  1. Your biometrics fee is already included when filing I-751 ROC.

Maybe you should try walk-in at the nearest office and see if they let you do the biometrics.

I didn't know this was an option? People have really done this?

Is it possible to reschedule by calling the Jacksonville office I'm supposed to go to? I may not be able to make Tuesday now and I don't want them to think I'm abandoning my application.

  2. Okay so I just got my letter in the mail for biometrics. Its silly that I have to go through this again but I understand its a necessity.

    I have a couple questions:

Do I need to pay any sort of fee when I get there or was that all covered when I sent off the payment with the I-751?

Is there any way to change where I get the biometrics done?? The letter says I must go to the office in Jacksonville! Thats hours away! I'm really stressing about how I'm going to get there. When I did my biometrics for the 2 year greencard they had me go to the office in Orlando, which was only 40 minutes away. I don't understand why thats changed.

  3. hi

    you should send it immediately

you will have a few weeks without coverage, and yes the noa will extend your GC for a year, but it takes time to receive the NOA1

do you have joint health insurance or car insurance?

Yup I'm going to be sending it out tomorrow if not then Tuesday. I'm going to send it express so It will arrive the next day.

I will continue to work and just hand my boss a copy of my NOA1 when I receive it. Hopefully this wont cause any issues. I can't be without a job!

We don't have joint health or car insurance. I don't drive. I'm hoping what I've listed will be enough. Its all we have, as far as I can think of.

  4. Hi everyone! Its been a while since I've used the forums.

My greencard Expires on July 29th, I didn't realize it was coming up so fast! Am I too late to send it out?? I'm kind of panicking right now. I shouldn't have waited so long. Does it just need to be post dated before the 29th?

My boss mentioned that my greencard is expiring so he will need paperwork saying that I am still legal to work. Is that what the NOA will do? Temporarily extend it?

I'm going to use this guide to put together the paperwork:

Do you suggest that we get a letter from a friend as evidence? So far evidence we have includes:

    -joint bank account
    -joint renters insurance
    -joint lease
    -joint credit cards
    -Tax returns

    -Bills
    -Shared phone bill
    -Cards from family
    -Pictures with inlaws
-Picture together up until this year

Any help/tips/suggestions are appreciated! Thanks everyone!

  5. Hey Everyone!

Well I was hoping I wasn't going to get one of those pink notices but I did. I received an RFE a couple weeks ago for my green card application. I'm confused though, the RFE is asking for forms I already submitted!

    It says:

-Submit all supporting tax documentation (Form 1099 and 2555 for the non taxable income) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from the petitionet/sponsor on Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for the most recent tax year. 2012

-Submit evidence of joint sponsors status

2012 tax return including W2 was submitted in the application from both my husband and mother in law, who is my co sponsor. Its also asking for her birth certificate which we have submitted.

So my question is: is there anyone I can call to try and sort this out? There if a number on the RFE letter but I have a feeling it wont be of any help. I'm just worried i'll send the documents again and there will still be some issue?? I don't know, I'd just like this to get resolved quickly since its been sitting here for a couple weeks and I don't want my work permit put on hold any longer!

  6. That's it. smile.png Easy as that! Again, make sure you print a copy of the summary page that has the receipt number and loomis branch on it and bring it to the interview!

Alright thanks!! I didn't think of that, so I'll be sure to do that now.

  7. Hey guys

I have my medical scheduled for Monday, and my interview on wednesday in Vancouver. Up until today, I was under the impression that the panel physicians help you determine what vaccines you need to update/have, based on the records you supply. Apparently that was wrong though:(

Tomorrow I have an appointment at a travel clinic to get these done, but I have seen a LOT of conflicting information on what vaccines you actually need. Is it based on age? If so, I am 29 right now (1984). I was planning on bringing in the whole list I was sent from Dr Cheema and having them shoot me up, but if someone can give me more information, I would like the use of my arms tomorrow!

    Thanks!

    Mark

Hey! I have my medical and interview scheduled for the exact same days!! Maybe I'll see you there :)

I'm so nervous, just praying it all goes alright. Goodluck to you!

For the shots I'm quite sure I have everything I need. is Tdap= Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus? I have received it withing the last 10 years.

  8. So my interview date is on Sept 13 and just making sure everything that needs to be done is done. My medical is this Wednesday and I've signed up for Loomis...anything else I need to do? By the way, after signing up for Loomis, anything else I need to do on that front?

Sorry to invade your thread, but how do you sign up for loomis? I know when I booked my interview I had to choose the nearest loomis location, was that it?

  9. I just read somewhere that packet 3 is what we need. But the consulate isn't going to send me packet 3, because I already faxed in my docs, they told me they are mailing out packet 4 instead....

I did just email the consulate, asking them what I needed.

Hopefully someone with some experience will answer this question for us.

Yes hopefully! Its coming up fast, my medical is Sept 9th and Interview on the 11th. When did you schedule yours for?

