Hello, I hope everyone is doing great! I am a USC and is about to petition my stepson in the Phils too who is 8 years of age. I read that I have to submit a competed form I-130. Can anyone tell me what other documents and requirements should I submit? I already prepared a cover letter, payment of $420, competed form I-130, completed form G-1145, copy of my birth certificate, copy of my passport biographical page, copy of myself and my wife's marriage certificate and my step-son's copy of birth certificate. This is my first marriage so I don't have to provide any proof of termination of previous marriage. I wonder if these are all the requirements needed. Thank you in advance for any advise I can get.

  2. Congratulations!! Did it change straight away to show as Approved on the USCIS 'Check Status' page?

Yes, the status immediately changed to Post Decision Activity from the never ending Initial Review.

As pissed as I was at USCIS for being so slow, the emotion changes to apathy rather quickly and all hard feeling are put to rest and replaced by rejoice in knowing that the process will now continue. You also come to realize that none of it was personal to USCIS and it is just business and they will continue to trudge along, although it wall all very personal to me.

  3. Wow! Congrats! I thought there is no point in checking the status compulsively after 6 pm. Maybe they have night shifts at scs now to go through the boxes of petitionos  I would be more than happy to help

My guess is that they probably have a nightly job setup on a daily scheduler that automatically performs the website updates and sends the emails. You could ask another noa2 recipient what the time stamp on their email was to confirm. If so, you could probably stop checking during the day if you know the update happens only once per day at night..

  4. Hi Alex&Amy,

We didn't do something like that but we filed some service requests before. We called customer service almost everyday and most of the calls were full of frustrations and disappointments. We argued a lot with the representatives and tier 2s because all they tell us is to wait and that they can't do anything. We never received any correspondence from the service requests that we filed. One time, a tier 2 told us that he will look into our case and will give my fiance a call the following morning but he never did call. When we call the next day and searched for that person, the representative that we spoke with said that there is no tier 2 with that name there. They were of no help to us. We just waited and became really patient. Prayers, for me, helped a lot! You will get your NOA2 when you least expect it. Good luck to everyone. :)

  5. Hi,

I feel for you. I was starting to lose hope already. But then, I realize that feeling this way will not really help. I am waiting for almost 7 months and 1 week now. It's frustrating. I guess we need to be more patient. I believe our approval will come soon. I called customer service last night and the agent told me that they are processing July 18 application. But when I asked for a tier 2, he said that it was the last update since Dec 31, 2012. There's no more update after that. So I am clueless about what is happening. It seems that the information on their system is not updated because there are also some August and September filers that are approved. Apparently, I was also given some general information only because I am the applicant. Tier 2 can only give updates on the case to the petitioner.

  6. We are August filer to we have the same status..its almost 8 months now of waiting.

Hi Jack and Jewiel, I'm the beneficiary and I'm from the Phils too. In fact, the place where I live is just an hour away from where you live. Let's start keeping each other posted about our cases. Me might get approved at the same time. It would be nice to have a companion on the medical exam at St Luke's and the interview once we get our NOA2. :)

  7. We received our NOA1 2nd August of 2012 and until now we don't get any news about it. My fiance calls them everyday but they can't provide any information about our case. It's really frustrating knowing that we are about to reach our 8th month in this waiting room! It feels so sad being away with the love of my life and this office is making things worst by not providing any specific detail about our petition. I am hoping against hope that things will be better and that somehow receive good news soon. Are there some applicants out there specially August filers under CSC who have already gotten their NOA2? I checked Igor's list all the time but I don't see a lot. It seems that hearing some good news and other approvals will make me feel better. I just want to know if they are still working or what.

  8. My fiance and I met only once as well and we never fail to communicate everyday since then. We chat/video chat through Facebook and Skype, watch movie together through screen sharing, send each other emails and yms, call and text each other etc. Everything is so wonderful since we became a couple. Our relationship just keeps on growing and it makes us a better person. Problems also happen but if the love is great, there is no big problem that can't be resolved. It doesn't matter even if you only met her once (it should be within the last two years though) as long as your relationship is sincere, genuine and on-going, everything will be okay. I am not worried about that fact. If you are both serious, the consul will definitely see that spark in her eyes at the time of her interview telling that she is in love with you and that she is happy being in a relationship with you.
