  1. OMG God is so Good woke up to text that his K1 has been approved. Can't stop crying coz I had given up on January. Oh by way I am August filer. 20 August to be precise........

You got me starting to cry. I looked at your timeline and thank you JESUS ! August is in the house...............here we come (vermont- yes sir !) thanks for posting ! I am so happy for you !

  2. Hi everybody!

I'm pregnant and due in 3 weeks. I had planned to speak only English to our baby and teach our child my native tongue later on when he gets older. The reason being that I'm so used to speaking English all the time and I don't really want to speak in my native tongue all the time. Also, my husband speaks only English so he would not understand when I talk to our child. Anyway, my Mom is giving me a hard time about this (she doesn't speak English). She thinks our child should speak to me in my native tongue and speak English to my husband and that I should start right away when the baby's born. I understand it's a good idea to teach your kids to be bilingual, but as a parent you would have to be very motivated doing that. And honestly I don't feel motivated speaking only my native tongue to our child. I was planning to teach my native tongue later on though (give lessons to our child). Anyway, I know that if I don't teach our child my native tongue right away, my Mom is going to be highly offended and hurt(which I don't want either). How would you deal with a situation like this? Any advice?

Soon to be hubby speaks at least 5 languages fluently . I speak English and some Spanish. We will teach the baby French (future hubbie's first language) and English at the same time. I will be learning French also ;) . I say do both languages at the same time unless the child can not "handle it."

  3. Hopefully the NVC stage and setting up the interview won't be too long but seeing that your country is Iran...../sigh. Good luck on your journey, I do pray that everything speeds up soon. The more time this takes the more numb I become with less " i want to pull my hair out" days :innocent:

wow- I started feeling the same way. Now this wait has unfortunately become part of my everyday life. I'm having more days that I wonder if this was all just a bad dream....surreal

  4. Congrats!! Here's what the VJ Guide says:

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

    1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

    2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

    3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

    4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

    5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

    6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

    7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

And here is information specific to Haiti:

    Good luck!! : )

nice list/ I am going to start working on my things! Already checked the government site to confirm what is needed.

  5. your one of the lucky filer. ours will be 6 months this 23. we call 3 time to the uscis for a service request but did not allow us cos they said we are still in regular procesing time. so i guess. we will just wait wait wait... until it will come. getting worried...

I wouldn't worry yet, based on your timeline it should be any day. I look at the timelines and see a pattern on Igor. They still have the last 2 week batch of July that need approval. August hasn't started yet. Can't wait til it does..............;)

  6. Brother:

    Here's another angle to consider.

If you're offered that job with the excellent compensation, take it. Throw yourself into it. Work extra hours.

Taking a good job and doing well in it will earn you money, raises, commendations, and appreciation. The money and raises will give you extra flexibility that you really could use. The commendations and appreciation will act as a salve to your understandably raw self-esteem. You'll also meet colleagues with whom you'll have the chance of developing friendships.

This will be good for you now and long-term, si man.

awesome suggestion! I have thrown myself into work and my children - makes the days go by a little quicker and gives you something to focus on right about now !

  7. AWESOME insight on his question! I was able to learn from that . Been there , done that (been cheated on )- had the emotional , spiritual, mental ( and affected financially) "break down." It took years to "get over it ," and it still hurts . It hurts even more so since I have a child from him and he is not involved ( reinforces that I made the right decision when I finally stepped away from the relationship!)

I am sorry, I do not know the legalities of the position/options that you have. I do know the pain that you feel though . Believe it or not , my story is worse- and I made it through. I went through that storm, many times- but I made it through. You can too! Dig deep into what is RIGHT! I had to eventually separate myself from the situation as much as possible. No contact (change my number / email ) and try not to look at the nonsense they posted on the computer. In my mind and heart things replayed over and over again.

My concern for you is that it seems as though you truly love her, but let me state this comment...........this is not her first "offense," and I doubt will be the last unless she has truly changed and knows what respect and commitment is. If she love or at LEAST respected you, this would not be happening .What if you are apart again for a period of time, is she justified to cheat because she "needed to get some?" It's called sacrificing for the better cause.

NO man is worthy of me cheating on the person I am with. It is not easy going through this process of the K1- the not knowing and having the government in control of so many things dealing with my relationship. There is no way I would sacrifice what this man means to me and my children by giving into a few moments of *(#$#).

God bless you and I hope for the best.

  8. Count me in - these waivers and things for illegals are only punishing legal filers. We should have our applications processed first.

That is so true and simply put. Being punished for doing things legally! Welcome to America .....I may start writing. I have never complained on this site, and really use it to stay informed and watch the processing times. It is hurtful to see others speed through the process in 1-4 months , and some even complain because they want it quicker. Seriously?

  9. I sent a personal response to JE06 , and now I am glad I sent it through her email account - in fear of the nasty attitudes from some I am observing. It is kind of funny that some of the attitude is from those that are getting approved in 90 days. Wow, go figure. This is an old forum message that I just read today , but I needed JE06's post.

    God bless you all.
