Yeah, the IO told me they made a mistake on the printout. Again, the RFE i got was just a printout and not a designated RFE form - i believe I797-RFE or something.

Anyhow, i amended the date on the marriage license (30 mins and free). They gave me the amended original, along with a small attachment with the amendment request, which was also certified. Its good to order several certified copies of the license, along with the attachment to it, which i did.

I sent the RFE to both the address on the RFE printout AND the address i got my NOA1 for I485 (i was instructed by the IO officer to do so, he was unsure where the case was)

Now, the waiting game....

Anybody knows how i can check if they actually received the RFE, except the sig confirmation/tracking i sent the packages with?

Just an update on my RFE:

Tomorrow i am going to the court house to get my marriage license amended. It is free and it is done by the judge.

I also called USCIS and got to 2nd level IO and he told me to send the RFE both to the address on the RFE letter (I did not receive standard I797-RFE form but just a printout, which was strange) AND to the address that i received my NOA1. So, tomorrow i will update more once i get the license amended.

If what the RFE says about your marriage certificate is true then for sure you have to get the marriage certificate fixed, so take it to the county clerk/court house & get it fixed.

By the way, are you using a lawyer? They checked the "copy sent to lawyer" checkbox...

Yeah, RFE is correct about our marriage license (we never noticed nor did the people at the court house). We are going to try to resolve next week. The RFE does not say where to send the amended marriage license though. Does anybody have any exerience with RFE without Sent-To address. Do i send it to the same address that the RFE came from? It came from a different state that what my local office is.

I am not using a lawyer, so i am not sure why they checked that box. Maybe because i had the "In Care Of" portion of the I485 filled out.

There is indeed something amiss here. They have made some sort of mistake, and you need to get it cleared up.

You can call the regular USCIS customer service number listed on their site, but tell the person answering the phone that you need to have your escalated to an immigration officer that has access to your case details. Better yet, make an infopass appointment to speak to an IO in person. They may be able to clear up the mistake for you right then and there.

I will try to call and speak to an officer first thing on Monday. The only thing that bothers me is that i am running of time. I am supposed to have the response sent within 30 days, and i will have lost 10 already by Monday...

How long does it take for an Infopass? Would you say that i can schedule one within 2, 3 days or we are talking weeks here?

Does it have your correct name and any case number from the forms you actually filed, or is the case number not one of yours? It seems there was a mistake made, especially since you did not file an I-130. You can call and ask for a tier 2 IO, or better yet make an infopass appointment and take all your paperwork along with the RFE and ask them why you received an RFE for a form you did not file.

Was the incorrect date on your marriage certificate outside the 90 day window you have to get married with the K-1?

It has the correct alien number (A#) under File No. No receipts or case numbers were listed. The form is wrong and the last name was misspelled as well.

No, the incorrect date is only a day after the correct day and well within the 90 days allowed with K1.

I am not even sure where to send it. Nothing is given in the letter.

I am lost as to how to proceed. Is it a common practice to call the toll free number and ask to speak with tier 2 officer? What number ?

You would need to check with your local court about how to amend the marriage certificate.

Why are you filing an I-130 when adjusting from a K-1?

Are you in NJ? Field office address at top says NJ.

That's a darn good question, i apologize we are a bit on edge at the moment. We have NOT filed I130, only the I485, I131 (AP) and the EAD one. I am attaching another pictured of the actual portion where it says FORM I130

I am not in NJ, i am in Oklahoma City, OK. No other address is listed, nothing.

p.s. By the way, we were very happy today because our AP and EAD were approved today. Then we came home and we saw the RFE.

I am in the middle of I130 process after a K1. I received an RFE today because the Date of Marriage on my Marriage Certificate was wrong!. We never noticed it and neither did the people at the court house when we submitted the Marriagel License after our wedding!

I have two questions:

1. Anybody has anything similar happened to them? Please share how to go about changing this on our marriage certificate?(Pics provided of the actual message)

2. Where do i send the RFE? Nowhere in the letter it says to send it at a particular address. We are unsure where to send it. Should be be the address that the letter came from? (Attached)

In the Letter of Intent what should be USCIS address that me and my fiance have to fill out? Is it the Texas dropbox? Since we dont know where our case is going to be transferred to right? Please help. Thank you!

