Perhaps you, VJers, tried it already, but I found it interesting browsing through other cases, changing last 1-2 digits in my case number.
Shows what results were for other cases who had interview on the date close to our case.

At least your seeing something different... I think the embassy wants to see everyone else together but us... we're still stuck at dec 12
It's been 19 months since his interview and all we want is to be together starting our own family.. it's so heartbreaking for us now
yeah, same here, December 12...
our cases seem to be treated similarly, probably lying next to each other in the same stack of paper

All praise to Allah. After being in AP for 11 months and 3 days our visa has been issued. My wife picked it this morning. Inshallah she should be here within a week. Thank you all for your prayers and support. We will continue to pray for everyone in this forum that they can also be reunited with their love ones as soon as possible.
omg congratulations! And all the best in your new and exciting life time!
Its so.. uplifting, to hear such good news from someone who was on AP for so long!

we are just weeks from you.. it is indeed very sad to see that the process of immigration is to reunite families and yet its the only thing keeping us apart...
Yeah, so sad and just heartbreaking :/

1 year, 6 months on AP today. Sad date!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Has anyone contacted a Lawyer regarding their AP? If so what happened? Was the lawyer able to get you some answers? Or is just waste of time and money?
I spoke to an immigration lawyer, he said he could not help with the case on AP - its just waiting for now.

Btw, is it the new Ambassador already, Olson? I think he arrived in Islamabad in the end of October, but I cant find whether he took office yet.

In our case:
Different countries of origin (I got US citizenship right before applying for my husband's visa)
Different religions
He lived in 2 other countries besides Pakistan
Of course, no one at the Embassy named any reasons for AP, but we believe, those are the reasons.
Hi guys,
Those of you who have been waiting on AP for a long time, do you sometimes wonder why its taken so long for you?? Example: you use to live in 2 countries or more, or age different or been divorce so many times ...ect............Im just asking so i can have a idea in my mind about this AP thing.

Ya, we should make a club. "On AP for over a year".
And discuss what has been done, what can be done, and just, kind of, keep together.

yes, same here, my husband had to do his medical again, 12 months after interview. same as the first time, he had to pay the fee.

I am so sorry to hear that, and I wish you to be strong and recover from the blow soon. Like other people here say, perhaps it was not in your destiny.

EAbbas, thank you so much for your detailed response and advises. You are being very supportive. Yes, I tried to contact people (I am the petitioner): senator #1 (responded that nothing much can be done at this point); senator #2 (contacted the Embassy, they responded with regular "keep waiting" and the senator's rep forwarded it to us); Representative (did not respond). It was about a year ago, so maybe I should try contacting them again...
I spoke to an immigration lawyer, he said nothing much can be done; I went to the Embassy when I was in Pakistan, they were nice and polite but kind of evasive with answers. Not sure if anything else could be done.
Good luck to you in your journey!
P.S. And thank you for adding our case into the timeline! He also had to redo the medical exactly 1 year after the first one.
Ridacat.... It seems that many of us are stuck in a long AP now... a few years ago it seemed the longest was about 9 months but now you see that there are a lot of us stuck between 6 months and a year and like you, we are also still stuck for 16 months with still no resolution to our case. For whatever reason its becoming more likely to be stuck for a longer time. If you are one of the lucky ones you get the visa quickly otherwise stuck living your life apart and dreaming of the day you are together.
All you can do at this point is continue to make inquiries with the embassy and DOS. If you haven't yet gotten your congressman or senator involve, now is the time to do that. Again , they can't make AP stop but they can make an impact on your case by another government office watching it closely.
good luck to you!

EAbbas, thank you so much for being so helpful and encouraging, and for keeping us updated about changes in our little community!
I have a suggestion, if its ok to ask - maybe you could highlight the change in red, or something like that?
I hope it does not sound like I am ungrateful for what you already do!
