  1. Nigeria embassy is extremely difficult and for that reason most of us frontload. I can say from personal experience frontloading helps tremendously with this particular embassy. At the original petition stage (USCIS) you do send some of this evidence, however usually by the NVC stage you have more visits, more phone logs, more emails, etc. For example from USCIS to NVC I had made 10 additional visits I wanted the embassy to see. So, I sent that evidence with my paperwork at the NVC stage. At my husband interview they did ask when was the last time he saw me and then looked at the file and said "Oh, wow!". Front loading helps for the Nigerian embassy. It is one of the most difficult in the world. However, it appears you are past the point of front loading if the interview is soon.

  2. I appreciate the kind words and support. But honestly my husband plays pro soccer. This process has delayed his career. We cannot wait any longer. We will just have to live outside the US. I cannot endure this process anymore. They also are saying pending administrative processing. More problems to come.

Oh, I understand. How exciting to be married to a pro soccer player! However, not exciting if you cannot be together as man and wife. He certainly cannot delay his career waiting. I know it is a sacrifice for you to live outside the U.S., but it could be quite an adventure for your little family. I imagine you want your little one to be close to his dad and not waiting any longer also. Please take care and wishing you the very best!

  3. DSwheels and Saylin I would like to thank you very much for all of your help on this journey. Your detailed instructions and patience with all of us helped me get through a very long process. Your instructions were so detailed that I was able to get through the entire process without a RFE or Checklist. No way could I have done this without you guys and all the members on VJ. I am so moved that you guys volunteer your time to help people in such an amazing and necessary way. I pray for you guys all the time. Soloenta, your moral support for everyone is truly priceless. I have been encouraged just reading some of your replies. You are always in my prayers as well.

P.S. Now you guys help me pray for my hubby's interview.....please....

  4. Our interview was a disaster. My husband was told we need a co sponsor. I didnt make enough money last year but I make more than enough this year. I provided current paysubs and bank statements. They did not even consider current income. I also have to do a DNA test on our son. I don't care abou the DNA test. I wish NVC would have let me know a co-sponsor would be needed.

Oh no Monalisa! I am so very sorry. Unfortunately, it is like DSWheels said Africa (as a whole) is very different. They require much more than just NCV. NVC wouldn't require a co-sponsor, but most African embassies look at more than just the current year. DNA test is normal as well. Please don't get downhearted, because at least they did not say no. I know you have been waiting a while, but hang in there.Sending prayers and endurance your way.

  5. I asked the CO on nairaland about the interview in Lagos and she responded that NVC had asked them for their free slots for November and they have given NVC the November schedule about a month ago. She also said NVC have asked them about December schedule this week. Since NVC already have November and December schedule with them why is it taken them this long to start dishing out the dates. I guess there's no end to this process, one has to wait at every stage.

Congratulations EOC on case complete! Yeah! Just saw it when I got back home. Your comment is interview information so thank you so very much. I am just praying we all make November interviews.

  6. I just called and spoke with NVC rep {didn't get hold of his name}. He told me about the missing document and also waiting for the supervisor review. I asked to talk with Supervisor Silvia, he placed me on hold and he told me that Supervisor Silvia said Octavio is the supervisor currently handling my case file and that he resume 4pm, he asked me to call back in the evening to speak with Octavio any time from 4.30pm.

**Hubby planned to call this night anyway but I was just too impatient to know the outcome of our case.

At least am a bit relief someone has been appointed to handle my case file and Supervisor Silvia and the rep even confirmed its Octavio without me telling them hubby had spoke with Octavio before.

Am praying to God to touch the heart of Octavio and make him check my file and give me a CC. My prayers also goes to Soloenta, Samreen, Romil, Msc and everyone going thru this immigration process. We all shall come out of this process victorious and happy by God's grace.

I have been traveling so off VJ for a while. I was sure I would see your case complete by the time I returned. I am so very sorry. Hopefully the supervisor will see what everyone else is missing.

