  1. My wife and I married through Utah online, then flew to Thailand to meet, and filed our paperwork as soon as we got back to our home countries a month later. I was lucky enough to file locally at the consulate in Germany so things moved quick. Anyways, there is no issues with marrying online with no prior meet ups. They don't even bat an eye at it. You WILL have to meet AFTER the marriage at least once before you can file.
  2. Reached out to senator to see if anything could be expedited since we're expecting, overseas and something could clash. Was really expecting to hear about an appointment by now.
  3. I'm doing fingerprints today..I see some people send a biometric payment. Do I need to do that if I send in fingerprint cards?
  4. So we filed the N-400 on the 6th and the 7th they received and sent a "schedule biometrics" appointment letter as well and we have until June 14 to get it done. Being overseas we can do it on base and I was wondering how quickly after sending biometrics are people seeing the scheduled interview/oath? The USCIS says for the typical 5 year to expect 11 months, but could we see something quicker since we were accepted under the 319b? At what point would I reach out to Atlanta USCIS to ask for a one day interview/oath?
  5. Looks like I need to get started on this... We have green card since December and want to take advantage of this 319b provision. Looks like there is no issues filing this online? We can elect to have fingerprints done at interview or have them down overseas and mail them? We do not need to do a I-751 and pay the fee if we get scheduled before the 90 day window?
  6. Does anyone know if consulates can do oath ceremonies overseas? Or if the application and ceremony has be done stateside?
  7. I'm an overseas DoD contractor with more than a year left on my contract.
  8. So my wife just got her entry stamp and we're looking to start the N-400 process. She is from Vietnam and getting a name change there to take my last name seemed like a complicated mess that we will undertake in the future. I've read during the N-400 process my wife can have her last name changed to mine. I am however confused from reading the pinned post about having the marriage cert show a name change.our marriage cert doesn't list a name change on it and only her maiden name. So will the ceremony need a judicial hearing? Or does the marriage cert act as eligibility to get a name change?
  9. Still no change on CEAC but i had my wife check her email Friday and she had a email with tracking number and be should be here today.
  10. I was able to go into consulate with my wife on Tuesday and was with her through the entire thing but the interview. The officer requested I go sit down. It was quite the experience as we could tell when we would be called to the window after the lady in front of us and the officer spent a lot of time looking through papers. Come to find out, she had placed a marker on one divorce certificate and setup a lead of questions for my wife. It was pretty evident she was fishing for responses and wanted a timeline spoken by her and to hit some topics. The main issue being a short marriage with a German a year prior who ended up leaving after 7 weeks. Of course, my wife knew about all of this and was prepared to answer any questions. The officer actually framed it like "Are you aware your husband was married two times before and you're his third wife?" ... "Even the short marriage to a German?" Felt like if my wife didn't prepare and answer with more than short responses it would have been a refusal, to be honest. Anyways, after the questioning, she said "Tell your husband congratulations". Kind of sucks I wasn't apart of that to hear, but we were excited none the less and celebrated after. My question is how long after the interview does the CEAC site update and did some receive their passports back? We still see no update on CEAC since Tuesday. ...there were some more questions she was asked. Will try and put them in another response or consulate review.
  11. Good to know. We will say that when we go. Maybe they will let me attend with her. Would simplify things when paying the fees and answering financial questions. I hear they could have questions regarding income with Foreign Earned Income Exclusion.
  12. So you were able to attend the interview with your wife? They wrote back in an email and said only her..so curious
  13. Anyone know if only the interviewee is able to attend, or if the spouse can also attend the interview? Anyone who has done an interview recently?
  14. For those who have sent in packet 3 and waiting on response to be to schedule an interview, how long did it take? was there a backlog on appointment dates or generally easy to find close dates? We've already done medical in beginning of June so they should have our paperwork from that. Looking forward to finishing this up and filing for N-400 immediately after.
  15. I posted screenshots, but I just more or less begged them and told them I would send a withdrawal letter and send proof of sending it.
  16. I used a job relocation offer to the UK to get approval to file at the consulate in Frankfurt Germany.
  17. She gets unlimited/unrestricted entry and exit from Germany. I would probably try and travel by train to reduce chance of passport check/immigration. I will let you know what they say for sure
  18. I will email the consulate today and ask about the medical. I worry about being able to get into Austria for my wife to do a medical though.
  19. That is something I am interested in as well. Is tis intended travel date to US?
  20. I'm not too sure about the medical. I'm planning on doing it in Hamburg or Berlin most likely. I'm going to fill out the DS-260 when my wife is here on Saturday and work on the other documentation until then. Have you called the other medical offices? I saw one of them had slot for Wednesday (much too soon). The interview is scheduled online after you mail them your DS-260 an required documentation they request and they tell you they have processed them, yes. I'm guessing we don't need to take extra copies of marriage/divorce docs then? Congratulations on your approval too! That's pretty wild we both got it at the same time.
  21. Sent an e-mail to the consulate yesterday to see if there was anything missing and luckily enough this morning at 8:30 we got two emails saying we got approved. So now time to schedule medical, interview and do more docs. 6-7 days processing time...couldn't be more happier!
  22. I don't know if this provides any help or not https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScEvNF5RK-2bvqW7SicenUtdxrPxl-4XfdyfR6FWoC3uNRk4g/viewform
