  1. Most people can do this process completely on their own just by using this information given on this site. Unless you have extremely complicated circumstances an attorney would be a waste of money. I have seen (through this site) many people use attorney's and still get RFE's for simple things you learn to do or not to do with the information given on this site. They cannot make your process move any faster (no matter what they tell you). Please explain why you feel you need an attorney and if you have ANY questions about the process just let us know! That's what we're here for! :)

  2. So after a long frustrating process, my fiance picked up his passport today in MoBay... It seems unreal that all we need to do now is book his flight and he will be here with us.. Extremely excited to start the next part of our journey! This site and the tremendously helpful people who are a part of this community have helped me keep my sanity in this INSANE process. Thank you.... we couldn't have done it without you l!!!

  3. Email for an appt date to drop off

Can't he make the appointment over the phone when they call him, or will they just tell him to email them?? I'm thinking we may as well wait for them to call... that seems like it may happen sooner than them getting to the email... my recent emails were taking 2 weeks for a response... Which email address would we use kingstonivappointment@state.gov or just the general KingstonIV?

  4. OK, just a warning that this is a vent... but also to let people know that when sending Affidavit of Support documents send your tax transcripts if at all possible... sending in my tax return with w2's caused me an ridiculously long delay.

My fiance should of been approved at the interview but the incompetent staff obviously did not know how to comprehend a tax return sent with w2's vs a tax transcript... even though that is a document they require... they were saying I didn't meet the income guidelines because of a $4000 deduction I took (I'm a full-time student and chose this instead of the education tax credit) on the tax return. they were reading my adjusted gross income (AGI), my TAXABLE income... not what I made... I went back and forth with them for a month and they consistently refused to look into the mistake and kept requesting a cosponsor. I finally received my tax transcript in the mail and was able to send it to them on Sept 24th.. we get the approval yesterday.. FOOLS!! Next week is my daughter's, who has just started kindergarten, Donuts for Dad event at her school.. She wanted to bring her father but due to the embassy's mistake she won't be able to. I contacted my Senator and the Office of the Inspector General in regards to this issue, but with the shutdown I'm not sure anything had been done. Hopefully the rest of the process goes smoothly... we've had our share of "mistakes" in this entire process... just want him here already!!

  5. Why is he mailing his passport? That would be something that I would make an appointment to take it there.

He missed their calls so he didn't get to speak to them... all they left in the message was you need to answer so the case can proceed and left no number (called private)... The woman at the interview said he would need to mail his passport when they received a cosponsor... didn't know dropping it off was an option... looks like we have to wait until Tues since the Embassy is closed Mon for Columbus Day.

    Thanks!!

  6. Hello!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this quickly! After an unnecessary delay due to the embassy's error of not being able to comprehend a tax return and sating I do not meet the guidelines and it took over a month of going back and forth before they realized their mistake when they received my transcript, they called my fiance twice yesterday and he missed both calls. He is trying to mail it out today through DHL but we just want to confirm the address.. is it the same one listed on the 221G where petitioners are to send documents??

    Thanks a bunch!

  7. I sent the US embassy the DS 230 on August 5 and requested an interview date. nothing has happened as yet.. I sent another email as was told to contact them in a week and they SHOULD have some information for me.. then was told to resend DS230 to this email kingstonivinfo@state.gov .. sent the email and it came back as undelivered, email address does not exists .. i dont know what to do.. i'm confused..

Have you tried contacting DOS?? That's how we got out interview date. We still have not received an interview letter or packet 3 in the mail and our interview date is Sept 3rd. DOS # is 202-663-1225 (press 1 and 0 to get to operator). If one was scheduled, they can tell you the date and time. You will, however, have to email the embassy for the actual interview letter... you need to bring this to your medical.

    Hope this helps.. good luck!

  9. Well my case was touched today but im confused on why I got this update;

On June 26, 2013, your name was updated relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

I dont know why my name would change or my Fiance' so im confused!

I got an update too today for address change... I read on here a while ago that you get these when the case has been touched even though there is no actual change... This means MOVEMENT!! Come on Approval!!!! Good luck to you!!

  10. Got notice of transfer. However it says my receipt date is 12/27! Before it was 01/02/2013. Anybody else's change?

I didn't notice it until you brought it up, but mine changed as well.... my original was 1/4, but this one says 1/7... lol.. looks like good ol USCIS pulling ish outta thier rears again!!

  11. So here is a question... I checked TSC processing times and they do not have I129F listed (obviously because they do not usually process these forms)... but how will we know when we are within "processing time" if we don't know what they are?? I've seen people get responses from USCIS saying that service requests cannot be completed because they r within processing time... so do we just go with what VSC has?? or can we just start harrassing the heck out of em!
