  1. Hi guys,

My Fiance's interview is over and generally it went very well. They asked her some questions about me (Job, residence, how did we meet?, when do we plan on getting married?). All the paperwork was in order except one thing - A document from the local passport office verifying that her passport is original. It was mentioned on Packet 4 however we didn't get it because her passport was made within the last year. We took a chance because everything else was in order including the police record but they put her visa on hold.

Now, she has to submit the document before they issue her the visa.

THE GOOD NEWS IS.......... that the officer told her that everything is in order and that visa will be issued as soon as she submits the passport document.

Therefore, anyone who is going through New Delhi needs to make sure that they have ALL the documents including the passport and the police records. If we had completed the document, she would have had her visa.

    Just an FYI! Good luck.

    Thanks,

    vishrit

P.S. - I meant the K1 visa. The heading says K3 in error

  2. Wanted to check to see if I have my NOa2 since I got this vague email about them mailing me a document. (not an RFE) what prompts do I choose to get through the automated attendant and talk to a real person? Any help would be appreciated and I will share what I learn tomorrow if I can get through.

    800#----1-----2-----6-----1-----WAC#-----1-----Wait a little bit and than 3-----1.

I haven't tried this for over a month. Let me know if it still works.

    Thanks,

    - vishrit

  3. Hi guys,

I am back again! So, she has finally got an interview date on July 24th, 2006 and all the documents have been completed and submitted to the VFS office. We are all good to go and hopefully, there should not be a problem in getting the approval.

Does anyone of you have any tips that I could use?

Thanks for all your support in the past eight months. I don't know what I would have done if you guys weren't there.

    Thanks,

    - Vishrit

  4. Although I await the NOA2, I already have packet 3 documents formatted, filled out and ready to go.

    I am talking about DS-230 part 1&2, DS-156 and DS-156K, DS-2053, DS-3024, Ds-3026, Police reports, Birth certificates, G-325A's Divorce decree, I-134 affidavit etc, etc..

The required filing documents vary by Embassy, but you should be able to learn what they are at the Embassy site that applies to you.

My Fiance and I have worked very hard to get all this documentation ready, so that the rest of the process will be faster.

When I called the Embassy, they sent me all of the forms. I suggest everyone get this piece done now, it will save you time in the long run.

Why wait until the Embassy forwards the Docs after NVC approval? You could submit the next day.... That could shave a month from the process.

    Just a thought.

While that might be fine & dandy at your Consulate, some require additional forms that are only included in packet 3 and cannot be 'ordered'. For example... the Montreal Consulate requires that a checklist that they send you be sent back, and it's personalized with your name etc... Also, one of the doctors that does your medical in Toronto requires you packet 3 letter.

By what you are saying, having certain forms ready is all you need to do, which is not correct, regardless of where you worked before.

First of all, had you clearly read my post, I indicated that U.S. Embassy policy varies by county. I quote:

" The required filing documents vary by Embassy, but you should be able to learn what they are at the Embassy site that applies to you."

Further, the following applies to everyone: DS-230 part 1&2, DS-156 and DS-156K, DS-2053, DS-3024, Ds-3026, Police reports, Birth certificates, G-325A's Divorce decree, I-134

I offered this information as a heads up, to expedite your process. If you choose to wait, well, your loss mate. I was trying to help, despite where I have worked before! My Fiance K-1 Visa will generate within a week of the NVC release. You?

Wait a minute.... What are these forms? DS-2053, DS-3024, Ds-3026???? My Fiance just got her packet 3 and there was no mention of these three forms. She is going through the New Delhi consulate.

  5. Hi there,

First of all, I would like to wish all of the Post March 6th individuals a very best of luck for a speedy process. Now that major news organizations are covering the story, I am assuming that the government has a little more heat on it.

Now, I am very happy and stressed at the same time because my Fiance's visa interview got scheduled in Delhi on July 24th, 2006. I will be sending her all the documents required asap.

    Please wish us luck!

  6. Hello Everyone,

I just want to say how great this website is! It's nice to hear so many people are going through the same thing... well, almost nice to hear - I wish no one had to go through this. :D

I have a general question for anyone with fiance in India. We are getting ready to send in the initial paperwork, but I am waiting on my fiance's passport. He applied for this over 2 months ago. India does not want to issue even a tourist visa to the us due to age brackets (if they are in the early - mid twenties). Has anyone ever had a passport denied? And, how far have you gone with the paperwork before the passport copy was required for your fiancee?

