  1. Hi guys!

i was wondering the other day that since the sponsor/ joint sponsor are proving that they can provide for u with their income and since us the beneficiaries are not allowed to work for a while after we get here , is there a way for them a( sponsor/ joint sponsor) to claim us on their taxes when they fill ( since in jan they will do that). i did call the IRS and they said i should have been here for 6 months in order for someone to claim me. but maybe the situation is different since the fill forms for the emabassy and AOS as well. i have only 3 months here and i will start to work only in jan probably ( still waiting for EAD ) so i won't fill any taxes on my own for this year.

but what about my husband? can he claim me for 2013 , for this 3 months or maybe my mother in law since she is the joint sponsor.

I am not greedy , trying to get money lol but i was just wondering how the situation goes!

thank you! have a good evening!

  2. Hi you guys!

Since the gov might start to work next week me and my husband will submit the pachage for AOS. we went to check about the money order and they said they that all money order can't be over 1000 $. so should be make 2 money orders like one for I 485 paying 985 $ and a second one of 85$ for biometrics fee and include both in the envelope?'

    thanks for your help!

I have a romanian passport and i have to 2 given names but no " - " between them. and what i did all the time was like using my name Ana as given name and my name Iosefina as middle name. even tho in romania we don't really have middle names lol

i had no problem filling the paper work like this!

and in my opinion i don't think is gonna be a problem...but i can't say for sure.

  4. Hi guys!

i am almost ready to submit my AOS package and i have a few questions but there is one that is very important. at the form I 765 for work authorization at one point they ask if i ever applied for a work authorization from USCIS before. the thing is that i was here 2 years ago on a J1 visa and i was working so now i wonder ...did i had a work authorization from USCIS before?

i talked with the HR guy from the company i used to work and he said that a J1 visa doesn't need a USCIS authorization, that is usually for HB1 visa but he wasn't 100 % . so that is why i just wanna double check to see if any of u guys know if a J1 had a work authorization from USCIS.

    thank u very much!

  5. My fiance is on K-1 status at the moment. When we get married, we will have to submit for permanent adjustment status.

One of the requirements is to complete the I864 form. Right now I do not meet the income requirements and reside with my mother.

Will my mother have to complete an I-864 form or the 864A? The reason why I ask this, is due to the fact that if she fills out the 864A form with my 864, this would bring the household up to 3. She does not claim me on her taxes, I just live there.

But, is it possible that me and my mom both fill out the I864 each? If so, we are not combining incomes. This reduces the # in each household for part 5 of the 864. Is it ok for my fiance to have 2 sponsors?

  6. Hello! i am happy to say that a week ago i got in the usa to finally be with my love.

now we wanna take things step by step and we will start with SSN. my question will be...i was here 2 years ago on a J1 visa and i already have my ssn but on the card it says valid for work only so should i go and apply for a new one or just go and tell them that i will get married and get a new one that doesn't says valid for work only.

your answers will help me a lot so thanks ahead!
