  1. GYnot, I had the same experience. My file after NOA2 was approved it was lost between Atlanta and NVC. All the phone calls and emails to "nvsresearch@state.gov" did not get me anywhere. Each call and each email made me wait 2 weeks for a response and they gave me answer talk to NVC or talk to Atlanta USCIS office from each other. i lost 4 months on this.

Finally someone asked me to contact my senator's office. I did and they have a liaison personnel with immigration authority at each Senators office. They asked me to send the entire packet and a authorization waiver form. Did that over fax and dropped the packet at the senators office. They forwarded it to NVC in 2 days and communicated via telephone to me that it is in NVC and it will be forwarded to consulate. Was in consulate in 3 weeks. Very easy and very helpful. Everything was completed in 5 days after my initial call to Senator's office. They have experience doing all these kind of work. You do that immediately, contact your local Senator don't waste time because if the packet is lost they will never trace it.

  2. Ramesh, this happened to me also. NVC said they have not received my approved i-130 from Atlanta USCIS office and Atlanta USCIS said they have already sent it 2 days after approval. I wasted 4 months emailing and calling. They will ask me to wait for 3 or 4 weeks. But nothing happened. Finally i contacted my senator's office and they asked me to give all my original i-130 papers copies of all papers i send then to begin with and the approval letter. They forwarded it to NVC and NVC received them in 4 days. So do that. Contact your senator’s office they have a liaison to work from NVC and USCIS.

  3. My I-130 was approved on Oct 1st, but NVC still has not received my petition. I called them every week and they asked me to wait for 8 weeks. So after 8 weeks I emailed NVC research and I got a email reply back on Dec 9th saying they will contact USCIS on my behalf to track my petition. It has been 3 weeks since then. I have been calling them every week and they just say they will contact me and rest assured they will track my petition down. I have made a info pass appointment with Atlanta office for next week to see if they did send my approval and petition to NVC and to the right address.

Maree i see from your timeline, yours too was approved on Oct 1st like me and NVC received it after 9 weeks on Dec 5th, did you have to do anything different and do you know why it took so long for NVC to receive it.

If anyone else has any advice for me or any opinions on my case, please let me know. Thank you very much. I am very tired and disappointed with the whole process with USCIS. Thank again everyone.

  4. Hello QueenieJ601, Happy anniversary. We have waited this long, hopefully few more months and our spouses can join us. I am still waiting for NVC to receive it. I called them this morning. Yours took almost a month, so i am hoping mine also will be there later this week or next. It was our anniversary too last month. Yes they sometimes enter your file into their system faster so may be as soon as this week. Good luck to everyone in the same boat.

  5. Finally after 10 months. I-130 was approved. I got a call from Atlanta office on Saturday 09/21 last Saturday they told my marriage certificate is missing. I told they should have a notarized translated copy of the certificate, she looked and said no it is not there. She asked me to fax it as soon as possible. I told I will bring it to Atlanta office. She spoke to me for about 14 minutes asking me questions about my wife, how we communicate and how many times I visited her etc I told her I have been there 5 times in last 2 years and our culture. I dropped off the marriage certificate on Monday 09/23 at USCIS office and I again spoke to the officer for 15 minutes. She was more curious about China and their culture etc, she told she just wants to know because she will see more cases like me ( I am originally from India and my wife is from China). She was very friendly. I asked her before I left does it mean I am approved and my application will be sent to NVC. She told yes. Today after 1 week and 1 days my case status changed to post decision.

I saw a post from "QueenieJ601" in this thread that she too ( her husband ) got a call on the same Saturday. Looks like Atlanta office is working on I-130 on weekends to catch up with the backlogs. My guess is they are not working on I-130 on weekdays but only on weekends hence both mine and "QueenieJ601" I-130 came on a Tuesday after they update the system on weekend and it takes them 1 or 2 days to update the web site and mail the letters.

So I think all others waiting on I-130 from Atlanta it will be little faster going forward.
