Miss Saylin..Just received our case number on february 11.please count me in. (^_-)
-
I just wanted to check to see if I'm the only one in this position:
I received my NOA2 notification by email on January 31st. They mailed me the hard-copy on February 3rd. My status on the USCIS site has not changed. NVC does not have my petition yet.
Honestly, how long does it take TSC to ship the stuff to NVC? I'm assuming if it left TSC, I'd have a different status date! I'm not expecting them to bundle up all the approved petitions every day and ship them, but I would have thought they send them weekly, at the very least!
Am I out of line in thinking Elvis should have left the building by now?
Sukie
Ours are from tsc too..and it took 3weeks before they give us notification that our approved petition was forwarded to nvc..check my signature below..its true.tsc took so long cimpared to others..hold on a little bit.it might be there soon.

Congrats!!i called just now..she said its not available yet..maybe tomorrow..

I see the one which nvc received late than ours who have case numbers already are expedite request..I have seen cases after me,but have their case numbers already. I think its not a first come, first serve basis after all.

I have my noa2 last dec.3,received by nvc last jan.8, I still dont have my case no.
Thats sad to hear and to think nvc received your file first than ours..so its possible they dont have case numbers for filers like us with these dates. :-(

I am praying and really hoping for a case number by tomorrow, which will the 20th business day. It seems like the NVC has taken all 20 business days. Anyone in our same shoes? NOA2 12/23, NVC received case on 1/13/2014... WE are desperate now seriously desperate..
Same here.. :-(

Good morning everyone! My husband called NVC yesterday, no case number yet. 20 days waiting would be on the 10th of this month, so i wish we'll get it by then.
Same here..no case number yet..

Hi vjers..i need your help. Im really confused..if we file our tax as joint..is it really necessary that i have an income in my country?what if my income is too low? Where can i get ittn? My husband asked for a power of attorney cause i am not there yet to sign..so does it mean he chose the married filing jointly? Does married filing separately still needs power of attorney? By the way im not in usa yet and still waiting for nvc case number.whats the best option to take?

Who has the arrival date to NVC similar to mine? Our I-130 arrival date to the NVC building was on Jan 13... Still waiting on a case number. This waiting is sickening.
How long had it been taking for people to get case numbers? Also how long after case complete has the LONDON embassy been scheduling interviews?

Our file was received also on nvc on the 13th..still waiting for case number..i assume this week or maybe next week based on average timelines on members here...

Got confused, once case number and IIN are available, is the site both accessible by the husband or wife? or is it only the husband who is allowed to fill it in..thanks..

We just received notification that TCS has sent our file to the NVC. About how long will it take the NVC to receive it. Our petition was approved last week monday. This is the notice we got today.
Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN
Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On January 21, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.
For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
Our case was transferred to tsc also and it took around 30 days from noa2 to shipping notification from uscis. And around a week after that, our case was received from nvc..

It is done online..its for the beneficiaries part to answer who will be assigned as an agent..but it can be answered on both partners..

It's better to include all the possible proof that show your marriage is bonafide to prevent any delays.. There are list of proofs mentioned in one of the link here. Im sure u have come across with that.

As i can see on timelines here..thise from csc and nsc have the shkrtest waiting time for their case number.. Sigh...

Hey Texas seems to take the longest time when it comes to mailing the petitions out. I was approved on Dec. 4th and they mailed it on Dec. 31st. Hoping it will be faster for you.
Hi!.did u already have a case number at this time?

My husband and I got approved on Dec 31 at TSC and we still have not been transferred to NVC yet. We called once and they said it has been taking four to six weeks, but that I should call them every week just to check.
Our petition was approved by TSC on Dec. 12 and just this january 6 we received a notification that it was shipped to NVC. Until now we have no case number yet. We will call this monday to inquire.

First off, I didn't write that guide I just linked to it in the first post.
Yes, the PCC is required (in most cases) in the IV package. The passport clearance is something specific to India, hence why it's not mentioned in the guides as it's country-specific. If all the guides listed all country-specific requirements, it'd take you forever to read!
For the Philippines, you can do advance medicals (which instead of requiring the interview letter, only requires the first piece of correspondence from NVC which contains your case number).
Because of some people getting tested positive for TB in the Philippines specifically, you may want to consider getting the medical done soon, as if you're tested positive, you have to go on treatment for 6 months. I've seen countless people have to push back their interview date because of this since they waited until a few weeks before the interview date to get the medical done. It's obviously up to you, but just keep this in mind.
The case isn't sent out to the consulate/embassy until AFTER the interview date has been assigned.
And for IR-1/CR-1 visas, priority dates are meaningless as there's an unlimited number of visas each year for that visa category.
What he did was wrong. If he filed single when he was actually married, he lied to the IRS. Plain and simple. You can wait if you want to amend it once you get to the US and have a SSN, but first you need to pass the interview. And this can be a huge red flag since he basically isn't acknowledging he's married.
To amend it, you don't need to have a SSN. You can file MFS which just requires the USC to write 'NRA' (non-resident alien) in the SSN field of the foreign spouse. Or you can file MFJ which gets an ITIN assigned to you in lieu of a SSN, but the foreign spouse needs to send certain documents and this takes much longer as the tax return form and documents have to go to a separate IRS department to assign the ITIN, then it gets sent to the regular department where they process tax returns.
So since we havent received our case number yet, the 2013 tax could be the most recent one to be included instead for 2012 and earlier? Do u have an idea if theres a docu needed for MFS? regarding the interview, am i the only one interviewed or would be my husband included?
-
Can anyone give me a brighter insight? I have conflicting answers regarding this.. In my case where my husband is in the USa and im in the Philippines, is it really needed to change my husbands tax status from single to married? Or is it okay if he would change that once i arrived in USA? Does it need to have an SSN for that? if it really needs to be changed, what are the things needed and kind of tax would he file? (filing separately??) Just so confused. Someone told me that its okay if his tax status is still single because thats understandable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks and happy new year!!

Hi Saylin..I read that its advisable to call NVC for the case number and Invoice number..If we ever have that, can we start doing the next steps (like payment etc..) or do we need to wait for the hardcopy from NVC?
