  1. there is only a few reasons why you would be denied and they should have gave you a paper stating it while returning your documents to you. For your case to be in administrative process is not a denial per se but they need more information to process your visa. This does take up to 6mos or more depending on multiple things such as a case back up.

  2. Hello,

I had the same issue regarding phone records and etc. I sent them a monthly communications on every we used even if it was a little. Also I got statements from my husband's family to support us. Because of them questioning my absence, I wrote them a statement with evidence on the reasoning I could not come back until 2014. My husband and I got married in 2012 and I wasn't able to come back to Ghana until 2012 for a visit. So that detailed statement explained the reason why I wasn't able to come back sooner.

    I hope this helps.

  3. Dear friend,

I have never paid 2400 for a ticket to Ghana and I have been there twice. You must watch your traveling time so you can get the cheaper ticket. I went to Ghana this past February and I only spent 1000.00 roundtrip for my ticket. Also I found a great house to stay in for 25 US dollars a day. Also I agree with traveling more than once because it does play a role when establishing your relationship. The more information you have regarding your relationship and statements from family and friends from both sides helped us out a lot. Be Bless

  4. Hello VJers

I am hoping someone would give me better understanding about obtaining a Green card for my Foreign Spouse. My husband and I will be married for two years in February and it looks live his arrival to the U.S. will be after our two year anniversary. My question is will he get a two year conditional green card or the 10 year green card. Also what will be the fee? I would appreciate any clarity on this.

    Thank you

  5. Hello,

I think that is very interesting because I have my interview letter for my husband and it says nothing like that. I know that you have to have your medicals done before your interview and that they are valid for six months. If they is a second interview, it would be if your case goes to AP which is a review of your case. Pray that you never go to AP ever. There is only one interview.

  6. Honestly Tosh Love,

I skipped the K-1 process because I couldn't faced the denial myself nor my husband could. I will tell you to pray about the path because no one's path is the same. I know my husband and I choose to get married and go through CR-1 process. We knew we wanted to get married and it didn't matter where we didn't but to save money we did it in Ghana :). (Plus I wanted to meet his family and enjoy the country too). Just pray and go with your heart whatever your choice maybe, go with it. There is great successes in the K-1 process too.

  7. Hello r1ck,

Many countries in Africa are known for fraud and other countries too. Regarding the process of K-1, you will not need a immigration lawyer, I am married to a Ghanaian and they way I chose to process our documents was without an attorney. There is great information and people here that will help you make sure your documents are in order. Oh, don't worry about the so called stigma, it is about your happiness so other people will just have to adjust to it. :)

  8. Hi All,

I am in the process of planning my second wedding here in the US. My first wedding was in Ghana of course which I had the opportunity to spend time with my husband's side of the family. Now it my turn and I want to incorporate a Ghanaian engagement ceremony as my rehearsal dinner with family and my wedding part. Anyone have any ideas how I can pull this one off? There are some family members on my husband's side in the US, I hope they will come to our wedding. :) I got the foundation of the ceremony, just trying to put it together. :) Let me know what you think.

    Follow Up:

After watching 3 youtube video's I know what to do and I know it will work out. The most important part I will capture is the wisdom of our elders that will share about marriage and what they know and experiences. I will keep everyone posted on the event that takes place. This is my second wedding ceremony and I want to honor his family and their culture by adding this engagement ceremony to our dinner rehearsal. :)

  9. I have a number of tattoos but the most important ones are on my wrists back and front. My late mother, my current fiance, my daughter and my son (my fiance's son I adopted about a year ago). Will it be a stupid idea to include a picture of the tattoo of my fiance's name, in addition to other evidence for his interview? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Sis, there is no need to do all that and it wasn't a stupid question because I know you want to make sure that your relationship is true. Honestly, I that is not necessary.

  11. Jesus Christ that is forever!!! I wish I would've known I never would've sent it usps!!! Wat a freakin hold up. I'm so disappointEd:-(

He did certified mail though that's y we can track it.

Sis, calm down, everything takes time. Don't be disappointed, I understand you have a deadline for your husband to arrive but understand that it may not happen on your time. Just be patient, it will help. :)

  12. I wish FedEx was 80 ghc regulat mail was 102ghc no matter where he went and it was the cheapest. I was really hoping for a case close this month trying to get my baby home asap. Hoping by march!!!

How long b4 Ya'll were cleared?

I remember it taking two weeks for our documents to clear and the documents where sent to me. I check them over and sent them to NVC and I had it certified mail so I knew they got it. From there, the NVC waiting game began...:)

  13. Just be patient, I went through the same thing and it was just documents. I think the big hold up was the police certificate because it came in its own envelope. It won't be long and it was send regular mail because all the other postal places are expensive in Ghana. I remember Fedex was about 80 cedis to send the documents. No worries, look at this as a pit stop to a greater destination. :)

  14. Hello VJS:

To response to many things that are being questioned, I can only speak of experience with my husband. For one, all Ghanaian men are different, my husband is very affectionate more so than I am. lol. I love it!!! Praying together has been the center of our relationship before we got married. If your man is traditional in his ways then he request the submissiveness and etc. But if he is not, he will value you more than words can explain and he will love you and care for you like a husband should. I am USC married to a Ghanaian man and we have our first year Anniversary next month. In this marriage, I have never been so grounded. When I lived with him in Ghana, we balanced off of each other. My husband loves to cook and he is particular about the way our house looks. He is also hard worker. Doing the time I was with him, he did it all and I was treated like a Queen. Now, I didn't expect it nor did I ask him to do all these things. When he comes home he will be treated the same as I was treated and that had nothing to do with being submissive. As the old saying goes, treat him as you wanted to be treated. That is what I do. Be Blessed

  15. Hello vjs,

I thought this was interesting so I had to post it. I finally got through to NVC regarding my weekly case check up and they told me that my case hadn't left their place to setup an interview with Ghana Consulate. I asked the Lady why is not and she told me that NVC are the ones that setup the interviews at the Ghana Consulate. I thought they send the documents first and then Ghana Consulate makes the interview appointment. Has anyone else heard of this type of process now?

    Just asking :innocent:
