  1. Thanks for the advice. Looks like he'll be making two trips to Vancouver, one for medical and one for the interview when I'm there or he'll be in Vancouver a few days before me.

And one more question, once we get the number from NVC, we can email the embassy and they'll email packet 3? Or do we wait until they receive the physical file?

Well I just got my number from NVC on Friday and emailed the Vancouver embassy the same day saying I have my case number and if its possible to receive packet 3. They replied to my email this morning and said they have yet to receive the approved petition and to email back requesting for packet 3 in a few weeks. (Though I believe it should only take a week for the embassy to receive it?) I know that its in transit now I just checked.

  2. Finally got my case number today (exactly one month from my June 19th NOA2 date!) I called NVC yesterday and they said they just received it so to call back in a couple weeks. PFFFT and I called back today and got the number! It was sent to NVC July 11th. Hopefully it wont take long to get to the embassy. Good luck to all those still waiting, your time is coming up!

  3. Your noa2 was 06/19? You should have a case number from NVC by now...

My noa2 date was 07/08, received and assigned a case number by NVC on 07/15. If you haven't communicated with NVC between your noa2 date and now, maybe it's already been sent to the consulate? (Fingers crossed!)

Like the previous post, you can start on package 3. Get your police certificate (mine took 10mins, but I have read posts that it can take 3-4 weeks), get your immunizations if you need to, and have your fiancé fill out the affidavit of support.

    Good luck smile.png

No things are moving pretty slow USCIS only JUST shipped out the petition to NVC on July 11th. I called them today and they just received it but I was told "wait 2-4 weeks for a case number to be assigned" Its pretty ridiculous Im getting really frustrated..

My fiance is mailing off everything I need from him tmrw. As well as I'm going to my local police station to get the certificate, they said it should only take about 10mins so thats perfect! Also got a copy of my immunization and I believe I have all the shots I need.

Yes, once you have your case number go ahead and e-mail the consulate. Put your case number in the subject line and then tell them you are ready for packet 3. You can get your police certificate from Commissionaires if you have never been convicted of a crime and it will only take a few days. If you have been convicted you will need to do the whole fingerprint thing with the RCMP. If you have been married before (if you are female or have changed your name) make sure they list all names previously used on your police certificate otherwise they won't accept it.

Thank you! This was the answer I was looking for. Now they better hurry up and assign my case number so I can email the embassy..

Another helpful link for vaccinations http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1 as all the other lists are a bit confusing. Use the table towards the end of that page (should jump right to it)

Thanks for your replies, the links are helpful!

  4. I just called NVC and surprisingly got through right away. They said my case was JUST received today and that it take 2-4weeks to be processed!! WHY is everyone giving us the run around! How long does it really take them to issue a case number? This is just getting ridiculous seriously... Maybe I should try calling DOS tmrw. My NOA2 is June 19 and it was shipped to NVC on July 11, so tmrw makes exactly a month since my NOA2

  5. I just called the DOS (Didn't have to wait at all I'm calling that number from now on!). They said it was shipped out to NVC on July 11th ..which I already knew but he said its too soon for them to have received it and processed it :s That its taking "up to a few weeks, and to call back in about two weeks". Okay has anyone whos petition was shipped out on the 11th received their number yet??? I'm really hoping its not gonna be a few more weeks :(

  6. 06/19 NOA2 date. I'm going to be calling the NVC this week and hopefully will be getting my case number (fingers crossed) My interview would be at the Vancouver consulate. What I'm wondering is once I receive my case number what can I do with it? Can I go ahead and email the Vancouver consulate and request packet 3? Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out

  7. On July 11, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Just got this notice. I see others have as well. So if its just NOW being sent (They took their sweet time didn't they?) I'm guessing its another 2 weeks to a month before anyone gets a number?? Like how long is it supposed to take once its been SENT to NVC?

