All I can say is hire a lawyer with enough credentials to deal with complicated cases. Better to be safe than to be sorry. Good Luck!

We met through Facebook on Nov 2009 but met face to face on august 2012. We became friends and played a couple of vampire games together but did not start a relationship until nov 2011. Through all the time we spent as friends we slowly realized we were almost perfect for each other and we had feelings for one another also, so we decided to give it a chance! It was the best decision of our lives!

Thank you very much!! I will keep u guys informed of all our situation, Im really hoping for the best now!

Not only I do not agree with you on this one, as I believe the K-1 process should be longer, more demanding and require far more scrutiny. You need not look much farther than this forum to find out countless reports of those who were scammed by foreign fiances/fiancees.
The question I ask you in return is, how can you not envisage spending a few months away from the very person with whom you will swear to spend the rest of your life?
Totally right in this one... the time apart, on a k1 or a cr1 visa will make a couple stronger... or fall apart. That is the whole point of this long process if you ask me. I believe they could have made this process shorter but they want to see which couples are truthful and which ones are not!

If the new job provides enough income and he still has some savings, the delay should be short.
Do you know how long would he have to be working for the letter of employment be acceptable?

With a household of eight (I know the sponsor isn't sponsoring eight.) it's hard to blame them. There ARE a lot of "what if's". You know the solution though. He comes back and gets a job that makes enough money to qualify. He was going to need to do that anyway. This is just a change in timing. One other consideration that comes to mind though is that in the off chance he is behind in his child support, his passport will probably be suspended when he comes back. If that happens you won't see him again until you have your visa and use it. If this is not a concern, please disregard my mention of it.
Well, we understand its hard to blame them but they could have told us before so we would have taken other measures. But that is in the past now.
As far as child support, he has been paying it punctually from his savings account. We had enough to cover it.
He is coming back to the States next week, he has a job offer already so we hope this delay will not be that much!
Thanks

Well... after months of being so sure they were gonna help us, they decided not to because they think there are too many what ifs...
This is a great set back to us!!! Now my husband will have to go back to the states and find a job and hope he can make enough to meet the income requirements ( we are eight members in the household, including his three kids from his previous marriage)
As we do not have any other option for sponsorship, this is not looking good to us.
I just wish they would had told us no since the beggining. My husband could have stayed in the states if they had and found a job. He decided to come down here and take some time off due to injuries he had at his previous job, but i guess that just harmed us in the long way in this process.

It really seems to me it was an arranged marriage. I do know in Indian culture this is very common but just because its part of your culture does not mean its the best for you! I would say you both are better away from each other, because love will not keep you strong and together. I do not see how you feel cheated if everything started wrong since the beginning!! Yo do not go looking for a spouse like they were a cd player or a microwave... Thats just wrong to me. Besides it seems to me you two did not spend time together trying to know each other enough. And still trying to understand how a man can think a woman has to be sexually aroused everytime he wants just because she is married to him. You should go to your nearest courthouse and find out about the divorce, or hire a lawyer. Good luck!!

Greetings, and Congrats! I was wondering when you recieved the approval for the application...or first recieved the i-797??? I just recieved mine for my husband on January 25th and he is from guatemala as well. Just wondering out of curiosity...thank you for your time !
well...Im not sure... As we hired a lawyer to help us with this process they receive all physical mail. We just got the email notification.
Our case is now on NVC and we are currently waiting for the sponsors to mail all the documents and forms to them!! Hopefully at the end of this week...wish us luck!!

He can blame his culture all day and night, but a good man doesn't do those things no matter how he is raised and you can not make a bad person good.
And Im sorry you are going through all this. I hope you find the right answer for you and your daughter!

Thank you !
how long it took the AOS to be billed ( ready to be paid) for you?
It took two days for the bill to show as paid from the moment we paid. It was available to be paid as soon as we got the mail with the Invoice identification number and NVC number.
Why do you love your significant other?

First... its really hard to choose from a wide variety of things but... I will try...
He is a very loving and caring husband... he worries about every little thing, including locking the doors at night. (yeah... this place can get quite unsafe at night)
He is patient and understanding... Sometimes when I lose it... He just listens and then discusses things when I get calm.
He is my other half... I mean he complements me so good, even though we are different in certain things...
He is a future planner... we have discussed and planned our future together in the states!
He is very good with numbers! and yes... I suck at them...
He is sexy... and the most handsome guy I have ever met!!
He makes me laugh a lot... he has this natural sense of humor that comes out when I most need it...
He is very family oriented... and wants to spend time with us as much as possible..
His amazing blue eyes!!! That can change color depending on what he wears...( I know... they are blue with traces of green so depends on light reflection I guess...)
the way he loves me back... I know he feels for me what I feel for him...
The fact he is always telling me how beautiful I am... Even though I am self-concious it lets me see his perception of me.
and... Hes a true Southern Gentleman!! and I love the way he talks!!
