Amirah loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse too, if you go online they have some activities. theres one where you can make your own little mickey animal 'parade' with music and stuff - now whenever I sit at the computer she comes over and starts cawling up the desk saying she wants to make her parade...

nothing much here - I have a literal mountain of laundry to get to which I may or may not actually work on, and probably cook something good for dinner but other than that I think I will spend my time reading...

Does anyone else really REALLY hate Yo Gabba Gabba? I can't deal with that show. That DJ Lance with the orange hat gives me nightmares

at first I hated it and still find myself watching with my mouth hanging open at the sheer insanity of it, but I have beceom a big fan of all the guest stars. Jack Black's episode was awesome, and this season they have Anthony Bourdain.. how can you hate that?

I'm too lazy to actually research it out, but it seems to me that in my years on VJ I have seen people approved for the K1 even when there has been a religious ceremony already - not just in MENA but I am thinking maybe in India this happens also? I believe in the eyes of the USCIS they are concerned more with a legally recognized/documented marriage than with a religious ceremony....

my son won Student of the Month today for his middle school (second time this year!) but I didnt get to go to the little award ceremony because the little one is sick and ORNERY and I just didnt have it in me for loud tantrum in the school gym this morning....

oh well - I am still super proud of him!

Staying home with a sick toddler today - maybe I'll try to get some housework done. or not

I was just about to post that I did absolutely nothing today until I remembered that we had a family backyard cleanup for an hour this afternoon. Yard looks much better even though Amirah was petrified of the lawn mower and my poor son unearthed a rotting rodent that one of the cats must have brought as a gift some time ago and left in the undergrowth - eeeewwwww..........

Moms: Marshalls has organic Vitamin gummy bears on sale. I bought some today and they also have fiber gummy bears (hoping that they will help a little with Ben's constipation). They have some other organic stuff for those of you who don't have access to organic stuff. And did I mention german coffee for $5?

Sayed is still sleeping in a pack and play next to my bed. We don't have any plans for a nursery or room and I think he will probably remain next to me or in bed with me until he's a year old. Jihed says yeh right he'll be 10 before we ever get him out of our bed

and I'm not even gonna say how long Amirah slept in our room - either in the pack n play or sometimes with us. well beyond the first birthday but hey, it works for our family ....

doing laundry today - does it make me a bad mother that I take my 2 year old to daycare sometimes even if I am not at work aaahhhh - the peace, the quiet! the putting away of toys and have it stay that way for a few hours!!

I think I'll make a meatball tagine later with some fresh tomatoes....

I hope its a good day for all of you.

oh, and Beth - I think 2 feet of closet space is VERY generous - its more than my poor husband had for a long time. however his revenge has been to use the armchair in the bedroom as his defacto closet so I guess we are even.

I agree with Jenn, there are circumstances under which it would be less than ideal to live there but I wouldnt end my marriage over it. We' ve talked a lot about buying a vacation/retirement home there in the future so who knows....

I'd probably be alright if I could take my Kitchen Aid. and a case of brownie mixes.

I HATE it when people post cryptic messages on their FaceBook pages! OMG...Just either come to the point and say what is going on, or don't say anything at all! Got one recently that said, "I can't believe what happened today."

OMFG..then you gotta go through all the back and forth messages to perhaps get even an inkling of what happend. JUST STOP IT! Lol.

this is so true. I cant stand it either.

I hate it when the person driving next to you matches your speed. You speed up to pass them and they do too, so you slow down to get behind and they do too. I dont really think its on purpose - in fact I think most people dont even notice they are doing it but it makes me crazy.

I also hate it when the grocery store or target or whatever is pretty crowded and people just stop their cart in the middle of the aisle to stare at some product like a deer in the headlights while like 10 people are backed up waiting to get by.

Only 9 days until he leaves! I've got to make up my list of things for him to get me and finish up on the present shopping. I got my SIL a nice black leather purse and a gorgeous shiney pinkish scarf from Len Druskin. AbuS insisted on a cinderella handheld video game for my niece, but I got her a cool hot pink purse (she's 9). Microwave from egypt for the MIL. Hmm, what else?

candy, OTC meds, and good smelling toiletries like from Bath and Body works.....
