  1. US citizen sponsor brings and marries and immigrant here with the required I-864, but that immigrant has different ideas rather than staying with the sponsor and even gets a divorce. Even with the divorce, US sponsor is responsible for supporting that person above the poverty level plus paying any bills that immigrant runs up with public aid.

Tons of this is one on the web, here is just one of them:

    http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/free-books/fiance-marriage-visa-book/chapter3-5.html

My dad is the co-sponsor. Which form(s) does he fill out? Does he fill out the I-864 or the I-134. Do I fill out any form?

  2. At:

    http://www.uscis.gov/forms

Besides the I-864 is an A, AZ, P, W suffix, I just downloaded all the forms and read the instructions., but back then only the I-894A was extra. My attorney suggested my wife feel out this form as well, so we would be entering our marriage equally. Didn't need a co-sponsor, so didn't read that section. But many on this board needed a co-sponsor, so I do know its possible.

Also many sponsors on this board been hung by this I-864.

What do you mean by "many sponsors hung by I-864"? I don't know what to do. I guess I'll ask my dad to fill out I-864 and I-134 affidavits. And I will also fill them out... I don't want to show up the interveiw with the wrong forms or the wrong person filled them out.

  3. I second this, sounds like OP is only interested in living in the US no matter what it takes. That's not what the K-1 is meant to be for. It's to be with someone you love who happens to live in the US.

I agree. But I am not suprised. People are selfish. But I also have to feel somewhat sorry for this individual. Anyone who is driven THAT MUCH to stay inside the U.S. must have it really bad where they've come from. Or perhaps its just a case of someone tasting how it is to live in the U.S. (in normal conditions) and doesn't want to leave because its (usually) easier living in the U.S. than another Country. That's just my opinion though, after living in other Countries, but always feeling blessed and at home to live in the U.S. However, my feelings of empathy demolish whenever I think about those who are in the K1 process for all the right reasons, and yet, they still end up being separated.

  4. My fiance and I were recently approved for the K1 visa, but we need a sponsor before we go to the interview. My dad is going to be the sponsor. Does he fill out the I-864 or does he fill out the I-134? Do I fill out the I-134? I'm unemployed because I'm living with my fiance in Russia right now. I have a job waiting for me when I get back to the U.S.

  5. So the K1 visa process is a generally long one, so my fiance and I decided we would wait together. After almost a year since our last meeting, we met in Moscow and then proceeded to his home town the following day. I'm so happy to be with him during this process! Thank you for the awesome visa, Russia!

  6. Alien Registration Number (“A” Number) or Alien Number

A unique seven-, eight- or nine-digit number assigned to a noncitizen at the time his or her A-file is created. The 9-digit U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services number listed on the front of Permanent Resident Cards (Form I-551) issued after May 10, 2010, is the same as the Alien Registration Number. The A-number can also be found on the back of these Permanent Resident

I read that and am confused. I don't know what an A number is, dont know how to get one and dont know what an A-file is. So none of this is helpful.

  7. Hi, my name is Alison but I'm usually called Ali. I met my fiancee 15 months ago online. We connected immediately and began conversing on skype everyday. That lasted 11 months when we were finally able to meet in Cancun, Mexico. We stayed seven days. It was so hard to leave each other because we have fallen so deeply in love. When we each got back to our countries safely, we began sorting out what we needed to do to. Website after unhelpful website, useless calls made to consuls, and so much stress I finally find this website through a friend who has gone through same (still is, bc when does it ever end?!) and it has been such a life saver. I have printed the K-1 petition doc, the G-1145, a bunch of docs of proof we were together, pictures. Is there anything else I need to include in this package besides the $340 fee?

Do I need to also include these:

    Cover letter for I-129f

    Fiancee letter of intent

    Extended approval

    ???

I still somewhat confused and I want to be EXTRA sure that I get everything in the package. Please help!!

  8. Wow I am finding more and more docs I am going to have to include in the package. I'm having nightmares about thinking I have everything together and then getting the package returned because of something I overlooked or didn't know anything about at the time. This is such a helpful website. I've been searching for so long, what to do, what to do--now I have found a "resting place" so to speak where all my questions can be answered and I can get the correct information. Thank you Thank you SO MUCH!!
