a copy of her information page from her passport. Those, along with the checklist are mailed back to the consulate. Xiaoyun did it the same day as she received it, and it was only a couple of days until P4. P4 is just an email telling you that you can pay and set up an appointment.

CGI Stanley isn't bad. She'll need to go to Citic bank or pay the fee with her Chinese debit card, then you'll get a receipt number. Just input the receipt number and away you go. Click on schedule appointment, boom. Then there's the medical, which is a walk-in thing, no appointment. Go early in the morning, results in the afternoon.

U.S. officials say an envelope containing an unidentified substance was sent to the U.S. Consulate General in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, disrupting operations at the diplomatic building.

Deputy spokesman Justin Higgins at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing says the envelope was opened Monday in an office where visa interviews are conducted. Higgins says interviews scheduled for Tuesday have been cancelled while an investigation is carried out.

He says no one was injured and that precautionary measures have been taken for employees present when the substance was discovered. He would not describe the substance, which he says has yet to be identified.

The website of Guangzhou's Yangcheng Evening News reported that the substance was a powder and that it had sprinkled onto an employee's clothes.

Finally approved guys. Submitted August 8 to Vermont, got an RFE two weeks ago for missing one question on one form, then got approval today. Eight months to the day. Woohoo!

Hey , does anyone know is it ok send a scan copy of the intent to marry (RFE)or It must to be an original one with handwritten signature?

Here is the story: my friend she sent her original the intent to marry when they sent their package to VSC. After six months waiting, she got a RFE of intent to marry. She did submited the intent to marry , and they asked for it again. So to save time, she just scanned the intent to marry with handwritten signature to her fiance, and her fiance printed it out and sent it back to the VSC. Would this be ok?

Hello everyone...I've got a question and am hoping that someone else has experienced something similar.

On 3/18, I received a notification of an RFE - the ususal...my case is suspended until I reply. I'm waiting on the hard copy to find out exactly what they need. Today, 3/20, my case status was updated again with an RFE notification. I called USCIS and they refused to tell me if it's a duplicate or if it's a separate RFE that will need a response.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it happened to us,too. My friend who also got a rfe explain to me that the first update is the vsc notice us we got a rfe, the second update is the date vsc really send the mail out to us.we got the second update on march 18th, still waiting for the hardcopy,,,

Thank you Guys. We finally got news from the VSC on March 14th, we got RFE. Still I'm being thankful ,at least we know they are working on it.