  8. Well I just got off the phone with NVC after being on hold for 30 minutes. The lady who answered wasn't very polite and she told me 8 WEEKS!! Then I come on here to find out that NO TSC transfers have gotten their case numbers!! Whats going on? I was approved on June 19th so just two weeks ago, and realistically I was thinking okay it'll probably take a month...but TWO? Thats not right... we have all been waiting a long time and waiting patiently I thought things would be speeding up now

  9. I had to send them a letter from my employer PLUS one from my mother's employer too along with 3 years of taxes for each of us. Human Resources should take care of it for her-I can't imagine a company having a strict policy on confirming employment! Maybe talking to her to explain how important this is and that she really needs to ask for it. It has to be on a company letterhead too. At least this is what I was told from the person handling my paperwork. It would be awful if you sent them everything BUT that letter and they wrote you back saying they needed it-then you would have lost time in this long process.

    Good luck!

Yeah I cant imagine either...but he's saying his mom can't get it. He has no one else that can sponsor us and hes hoping this long list of paper work that she needs to provide doesn't scare her off from doing it. Without this we're screwed. Apparently the co-sponsor also needs to provide copy of their birth certificate or passport bio page, to prove they are a citizen? My fiance was telling me the W2 provides everything that confirms employment and salary and that a letter shouldn't be needed. I don't know I'm just getting worried, I need to be prepared for the interview so we aren't denied :( I'm so happy we got our NOA2 but this is all so stressful. I wont feel better until I have the visa in my hand and I'm on the plane heading to my fiance!

  10. Gathering stuff after just receiving our NOA2. We need a co-sponsor and my fiances mom has agreed to be one. He explained it all to her. She said she wouldn't be able to get a letter from her employer because they have a "strict policy". I'm not sure if shes just saying this because she doesn't want to ask. I'm hoping this wont be an issue because without a co-sponsor we wont have a chance of being approved, my fiance makes just under the required amount. He would be able to provide everything needed for the affidavit of support, his mom can provide everything but an employer letter. (tax returns, W2, paystub) If it was really an issue they could always call to confirm?

Any help anyone could offer or personal experience would be great, Thanks!

  11. Congrats!!!!!!

You must start gathering birth certificates, police records/ penalty records. The whole copy of your I-129 package (pictures, boarding passes, etc all the evidence) the copy of your noa2 (hardcopy)

You will make the medical interview by the time you receive your case number. Usually you have 2 months before the interview.

    GOOD LUCK!!!star_smile.gifstar_smile.gifstar_smile.gif

    Thank you!! :)

2 months is what I thought. I'm going to get everything prepared and make sure I'm 500% ready for the interview and avoid any delays!

congrats. am so excited today so many people transfered tsc got approved.:-) i hope i get mine this week my noa1 is 15th jan

I'm sure you will get yours this week! The approvals are rolling in ...GOODLUCK!! :)

  12. CONGRATULATIONS CAMI94! yes, the ball started rolling last week till now they are approving in TSC. We got our approval too today. I think TSC is already adjudicating files everyday which is good. Maybe they just want to finish all these papers. wink.png Good lUck on the next journey! wink.png

Thank you!! Congratz to you too!! Finally TSC is getting on it, looks like everyone should have their approvals soon :) !

  13. On June 19, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

God has answered my prayers!! Today we were finally approved!! I just wanted to share the good news with everyone. Our NOA1 date was January 17th so it took about 5 months! I'm one step closer to finally being with my fiance again.

I was starting to lose hope, I thought the transferred petitions were doomed to sit in a dark corner for months. I wish everyone goodluck and pray you all get a speedy approval! Things are looking up.

Now the question that's been asked a million times, now what? I'm going to start gathering paper work and getting everything together. I'm just wondering when can I schedule a medical and then interview? Its going to the Vancouver embassy. I've read you can call the NVC ahead of time? How do I got about doing that? andd how long am I looking at before I have the interview and visa in hand?

  14. Hey everyone I just wanted to share the good news!!

TODAY I WAS APPROVED!! I can't believe it, realistically I wasn't expected to be approved until this time next month. This is it, all the transfers that haven't been approved yet..you should be getting your notice any day now! My NOA1 date was Jan 17...so it took 5 months!

I've missed the last..15 pages of the thread.. but it looks like a lot of approvals have been rolling in as of yesterday?

  15. EXTRA: There is only one place in BC that does the exam. They may have a nurse check you to see if you're a girl but it's not an actual physical exam in that sense. When I talked to another CR1 who had the exam there she didn't even have to change into a gown. The doctor felt her stomach and listened to her heart beat.

