  1. I have tried reading around this website which I found very helpful on K1 visaissues but am getting a little lost when it comes to trying to understand AOS and AP. So...

    1. What length of time on average does it take for the AOS to come through after sending off an application after marriage?

    2. With AP - do you have to apply for a specific trip or does this allow multiple trips?

I want to be living with my hubby in the USA but as I work in international health and am finishing off a PhD I will have to travel.....

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

  3. I just looked at mine and it doesnt state the years - just that there are no records about me on their computers

When I filled in the form I gave what it asked for - which was the addresses lived at in the last 10 years..I'm also over 26 and its not a problem - but Ive never been in trouble with police at any time ever - not even verbal warnings or anything so I was confident about the result.

If in doubt speak to the officer at your local station - but they dont seem to NEED every address since you were 16 so I cant see the wisdom of adding those.

Thanks. Not been in trouble either - was just wondering if I had to request anyting different to the standard police check....

  4. So when the K1 states you need a police check form all places resident since the age of 16 and the UK police check forms askes for addresses in the last 10 years is this a problem? I am more than 26 so last 10 years does not take me back to 16! I do not know what the UK prrof of police check looks like - does it state dates for which it checked it's database? Do I have to request an additional check for other addresses?

    Thanks

  5. Me again. Trying to tie up several loose ends. What do you do if you change addresses after submitting the I-129 form?

I am currently in the DR doing research for my PhD but think I should give my parents address in Scotland on the I-129 form. I will be back in the Uk by April (at another address) so can do the interview and everything else in the UK just fine. Want to get the process started now though as it takes WAY too long!

  6. K-1's are required to get a police certificate if they have resided in a country 6 months or more.

I have not been in the DR for as long as 6 months at any one time though it adds up to more than this over two years....???? I am definately not a resident in the DR though I have rented a house here. In the mean time I use my parents address in Scotland as a base.. I should probably get one just in case...... sounds easy from the website you gave me on my question re Vanuatu police checks.

    Thanks again

  7. Has any one ever had to get a police check from the Rep of Vanuatu? Do you know how to get it?

OR if I have a letter from the volunteer organisation (VSO) that sent me there stating that to the best of their knowledge I have no criminal record is this good enough?

    Thanks

Thank you. I had the address before but not the phone number. This is very helpful. Maybe they can tell me how much the fee is etc...