Thanks for you help and advice!!!! :D

My Fiance is in India. The Indian government will not deny anyone a passport unless there is something wrong with the information that was provided in the passport application. My Fiance' passport nearly took 4 months to be issued so it will take some time. The best way to gauge this is that normally the passport is issued approximately a 45 days after Police Enquiry. If the police enquiry hasn't been conducted yet than you have some time to go. If you want more details, send me a personal message and I will give you my phone number there.

    Thanks and best of luck!

    - vishrit

    Thanks Vishrit,

I have sent you a pm! Did you wait for the passport before filing the initial paperwork?

Best of luck to you as well!

Hi there, yes, I did. It is safer that way! Will chat tomorrow. Take care!

  8. OH NO! I am so sorry to hear this. I sincerely hope things pick up for you. Remember, it took them 137 days to approve my case. I know what you are going through right now.

I really don't believe that it will take them six more months I think the six months is a summation of time that they have already delayed and the remaining time to go.

You will be in my prayers. It is absolutely amazing how this freaking system works. Have faith and I would suggest you contact your congressperson again to see if they can somehow speed things up.

    Good luck.

    Sincerely,

    - Vishrit

  9. Guys,

My NOA2 that I have been waiting for finally got here by snail mail. I am looking at it right now and it is the most beautiful thing in the world. I never thought I would fall in love with a piece of paper! LOL.

Lap 1 and 2 are complete.

    Final lap to go.

I wish you all the best for your journey too. You guys are my biggest support!

    - Vishrit

  10. I think you should send NOA2 copy to your fiancee. In packet3 your fiancee will receive either DS230 Part I or DS156K or maybe both. Your fiancee will have to fill it out n send it back to Delhi along with 2 photographs and checklist.

I dont know much about New Delhi embassy but you can check "Embassy/USCIS Reviews" section.

    Airwarrior,

I am planning to fill out all the forms required by the Embassy and send it to my fiancé. Will that be ok? Or, should she be the one filling out the form? I am going to fill everything and let her sign the stuff (I know some stuff has to be signed in front of the Embassy official).

    What do you think?

    Thanks,

    - Vishrit

  11. I'm really really happy things are moving faster for you now dude. It's gotta be a great feeling. I'll live through you for awhile while I still wait for the damn noa2 lol.

Thanks Calidreamer80. I am very happy too. Suddenly, things have picked up real fast. My application was at the NVC for only 9 days before they sent it to Delhi.

I sincerely wish you all the best! I know what you must be going through right now coz' I went through the same thing two weeks ago. Please have faith and you will be where I am soon.

    Thanks,

    - Vishrit

  12. vishrit,

What you have is good. If you have more pictures of you two together then send all pictures together you have an put it in small album so she can take it to interview.

Also, send few cards, letters, emails, chat conversations, etc..

You should also prepare DS150 & DS230 part I for Packet3 and 2 photographs of your fiancee.

Which US Embassy are you going through? Mumbai, New Delhi?

I am going to Mumbai and my fiancee just sent packet3 few days ago.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the message. I am going through the Delhi embassy. I hope it is not too bad. Do you know any information on that embassy? Also, what is the DS150 and DS230? I checked on the Embassy's website and all it mentioned was the DS-156k.

    Thanks,

    - Vishrit

  13. Hello friends,

I just got an email from NVC stating that my case has been forwarded to the Embassy in India for further processing. I guess I on the fast track now. Anyway, I need some help gathering the documents I will be required to send my fiance over in India. I made a list with the help of the 'Guides' section and just wanted to double check with you all just in case I am missing something.

    Here is the list:

    - Copy of the Original I-129F petition.

    - A letter from my fiance and I still affirming our desire to marry.

    - I-134 with the supporting pay stubs, letter from HR etc. etc.

    - Do I need to send additional pictures? If yes, will it be for both of us.

    - Copy of the NOA2? I don't have the NOA2 yet. I think it has been lost. I have emails from NVC, that's it.

    - Copies of the latest phone bills, my airline boarding pass (Last visit to India in Feb, 06).

    What else will I need?

Thanks again for all your help!

    - Vishrit

  14. its bene just one day now aftre i did send my petition and cant wait,,, i cant wait read some news from you friends...i want my NOA1 :crying::whistle::whistle:

One Day, eh? If this is bothering you already, you might want to consider hiring a psychiatrist for the rest of the journey. I know I nearly went to the funny farm!