(BTW, you SHOULD find a gyno once you move and get that done. I was 22 when I had my first scare with cervical cancer which was ONLY detected by having my pap done. It was caught pre-cancerous but very close to going beyond. I had to have some special procedures afterwards and a bunch more paps, but now I'm very religious about it. Every year without fail! My mom has a hysterectomy at 38 even with yearly exams. My doctor was male and honestly, he was gentler than some female doctors I've had.)

Thanks for your reply! Doesn't sound like the exam will be too bad, I've been so nervous about that haha. You're right, last time I was at the doctor they suggested I get that done soon. My mom also had a cervical cancer scare not too long after I was born.

I just wanted to address a couple of things for you. I’m not sure about your expenses so much as we are a CR-1/CR-2 however the police certificate we got from the Commissionaires. They were cheaper for me than the local police department ($37.50 each) and fast (2 business days). I believe they’re good for a year.

The medical - you need to either obtain your vaccination record and get your boosters and/or titre tests done. Dr. Cheema’s site has a list of required vaccinations on it for you. For our medicals which we had in Toronto, the nurse just lifted the gown up a little and peeked for girl parts. No touching, just visual and very quick. My teen said the nurse seemed more uncomfortable than she was about this part. I’m thinking Vancouver will be similar.

    Good luck smile.png

Thanks! The price for the certificate is not bad, I thought it'd be a lot more for some reason so thats good. I guess if they are good for about a year I might as well go ahead and get it so I'll be prepared for the next step.

  16. I spoke to our case worker and she explained to us that it was the Canadian Information/ paperwork/ etc. that they were waiting for, or at least it was still in that stage. We were not in 'initial review' but something else. I have contacted my MP in Mississauga, Canada to see if there is any information they have, whether there information has been sent or anything to help..... I will have more updates

    Jan 17NOA1

Hmm I wonder If the same may be going on with my petition. I'm also in Canada and would be moving to Florida where my fiance is! (I noticed it says Orlanda FL under your icon) and we have the same NOA1 date!!

Hoping there's some movement and approvals before the end of the month, especially for all the December people who were transferred! If I'm lucky by this time next month I'll have an answer. Praying for the best...

  17. Like many others I was transferred to the Texas service center. NOA1 is Jan 17 and my fiance just got the letter of transfer in the mail. (Didnt get any email updates though.) We've yet to see any approvals and it seems like VSC has moved on with the petitions that stayed behind. I'm worried all us transfers have just been shoved in a corner to collect dust :/

Still hoping for the best, praying there are approvals soon... So while I wait on my NOA2 I'd like to start getting things ready. Be prepared for whats next. I've looked at the costs to be expecting
    $275 medical -Vancouver,BC
    $ ?? Police certificate
    $240 for visa
$300 for one way ticket from Vancouver airport once visa is approved

1 .Anything else I'm missing money wise? Between now and visa approval?

    2. I've heard we need police certificates and that the wait is long but how do I go about doing this, can I apply now so I have it ready?

    3. I keep reading about packet 3 and packet 4 once visa petition is forwarded to the embassy but what does that include?...Its kind of confusing. What exactly needs to be sent before I can schedule and have an interview done

    4. How can someone be a co-sponser for the affidavit of support? My fiances mom is willing to be, so does he just fill out a form and include tax returns and his mother do the same?

    5. What does my fiance mail to me once we get our NOA2? Affidavit of support, new signed letter of intent to marry, Copy of I-129f package...what else?

Also one thing I'm worried about is the medical. I know there's only one clinic in BC to do it and I believe the doctor is male, and apparently the medical test has a physical exam as well?? I've never had that done and I don't exact feel comfortable with someone looking at my *ahem* parts

Whew...thats a lot of questions! Big thanks to anyone who can help!

  18. Wow some people are so rude:/ You obviously spent a good amount of time putting this post together and thank you! Its very helpful. I know visajourney already has a bunch of guides but this really breaks it down and answers a lot of questions that are posted again and again on the forums, and the interview questions! Now I have a better Idea of what to expect.