Two more questions came to mind:

Do i fill out and sign my fiance's G325a form or does she? (Sorry, if it is a dumb question i just have to make sure ;-))

I know all forms have to be hand-signed AND i do know they want you to also fill out the forms (if writing info in them, as opposed to typing) with BLACK pen. Well, isnt it harder to figure out if they are hand-signed if it is black ink ? I signed my N400 with blue ink pen (just the signature) and i thought that was better proof that they are indeed hand-signed.

I am to become a US Citizen shortly, but I am preparing a K1 visa packet for my fiancee, which i cannot wait to see. I am filling out the forms and do have several questions for you.

Form G325a seems to have expired on 2/28/2015. There is no newer form on USCIS's website. Is that a problem?

On the G325a form for myself (a US citizen to be) what should i note in "CITIZENSHIP/NATIONALITY" (again after i attend the Oath ceremony) - Should i write "AMERICAN" or "US"?

On the G325a form should i provide my A number, since i will be a citizen? I thought it was only relevant if you are a PR... In general is the Alien number relevant after Citizenship?

On the bottom of G325a, i have to provide the Alien number again? This is related to the above questions, i guess.

On form I-129f Part 1, Question 3: Again, it asks me for A number?

Evidence:

Proof of Citizenship? I am planning on submitting a copy of naturalization certificate, as opposed to each page of my passport. Reason for that is i can submit i-129f packet immediately after my oath ceremony, rather than waiting 3-5 weeks for passport. Is that a problem? Is it better to send passport copy?

Is it better to send pictures, printed on a photo paper, then hand-signed and description on the back? Or, just print them on an A4 regular printer paper, tagged with whom and where the pic took place?

Oath Ceremony Letter has been sent out today. 2 business days after the interview...Waiting on the physical letter.

Had my interview last Thursday and got approved. I got so much documentation with me, but the only questions i got asked were related to my previous marriage....Only passports, DL and GC were asked for and shown.

Waiting for oath now...

Up until late last year they used to send out Yellow Letters just before or just after the interview letter. These Yellow Letters reminded applicants of what to bring and they often asked for 2 passport photos. This is because the photos you submitted may not be acceptable for whatever reason.

In many cases, the picture in the certificate will be the one taken at biometrics, but this isnt always the case. If you ask for a name change they will usually use the photo you submitted, not the one taken at biometrics.

I would definitely take 2 photos to the interview just in case. If they are not needed, you can use them for your passport application.

I see your point. Frankly, i dont want to risk any minor/major hitches in the process, so i am going to take some pics with me just in case.

@SaltUponWounds the photo on my naturalization certificate is the one they took at the biometrics appointment. I didn't take passport photos to my interview. They use the photo they took when you did the fingerprint appointment for the final document.

The only thing they asked me for during the interview was my court certified divorce papers, which they copied and gave me back the original.

I have my interview scheduled in 2 days and i was wondering if we need to bring anymore of the passport style photos with me? I saw another user who had some with them when they had the interview...There was not mention of extra passport photos in my interview letter and as far as my research and understanding of the process we do not have to bring any extra..

Am i correct?

I am not sure i can help you out with your question, but reading it made me think why brought 2 passport photos to your interview anyway? I have my interview in 2 days and i dont plan on bringing any photos, since there is no mention in the interview letter to bring any...

I took the oath yesterday at my local USCIS office. There were 35 candidates from 20 different countries. The ceremony last 1.5 hours in total.

The representative represent only his/ her district. Senator represent all people of the state. You need to go to house.gov

There is a link to locate your representative. Once you go there, you need to enter your address, then you will know your representative. You have only one representative not five.

The doubt i had is whether i need to tell them my specific rep or just any of the representatives for my state.

So, according to you, it be the one representative that is in charge of my district. Thank you for clearing that one for me!

p.s. i did check based on my zipcode and the name that appeared will be the answer i will give them if asked. :-)

I have a small doubt about one of the questions for the N400 interview.

When we are asked to name our US Representative, based on our state of course, which representative do we have to say? I am in Oklahoma, we have 5 separate US representatives for the 5 separate district based on this link:

So, which ones do i have to say as the correct answer? Any of them or just the one that is in charge of my specific region where i currently reside?

Anyone know what is : Evidence of Selective Service Registration means?

When you registered for Selective Service, they should have sent you a letter in the mail confirming that, along with a paper card id card that says your selective service number. Or you could print out a confirmation from their website when you enter your info

This Selective Service Evidence is also required for my interview, but i do have the card i got in the mail.

I would certainly do it immediately. If it has been more than 120 days since being in line, then you should contact them - infopass, call whatever. This is ridiculous!
