Please update. Thank you.

I think you and your wife should be ok. The K1 visa was cancelled by the man and the consulate over a year ago, hence it is no longer valid. She was not married to the man.
Follow MeredythB's suggestion and best of luck!

I sent a copy of my SSC showing the address. Maybe you could add that.
Even if you don't have a car or don't plan to drive, your husband can get a Learner's Permit. Your parents can add him on their Insurance plan (I don't think it costs much for a Learner's Permit). Try a different DMV office.

I sent pictures because I thought they would support my case. It certainly did with the I-130 and I-485
If you don't think pictures are needed in your case, then don't send them.

We have been together since 2005.
1. We do not have a joint account, for some reason, he doesn't like the idea to have a joint account, he's saying that we don't have money to safe and he's paying for everything, I don't have income, I have been shopping for myself with all his credit cards, and he never complains paying for me for everything, always asks me if I need money for whatever. He said what's the point to have a joint account. I told him that we need a joint account as one of the evident document to show the immigration that we're legit and it's for real. He disagreed with me and said that's ridiculousness requirement to judge if it's a real marriage or not. Finally, I convinced him to open a joint account, and it has been delayed, there is always something comes up. So, at the end of the Jan, we still have not opened a joint account yet.
I and my husband have been together since 2003. We do, however, have a joint checking account since January 2011.
I think you should get a joint account now and ask your husband to write a letter explaining why you do not have one until now and pray that the USCIS will understand.
How did you file tax return for 2011 and 2012? If you filled jointly, then make sure to request tax transcripts and send them with the package.
2. My name is not on any utility bills, not on phone bill, not on TV/Internet bill, he did not put my name in his family health insurance plan. His insurance is under his parent's family plan. Since his father is a doctor, I do not pay anything to his father when I need to see a doctor, his Dad covers everything for me. Whenever I need to see other doctors, we will pay cash, he pays before I got this job, and now I pay the doctor bill whenever I have to. He said it's is a waste to add me into his parents' family health plan.
We don't have any utility bills as it's covered by the lease. We don't have a home phone, TV and/or Internet bill either. We do, however, have cell phone bills. My name is not on the statement, but I am the authorized user. So, do you have a cell phone?
We never have health insurance as we don't think it's necessary, and it costs too much. I work in a clinic, so I and my husband can get treatment as needed.
3. We do not have life insurance, we do not have kids, in our opinion, life insurance is needed when you have children.
We do not have life insurance either.
4. We do not have children. We do not want to have children just to prove that we are legit to immigration, that's just absurd. We're still too young and too ambitious with our career right now, do not want to have children. and we're working so hard to ensure a great future and in better financial situation for the children.
We do not have children either, even though the subject comes up at times
What we have are photos that we all took together with his family (parents and siblings) with my family (parents and my cousins and relatives), the trips we did together with the families.
I sent in a collage with pictures taken for Xmas 2012 with my husband's family: his parents, his sister, niece, and brother-in-law. Also collages with pictures at the beach, road trip, my husband's birthday, etc.
I am writing this to show you that everyone case is different and you are not alone. Do the best you can with what you have. You and your husband are together since 2005, so I think 8-year relationship should count for something. You may write a letter to USCIS and explain the situation. Who is going to be with someone for 8 years just to "fake" a marriage
You might receipt an RFE or even an interview. Be prepared and good luck!

Received Biometrics letter on Saturday 01/26/2013. Appointment date is 02/11/2013.
Please update. Thank you.

I and my husband signed with a water based black ink. No problem.
-
I know RFE is "request for evidence"
What does EB mean?
Thanks...
I believe it means Early Bio

NOA Receipt date: 01/17/2013 (Receipt time is 20:39 ???)
NOA Receive date: 01/22/2013
Check cashed this morning by ACH Debit - VSC FIELD OFFICE PAYMENT
Please update. Thank you

My package was delivered on the 16th and my check was not cashed yet. I called the bank today (the 22nd) and they told me that it usually takes 3 days, and given Monday was a holiday, the check will probably be cashed tomorrow.
I do, however, receive the NOA today.

Quick question please. my driver's license expires on Thursday 01/24/2013 which is the expiration date on my 2-year GC. I received the NOA today (thank God) and I was so relieved. Would I be able to renew my license for another year? I have to drive to work
Thank you.

Your Item's Status
Your item was delivered at 11:22 am on January 16, 2013 in SAINT ALBANS, VT 05478 to INS . The item was signed for by D RENAUD.
I used Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation. The package was sent on Monday 01/14/2013 around 3:00PM. The local contract post office did not have any Express Mail envelope big enough for my file or I would have used Express Mail. But at the end, the delivery time is the same.

hi everyone!
its been a long time. my wife is now a USC and she wants to bring her parents to the US now. but we have a problem, her mother lost her lost birth certificate, she is having trouble getting another copy of it. anyone here know how we can get another copy of it? i have no idea where to even start looking of calling. my wife is just asking me to help her. thanks for any help that you guys can provide.
That's fairly easy and the fee is very reasonable to do in Viet Nam. All she has to do is to go to the place (county/city/, etc.) where the birth was registered. She can get a "Ban sao" or an Extract of the original birth certificate. Tell her to get multiples just in case
It's a similar process in the U.S when my husband wants to get his certified birth certificate (he is a U.S-born)
-
I assume you have the certified originals. I do the translation myself and stating the following:
"I, my name, undertake that this is true and correct English version translated from the original in Vietnamese attached hereto."
-
I just copy this from the actual notarized version.
"I, my name, undertake that this is the true and correct English version translated from the original in Vietnamese attached hereto."
singed
That's it.
-
I have done Option 3. At first, I had a translated version which was notarized by the government officials; they are my birth certificate and high school transcripts. Then it became inconvenience to mail documents to the U.S, so I translated them myself. All you have to do is to say at the bottom that you certify that the translation is true and accurate and sign your name. If you have the translated version, just copy the wording from the notary.
I have not had any problems with USCIS.

Does he intend to carry her studying until a visa number is available?
Yes. My sister entered the U.S in 2008/2009 (she was 16/17 at the time) and attended high school here. She is in college now and will be 21 in February.
-
Your Father wants to emigrate to the US and is OK leaving your Sister?
My sister is 21 now and she is here on F1 student visa.
-
I keep my maiden name as the Vietnamese women generally don't change their last name after marriage.
I agree that you should wait until the immigration process is complete and you get your GC to change your last name.
-
When my husband filed I-130 for me, my uncle was my sponsor. He is living in the U.S and is married; he and his wife filed tax jointly. I believe there is a separate form that my aunt-in-law had to sign. No problem with the USCIS.
-
I have a similar situation and I just file to Remove my Conditions. So I expect to get my 10-yr GC next year, then I will file N-400. Probably take another 6 months. Then I will file I-130 for my father which should take another 6 months and then he will go through the Consular processing for his GC. After that my father will petition my sister who will be under F2B (my sister is over 21)
I think this should be the fastest way to go. Any thoughts? Thank you.