  15. Vishrit,

I am so happy for you. I know how dejected you were just a few days ago. Though I feel dejected today about my scenario (because I am a post 3/6 petitioner), I also feel that someday I will see light in the end of the tunnel.

Best wishes for the future... Please let us know how rest of the process goes..

    Vibha

    VSSKS,

I know it won't make much sense to you right now because I felt the same way before, but, it will all be worth it in the end. I now seem to be coming towards the end of my journey and every day of despair was worth it!

You will be in my thoughts! Hope you get a speedy processing!

Thank you all for the wonderful wishes.

    - Vishrit

  16. I emailed CSC again yesterday asking about my case and I got the reply "This petition was approved May 17, 2006 and notice was mailed to your address of record". I emailed them back because I didn't receive a NOA2 via email or snail mail. The person told me that his system shows that my petition has been approved and the case has been forwarded to NVC and I should call them (He gave me the number).

So, I called NVC and BEHOLD, they have my case and YES, it was approved on May 17th, 2006.

The person told me that my case will be forwarded to embassy in India in about a couple of weeks. Is that true?

So, I called USCIS (800#) back and after waiting for a cool 26:32, the nice lady told me that if I don't receive the NOA2 within 30 days than I should call them back.

I came home and I got the following email 3 times from CRIS [uSCIS-SRMT@dhs.gov]. It says:

"The following is the latest information on your case status

    Receipt Number: xxxxxxxxx

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status:

On May 25, 2006, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283.

*The projected processing time frame can be found on the receipt notice that you received from the USCIS.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

    Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)"

This means that I got a NOA2, right? I can't believe it. I had lost all hope!

Well, I would like to thank all of you for all your support when I was down because of the security checks delay. It took 133 days from NOA1 to approval date. I am still wondering how come I didn't get an email from them before.

Special message to calidreamer80, kimlbs and snz1802:

I know you guys are in the same position as I was for the past few weeks. The bottom line is that your NOA1 date is after me so there is a lot to hope for.

I hope you get your approvals soon too.

Thanks again to everyone! I am sure I will have a lot more questions as my case progresses. I thank you in advance for all the future help too.

    Sincerely,

    - Vishrit

  17. While I agree that we need individual things to cling to for comfort, and to make this seem easier- I don't buy that for a minute.

I live in NY, and saw with my own eyes what happened here. I don't feel any more secure than I did on Sept. 12th, 2001.

    Bottom line is-

Some of these ladies have been waiting for their HUSBANDS for too long... There is NO reason why a "security check" should be take months & months, regardless of the origins of the beneficiary's country. For me, it simply means someone's not doing their job real efficiently and wasting my tax dollars by sitting on their a**.

To the OP-Your heart was in the right place, trying to give some of us comfort, but the bottom line is that I still sleep alone every night.

    AMEN TO THAT!!!!

  18. There isn't a damn excuse in the world for it taking as long as its taking. NONE! It shouldn't take 6 plus months for security checks.

This is absolutely correct! How long does the damn thing take? Even if they worked on 10 cases a day (From start to finish) in one service center, we won't be sitting for 120+ days waiting what the hell is going on. I can understand if we fit the profile of a 'terrorist' but keeping my fiance away from me who is a 23 year old primary school teacher while they perform security checks is absolutely ridiculous while 11 million illegal immigrants from God knows where having all kinds of different intentions are residing in our country right now.

Although I understand what the sister is trying to say but, to be totally honest, she is not in the same position as you, me or everyone on this site. So, she has a completely different perspective on things. Please keep in mind that I am not putting anyone down. All I am saying is that it is all about perspective. Anyone heard a saying...... "One minute is a very relative amount of time and the length of it entirely depends on what site of the bathroom door you are on at 7 in the morning".

Just thought I would bring some humor into all of this misery.

    May God help us all!

    - Vishrit

  19. I am in the same boat (only the one which has sunk a little bit more). I am on day 139 today with no real hope. I emailed them last month and they told me that I am in security BLAH BLAH BLAH.....!

So, I am just patiently waiting. I emailed them again today but haven't got any replies yet.

I really feel for you since I am going through the exact same thing. Please don't let it get to you. I have ruined countless nights and days just thinking about this ####### and at the end of the day, I am the one who is miserable.....not these morons at USCIS.

All I can say is .....hang in there. You are not alone. Here is a rose to offer you strength and give you support. Be brave and don't let any of these idiots pull you down.

    (F)(F)(F)

    Regards,

    - Vishrit
