I can't seem to figured out how to put this on the embassy review section on my timeline. As the link doesn't work for me. I apologize in advanced.

Our interview day was on October 1, 2013 on Tuesday at 7:30 AM

We arrived at the embassy around 6:30 AM and there were at least 5-10 people ahead of us. One line for Immigrant Visa and Non Immigrant Visa. Now one line for everything. Seems to me like there were more fiance(e) visa applicants than spousal visa applicants. Monks were lead in by the security guard first as according to customs and religions. I'm gonna stress this and again later on. It is crucial and of high important and beneficial to have your petitioner attend the interview along with the beneficiary as other VJ members here will contest to that. For the Phnom Penh embassy petitioner are allow to enter into the building to attend the interview together. We were told by the security guards not to bring a big bag inside the embassy. No electronics whatsoever. Then they will give you a visitor badge to enter through another check gate before entering the interview section of the embassy. Do not bring binder as that will only cause problem in sliding documents under the tiny window slot. The slots are kind of like a slots where you would see at a bank. Instead what we did was put one original document and one translation document paperclip those documents together. For example marriage certificate and english translation behind it. Birth certificate and english translation behind it. Put all your civil documents together in one folder and be ready to hand it to the officer when ask for it. In another folder put all your evidences of relationship such as airline tickets, copy of passport, dinner receipts hotel receipts, skype logs and chats, emails. We put pictures of significant meaning and dates into a story book or put them on a piece of paper and labeled them with dates, names and locations to clarified when the pics were taken. Western Unions receipts was actually not ask but can be put together in the evidence packet for the immigration officer to look at. Things needed first was the interview appt. letter. You will also need to give them 2 pics of passport photos. Do not put those inside the passport as they can easily be lost or misplaced by the people asking for it. Instead give them one at a time.

Once inside the embassy they will ask you to go to window 1 to pick up a number. We were like 5 in line, but was not call to the window until an hour later. Perhaps due to us being a spousal visa applicants. We notice that tourist visa was ask before us even the fiancee visa applicant was called up to the window before us. So it was not first come first serve in order of lines. Another lady who's husband was not at the interview was holding her 8 month old daughter was also at the interview that day. She was before us. Questions ask of her was very much detailed of dates visiting and was probably ask about 20 questions that lasted about 20 minutes. I don't know if that was because her husband was not at the interview or if she was being ask by a strict IO. Obviously she was not denied a visa, but was missing a signature from a co-sponsor and was ask to come back and bring those original docs again at a later date. I would suggest you have all your paperwork completely fill out. Make sure no documents or forms are missing during your interview day. Also please remember dates of number of times visiting each other.

We were call up to be interview about 40 minutes later. We were only ask 3 questions of why our petitions was originally denied. We were denied because of marriage documents that was not validated by the correct ministry of actual authority. Questions asked was when was our actual marriage cermony and when was the actual day of marriage registry? As that was pertaining to our case. I think having the petitioner there is of great value. Questions ask during interview day from other applicants was the usual how did you guys meet? When, Who What questions. Original docs giving to the NVC was given back to us during the interview. Interview is being conducted in a way that your feel you are at a bank. Behind a glass window that sometimes hard to hear. Privacy is not of important during interview. As everyone can listen on you during your interview. There were only 1 interpreter there during my interview day. As the American Immigration Officer speaks Khmer and English. He spoke Khmer to my wife and English to me the petitioner. Visa are given the following Friday. I have not noticed or heard anyone getting visa the same day or next day. Important docs to have all passport, passport pics (2), National ID Card, Medical Exam, Police Record, Civil Docs pertaining to your case. Dwheels I am so excited after waiting for 5 months we are finally scheduled for an interview date for October 1, 2013. We did it and we survived yay thank you God. I received an email today. I am ready to do the happy dance and I'm so happy at this moment. I believe I can fly. I thought this day will never come as I've waited months after months. Of course every members in here know how that goes. The waiting is a pain, but at the end reuniting with your family is worth every bit of it you better believe it. Everyone seems to be graduating and I'm like the senior that is still waiting for that diploma until today. Thanks for encouraging me and most of all putting up with my complaints and believe me you don't know how truly I am for this moment and thank you for your time. Your commitment and encouragement is worth more than words can express. I hope that you will enjoy happiness and hope nothing but the best for you. Thank you to you and to everyone here on VJ. You guys know who you are I don't need to mention name as I felt that is uneccessary. To those who are waiting I know it's tough, but keep on praying because it will happen. Like you said if they go by priority date and date completed at NVC then between March 27th and now there should be an interview schedule happening and not have us waited all that time. If they are truly at maximum capacity then they shouldn't be scheduling other that are after us. This is making me mad.