  7. Spoke to Reese and what a B she is said I DO NOT HAVE A CASE COMPLETE that it's under Supervisor Review to get it complete and can take up to 30 days to get this done. But she didn't think it would take that long.

I called again right away and spoke to Torry nicer but of no help and said the same your case is not Case Complete and it's in the hands of a Supervisor asked if I could talk to them the obvious NO we are not in the same department and they don't take calls.

This is the reason I hesitated to say I had a Case Complete, right now my heart sank to my feet and all I can do is sit there and stare at the VJ page. I should have known better but of course I let my guard down and let myself believe this was almost over with. God only knows how long this will take a day or weeks. God be with us all.

Even to those who are lurking and happy to see this, I wish you no harm but a speedy process.

    WHAT!!!! WHAT!!!!!!! GRRRR.....

  8. Yes oh! eoc4ever, proudly naija. You and I were neck and neck till I got that dreadful checklist for aos on the 22nd of august. My scan date for checklist is the 29, and iv 25. By God' grace you should get case complete by next week. No more scheduling for October at the consulate. I found it out on nairaland. I guess you will probably get early November.

I am so bummed! I was hoping October was still open. Shoot!

  9. Well they kicked us all out and the font isn't that big and second I had Lazix sugery that went bad and for now I need to see what I type and no glasses don't help much. :DNOW THIS IS MUCH BIGGER DON'T YOU THINK?

Soloenta, I read what someone wrote about your font size. I am very sorry. Sometimes people comment on things without consideration for circumstances or feelings. My father just had cateract and LASIK surgery, which did not go well. My heart goes out to you.

  10. Thanks for the kind words of support. I'm so appreciative of the VJ forum and community. It's easier knowing we are all in this together and that there are others who understand the stress of this process. Most of the people we know don't really understand.

I will certainly keep everyone posted on the checklist turn around time. I was so upset I was planning on submitting the corrected AOS myself, but I've decided to let the lawyer clean up his own mess (with my close review of course). If I think things moved any quicker by letting the attorney answer the checklist I will be sure to post that.

I am so sorry. I immediately felt so sad for you. Please know we all are feeling your pain. Praying for a fast review of checklist.

  11. Hahahaha OMG yes same here and mine was first week of March 2013 for those zipping by and complaining. I know we all want to be with our loved ones no matter how long it has been, as it should be. I think I'm just tire and tired and sick of this whole thing. I'm trying to be strong but it seems we just can't catch a break. :) Happy I'm not the only one I was feeling horrible. :D

Oh sweetie! You are LONGER than me. Your amazing and very funny comments along with my beautiful (I might be partial) husband keep me going. I am praying for you :-)

  12. :D There is no easy way to say it so I wont try. Most of the people getting to this stage right now had smooth saling at USCIS, how long did it take most of us to reach this stage? I'm sorry but I want a ________ insert expletive, a break also. We keep seeing people zip on by who pretty much just started the process and complain how long it's taking to get CC and yet they get another break. I'm tired of it, I'm sorry I can't be happy for them. I don't want them to go through what we did but I just can't be jumping up and down with joy either. Sorry. :(

Yes, I absolutely understand and feel the same. It took almost one complete year just to get NOA2. THEN we are further delayed at the NVC stage. Like you, I have been hanging on since MAY 2013. Let me repeat MAY 2013! I used to say I laugh to keep from crying. Now, I cry to keep myself from laughing hysterically like somone having a nervous breakdown. I need to ask my family if I am hiding well or is the breakdown still peeking through where they can see it :-)

  13. Isn't it terrible Molly we were screwed each and every step of the way. Just isn't fair, I'm sorry just isn't, we deserve a break now more than anyone else. :((F) (L) (F)

OMG ok in that case I take it back. YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Hadn't thought about it in that way.

I think you are right Soloenta! Each step gets better and faster AFTER our case! Grrrrr..... Well, at least people after us will have an easier time. Thank God for that!