  10. Yeah I have the same question! I don't know what letter they are referring to. Like is Vancouver going to mail a letter now that the interview is booked... Or can we bring a separate letter, along with the confirmation email, that has our name and case number (Like the packet 3 instruction letter, has my name and case number)

  11. It's been awhile but I seem to recall the case number for Vancouver starts with the letter V somewhere.... try looking at all your correspondence from the Vancouver consulate and see if you can find a number like that somewhere.

Thanks for your reply. I do know my case number, I'm just wondering what letter the medical office is referring to because I do not have one that states all three: the case number, my name AND interview date. Will Vancouver send me a letter in the mail with my interview date after I booked it online? Or can I bring two separate documents like my interview confirmation email that has my name and interview date, and then a piece of mail like the packet 3 instructions that have my name and case number ?

  12. Wow that quick. How long after Cami you had been waiting for packet 4 after you fax up you documents to embassy? Are they mail you letter or send you email.

A week after I faxed the documents they emailed me back and confirmed that they received it. They said they were sending the info to book interview. (so I assume packet 4) Although I asked for packet 4 to be sent by email they didn't, I believe they are mailing it to me. I went ahead and booked they interview though, since I know packet 4 is on the way.

  13. Sorry to invade this post but I was wondering if anyone could help me, whos already done their medical.

I just scheduled the medical for Sept 9th. It says I must bring a letter with my NAME, CASE NUMBER, and INTERVIEW DATE. Well on the appointment confirmation email for the interview it states my name and the interview date but not my case number. Is this the letter they are talking about? It says they cannot see someone who doesn't have a letter with those three things on it. So what do I do?
  14. Sorry for the double post, I cant seem to edit my topic:s

  15. As long as you know packet 4 is on the way, you should be fine scheduling an interview. Packet 4 just contains instructions on how to book the interview and instructions for visiting the embassy (ie. no cell phones etc.)

Thank you:) This is the answer I was looking for. (and I just found your really helpful guide where you stated this!) I just booked my interview and medical.

  16. Sorry to make a separate topic just for this but I couldn't seem to find a clear answer.

Exactly a week ago, last Friday, I emailed Vancouver saying that I have faxed them my checklist and to please confirm that they received it. I also said in that email if they could please send me packet 4 by email. I just got a reply today (finally! I was about to email them again). The reply said that they received my fax and that they are "sending me the information on how to schedule an appointment and interview today". I'm assuming that means they are snail mailing it to me since I got no follow up email. So my question is can I just go ahead and schedule the email since I know they are sending me packet 4?

On the Vancouver consulate guide it says:

Packet 4: Renamed Appoinment Package for Immigrant Visa
A letter which directs the applicant to http://canada.usvisa-info.com to schedule the interview and pay the visa fee. Paid online at the time you book your appointment.

If it is just a letter with instructions on how to do so, can I go ahead and do it?

As for the medical, does anyone have the email address for the local BC doctor so I can schedule the medical too? I know I need to book the appointment first and provide a date.

  17. Thanks, I was just looking for a date to work with. I submitted everything on Wednesday less than two hours after they emailed packet three. Would have been faster but of course it was on one of our busiest sale days of the whole year.

Anyways, I did not hear back on Friday at all, despite sending a second email because I want to verify they got the fax and that I didn't mistakenly send all of our personal info into someone elses hands.

And it's a long weekend here which means I wont get it until Tuesday at least. I've done a thorough sweep of other timelines at the same consulate over the last year, and everyone who emailed for packet four received it the next day or the day after at latest, which should have been Friday. I know its still way better than the months of waiting, but I'm just tired of all this waiting..... sad.png;(;(

I seem to be having the same issue! Did you hear back from them yet? I emailed them last Friday (so tmrw makes a week) Saying I faxed them the required documents and please to confirm, also that I would like packet 4 by email. I'm getting tired of the waiting too, I thought Vancouver was pretty quick to reply. Well they were the last time I emailed them requesting packet 3, the reply only took a day or 2. Im not sure if I should email them a second time. Im ready to take the medical and have the interview I'm just waiting on them to get back to me..

  18. Vancouver has my case now and they mailed out packet 3 yesterday. They also emailed me back today and copy/pasted the letter that I will be receiving in the mail. Do I print out packet 3 check everything off, sign it and fax/email it back to them? What happens next after they receive it..I can book the interview then medical?

I've got the police certificate taken care of and my fiance sent me everything I need from him. I still need to get the photos taken. I know a place that does photos for US visas and I believe I need 3? Is it better to bring extra? Any advice you can give me on the next steps, the packet 3, is greatly appreciated !

  19. I just checked the status of my k1 case on CEAC and typed in my case number (which starts with VAC) and it says:
"Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal" As of July 26.

Montreal?? There is no way I can go there, that must be a mistake! I thought it was sent to the consulate closest to you? Is that update a mistake and just saying Montreal instead of Vancouver? Should I email the Vancouver consulate? I'm not sure what to do :(
