Good luck! We will be following you on the 18th!
-
Hank, you have helped so many people find their way. Personally, you have helped us tremendously not only with direct answers. Reading your answers to others' question, too, has helped us to not clog up the boards with our questions. There are so many that you have affected for the rest of their lives. I want to thank you for all that you have done, and will do. You are always spot on with your advice. I look forward to receiving your replies whenever I ask a question.
From Rodalyn and I, mahalo and aloha Hank!

One option for us here in is that we have a BDO and PNB in the US. We opened an account with my name OR her name. Then we'll just withdraw it here in the US for a small fee. If you do this, make sure it is your name OR her name, not AND. if you put AND, you will both need to present to do any bank transaction while at the bank.
Hope this helps

Hey all. Another question for the visa sages.
What are the ramifications of changing our interview date (for the 2nd time) after completing the St Luke's medical exam? We have to submit our interview confirmation letter that has our current interview date. What will happen if we change out date now?
The first time we changed it my fiancée had not completed st Luke's. now that she has completed it, we might need to change our appointment date again.

Try to get married by a judge or mayor of her province. It is recognized more than getting married by a minister or priest. In rural Philippines, anyways.
-
Mahaloz to all for your invaluable insights. It helps tremendously!
There are no red flags on our petition. Everything is stated and supported. Past divorce is clean and over 10yrs. Finances are strong and proof of relationship is too. I shouldn't worry so much but I would hate to restart the process at any point behind where we are now. This whole thing is such a pain the #######! Hehehe
To my bruddah, yeah brah, she get some comfort knowing get one jollibee, max's, golden coin and red ribbon here! Lol!!! Jokin aside, I found one sarisari store on beretania with da banana ketchup, pancit canton, all kine stuff from Philippines. But she like local grinds (I wen cook plate lunch for her. Chicken katsu, Teri beef, 2 scoop rice and Mac salad) she said if hawaii get plenty like dis, she happy!
And yah, bra! I do camera fo da games. I tired shooting losses!

Cebu pacific has promos running oct 2-5. We got quoted 770php to tacloban. There are other destinations that benefit from this promo. Check it out at a Cebu pacific office. I don't see the same promo being advertised online.

What if you put the wrong date in priority date? Is that critical?
-
Ours Oct. 18. Anyone else on that date?
-
Congratulations!!!

All you need is a valid US drivers license and you are good to drive for 30 days. It was a bunch of fun renting motorcycles and going around. If you are an aggressive driver, you will see the traffic pattern and fit right in. Lol'

Apple21, thanks for the instant reply! Wow, feels like a load off my shoulders knowing if I can't make it, it doesn't hurt. Of course, I am doing whatever I can do be there!!
Mahalo again!!

Aloha to all!
First I want to thank everyone who has contributed to VJ. The wealth of knowledge in information and experience has been very valuable to us. It has helped us get to this point in the process: the interview.
Question: due to my work and dad getting very sick. I am having a strong challenge making it to my fiancée's interview. In all of your experiences, if I can't make it to be with my honey for her interview, how much does this lower our chances for approval? Our petition is very complete, she has all the information (and then some) of contacting, conversations, tickets stubs, gags of pictures and a i129f built exactly to VJ specs. My finances are strong enough to not need a sponsor, etc.
I could really use insight in this.
Mahalo everyone! Aloha!

There is an order to what looks like mayhem. When I drove in Manila, Balibago, Subic and other areas like Tacloban and Catbalogan, I saw what makes total sense to a use the analogy of having rocks in a container and being asked is the container full? Then smaller rocks are put in and the question asked again. Then sand, then water...you know what im trying to say. If you look at traffic that way, the order of right of way enabled by the skill of the driver becomes clear.

Congratulations!

It's not the best system in the world, I agree. I had that warning appear too!
-
It does float. There are bookings and cancellations all the time. It helps to check back as often as you can. I checked 4 times a day for 2 weeks, eventually the day we were hoping for opened. Plus who knows how often their site is updated.
-
And if she never had TB, she needs to return on the third day for a reading so don't plan on going later than Wednesday.
Good reading :

You have to cancel before you can reschedule your appointment if you do it online. We did with no problem rescheduling.
-
As long as you have your case #, your receipt of payment and passport info you can create a profile on cgifederal.force.com and make your appointment. I would wait for packet 3 to arrive just make sure you have it.
Have you finished your medical exam?

Interesting. Fiancée paid 140php each for NBI and CENOMAR. Both received within an hour.
-
Awesome responses! Rode took care of the CENOMAR today.
Much mahaloz to all!
-
How important is the CENOMAR to the interview? I read about it online but my fiancées instruction sheet doesn't mention bringing one.
Her instructions include:
Appointment letter
CEAC confirmation letter (not required for K visas)
Valid passport
2x2 photo with white background
She never has married so we were wo serving, too
-
Thank you all for your responses!
The phone system is the most difficult way to schedule an appointment. No problem with the online system. We have our interview next month!! Hope all goes well!

That is so true! PNB is not the easiest to work with.
