I was place in administrative processing in April.
My interview was on April 2nd. They asked for additional paperwork (2013 taxes). I was told it would take 6 - 8 weeks to process once the documents were received.
This is how it played out for me:
Documents sent - April 8
Documents rec. - April 17
Status updated to ready - April 22
Status updated to issued - April 29
Passport received - May 2
Entry - May 3
I read about people being in administrative processing for months and was very nervous that this would be the case for me. There are some on here that say contacting your congressman doesn't help. And that may be true but my husband contacted his congressman anyway. And a week after the congressman contacted the Montreal embassy my visa was ready. I can't say for sure that helped; every case is different and every congressman handles their cases differently but I had my visa in hand 3 1/2 weeks after I sent my documents...
Good luck! Hope you have it by know. I know for me it was a stressful time waiting, not knowing how long it would take.

I had my interview on Wednesday and did not get my visa. I was told that I need to submit my husband's 2013 tax return.
My husband is self employed and his personal taxes show that he does not make enough to support me. I sent ito NVC his a copy of both his personal and corporation taxes, a letter from his lawyer outlining his income for 2013 and copies of his job contracts from last year and this year. NVC approved us based on this and did not tell me I needed to take any additional information.
I brought the original letter from his lawyer and contracts and bank statements with me to the interview and the interviewer would not even look at them. He said I could have made them up myself and he had never heard of the bank name on the statements (my husband belongs to a credit union). I'm actually very insulted that he would imply that I was lying and that if he really felt that was true he should prove it.
He said my husband's taxes should have been done already since the deadline is April 15th. And if need be I should get a co-sponsor.
He told me once I send this in my visa will be issued and it will take 6 - 8 weeks! And then had the nerve to tell me to have a nice day!
I'm guessing there's nothing I can do to expedite this?

I called my congressman after 4 months and within 2 weeks my file was sent to NVC. It had been sent to California instead of NVC....

My case was completed on Feb. 21. Can you me to the list?
Thanks!

Congrats!
I need some dates since you don't have a signature: when the case number was assigned, when you sent the IV package, when you completed the DS-260, and if you got a checklist.
Added!
Case number assigned July 13, 2013
IV sent August 31, 2013
DS-260 completed September 15, 2013
AOS sent December 4, 2013
Checklists received December 31 & January 27
Thanks!

Hey! I sent a checklist response on Jan 28 and it took until February 12th for them to confirm recieving it. Since then there have been more closures due to weather, so just hold tight. I was panicking that they hadnt successfully recieved it but it all worked out fine.
Talk about a frustrating process! lol

I got my email from NVC confirming my they received my AOS. Sent it on Dec. 4th. Waiting for case complete next....

I filed for my IR-1 visa in January. I came to the U.S. in February for 6 weeks then went back to Canada. I was laid off from my job and my husband and I decided that it would be better for the 2 of us if I came to the U.S. so we could be together and wait for my visa to be processed rather than waiting in Canada. So in July I came to the U.S. and have been here ever since.
Due to some delays with paperwork my visa is still not approved and I have reached my 6 month limit for being in the U.S. I'm not sure what I should do. If I was to stay in the U.S. until my interview appointment is scheduled in Montreal will it affect me getting my visa? Should I be applying for a provisional waiver?

Thanks! I called and spoke to Sylvia. She was very helpful as well. She found the email I sent earlier today and sent it through to get processed right away.

I tried talking to a supervisor but one wasn't available. I don't have any faith on one calling me back, the person I talked to wasn't very helpful :-(

I did call, they told me to send an email. I'll try again and see if I can speak to a supervisor.

I sent an email asking them to correct it. Any idea how long it will take?

I just received my case number from NVC and it has my case being processed at the London embassy. I was born in London but I am a Canadian citizen and live in Canada (which was all included on my application). What is the best way for me to handle this? And will it delay my application? Should I send my optin email or wait to get my correct case number? I waited 4 months to get my NVC case number because my files were sent to the Los Angeles field office. Now this...

After 4 months my file has finally made it to NVC!!!!

Can I take my car to the U.S. before my visa is approved then do the import paperwork after I get my visa?
-
If you don't mind me asking how did u find out ur paperwork was still st the local office? I fear the same thing is happening to me
I found out from NVC Research that mine was sent to the L.A. local office.
Since then we have contacted our congressman and they left a message for my husband saying our file was sent to NVC on June 18. It took them a week to locate it and get it sent to NVC. I'm very impressed...

I got my NOA2 on March 29 and NVC hasn't received my file yet. I found out that it was sent to the Los Angeles local office, which apparently is like putting it into a black hole.
My husband contacted his congressman and they have been looking into it. They told him yesterday that our file is on it way to NVC now (fingers crossed). They said it was sent to the L.A. office because they thought I was living in L.A. which doesn't make sense since I can't live there without a visa.

I received an email from NVC saying that my petition has been retained at the Los Angeles field office.
Does anyone know what that means?
My husband got a call from his congressman yesterday to ask him some questions about our application. Said they'd get back to him on Monday.
Hopefully we'll know what's going on soon.