Embassy blame NVC. I got an email reply from them that says they are waiting for NVC to send them actual case file with Interview

Hey Dwheel checking in for another month. I just hope this 5th month is my last one. I so desperately want a September interview. Nothing to do but wait.

dwheels finally got my interview schedule September 9,2013. interview will be in Singapore I called DOS waiting 5 minutes. I think there not much call for today.

I'm glad you got your interview date. We were in the same process and timeline over at NVC thread. I remember you had a tough time during the NVC processs, but now I have a tough time getting an interview date. Good luck at your interview.

Oh I am so sorry Dear. What does NVC say about this long delay. Did they shut down the dang embassy and not tell anyone can't they transfer to the nearest ummm I don't know just talkin.

Thank you much. I call NVC last friday did not get an interview date. I'm gonna call them tomorrow. I'm not surprise if the answer is still no. As a matter of fact 5 people from my country portal have their interviews in September although they are K-1 visa applicants and not spousal visa. So the embassy is up and running. It's just that for us, spousal visa we just have to wait they didn't really say why. I'm hoping the 3 of us here from VJ gets a September interview dates. As you can see Cambodia is at the top of the list. I'm hoping we don't have to wait any longer. 5 months of waiting for an interview is not fun. Just trying to keep myself busy sort of get your mind from thinking too much of it you know.

One good thing about having your interviews in September is airline tickets drop tremendously after the summer. You guys save a lot of money on tickets. More money to spend on each other. That's always a good thing.

Dwheels I have a question so me and my husband make 2 years married this upcoming September 7th and our interview is on September 16th we have passed the 2 year mark do we still have to do his AOS or no ?

If you are marry for 2 years or more at your point of entry meaning the date your husband enter the US he should receive a 10 year green card. So no need to AOS, good luck on your interview.

I have a question about plane ticket. I might be ahead of myself and I know that the embassy does state that you should not make travel arrangement ahead of the interview but I like to be prepare

So how do you go about buying the ticket for the beneficiary? Do you know which airline is flexible when it comes to date change?

That is a good question as I haven't even been schedule an interview date and was thinking about that also. I haven't had any personal experience with changing flight date. I've always chosen EVA airline every year for the last 6 years. I've never had to change my flight date. According to EVA website they charge 100 dollars to change the flight date. I am planning on attending my wife's interview at the embassy and coming back with her 2 weeks after her interview date. I will be purchasing a roundtrip ticket for myself and a one-way for my wife about 2 weeks after her interview date. I am willing to assume the risk. I am getting ahead of myself, but you got to look ahead. Most people here on VJ in the cambodia portal show no later than 1 weeks in getting their visa and their passport back. I believe in the website they say it takes about 3- 7 business days. I am very positive that my wife will get her visa approval because we have a son together which I just came back from filing a CRBA report and US passport for him. I've visited my wife every year for the last 6 years. We've been married for almost 3 years now. Lots of evidence including phone logs, pictures, stamps of date visited, western union receipts, etc. I see that you just got your NOA 2 in just a month. That is really fast congratulations. You're planning on being there for your fiance interview? Let me know what else you thinking of doing? Good luck on your journey.

That's great news that some of you have your interview dates. I'm happy for you guys. Go out and celebrate, enjoy the nice weather and treat yourself to a delicious meal. That's a reason to celebrate and don't forget to do the happy dance. 77 Let's all think positive and it is what it is. It's how you manage your emotions that matter. Don't let it get to you. I will take you up on those advices. I haven't done any of those options yet. I will keep updating my status in this thread. One person from VJ filed their petition around the same time as I did and still haven't even been approved in the USCIS stage. My heart goes out to that person. She waited for a long time and no adjudicator even look at her filed yet. That's unacceptable and unfair. Changes need to be made. Even those who had it easy, believe it's not fair the way the immigration process work over here.

Sorry to hear that. Have you involved your local congressmen to inquire why this is taking so long? Because that is awfully long to be waiting for interview date. I would also contact DOS or write to them regarding this issue.
