  1. The property you own in Brazil won't have any benefit, positive or negative with your k-1 visa.

If you're worried about tickets with the car, sell it to your father, or transfer it to his name.

As far as apt's and houses, there's no reason you should have to sell them. You don't have to prove you're not going to come back. You also won't lose what you own, they're yours!

  2. The only *proof" that you need to send with the I-129F is that you met within the last 2 years. Phone bills, cards, emails and chats do not prove this. Boarding passes, ticket stubs, and stamps on a passport is the proof that you need to send, and only copies are needed.

All that other stuff will be needed at the interview to provide proof of ongoing relationship.

  3. Be leery of advice of this grave nature being given out on the internet. The safest thing for you to do is consult with a qualified tax professional.

It's my understanding that you have to report all worldwide income, regardless of the source. You will most likely qualify for a tax exemption because it was your personal property of more then 2 years, which is exempt from capitol gains according to US tax law. But this is mixing up 2 different countries tax rules and the best thing for you to do would be to discuss it with your accountant. Getting burned on it later for not reporting it correctly could be quite costly.

  4. Doesn't surprise me in the least. Just like others have said, having a relationship on the internet, then actually having to live together are two different things.

If those stats are correct, it could also prove just how many of these are immigration fraud, and why those of us who are legit have to jump through hoops.

I just dont get the "see a pretty picture on the internet and pick out a life partner" mentality.
