  1. Hi, Don't really know where to post this but I met a Filipina online, we fell in love, I went to Philippines, met her, spent 2 weeks with her, took her to Boracay and Baguio city, everything perfect. Did the K-1 Visa, she got here, we married. She did not want to work. We had a baby, she got her green card. When she met other Filipinas here who married rich men, and have big houses, swimming pools and lots of spending money, they treated her like ####### because her husband is not rich and lives in a mobile home.

So, she decided money is now her goal and I cannot provide it because I don't have a degree and just will never make a lot of money. She is 30 and I am 52 so I know she also wants to live life and have fun but I could never afford to take her out and buy her things because I don't make enough and she would not work or could not work because of the baby. She found out RN's make a lot of money so she applied for and got free education to become a nurse so she quit her p/t job to go to school full time and that put us in bankruptcy....then left me for a man that makes more money, sued me for divorce, child support and Alimony. Now with all the welfare she gets, all the money I have to give her and whatever she gets from her boyfriend, she just goes to school full time and does not have to work. She and her bf will marry as soon as our divorce is over and then with her nursing income and his executive income, they will make a lot of money together. I only make $35k a year but he makes well over 100k. So now, we are separated and will have final divorce in a year. Sucks to be me, huh?

So now I'm alone and nearly broke after paying her 40% of my income in child support and alimony but I am 1/2 Filipino and want to keep my connection to the Philippines and I dont think all Filipinas are bad, I just got one that was and I want another one....not so young maybe. I'd like to find one already here but there are so few where I live. I'm wondering if I can get another one from the Philippines after I divorce. What will USCIS think about it? What are the rules and pros and cons? Can I even do it even if I can somehow get the money to do it all again?

Anyone here ever had another wife immigrate here from PH? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sorry to hear your plight. It is really a heart broken situation you are in.You can find many other Filipino partners but is that what you really want?.You can look for one already in the States looking for commitment.USCIS will raise eyes on your petition next time you file to bring somebody over...

You know what you want and you just need to be alert because any partner younger than you will still love to enjoy llife. So I suggest you find somebody around your age and I think that will help.

    Good luck to you

  2. Do I need to print the whole passport off or can I get away with just

  3. Hello everyone. I just came here to the united states and I have recieved a permanent resident card. I want to know, now that I am here, is there any thing else I need to do as far a paper work etc... I called nvc and they said there is 4 more forms that I still need to fill out and I still have to pay over 1,000.00 for a permanent resident card. I am confused because I have the card. They also said I need to see another doctor here. Is any of this true. Thanks for all your help in this matter.

What type of GC you have?marriage?Investor?dv lottory?special skill?

Elaborate your story and we could help you with some informations here

  4. here is my situation. I got married in Hong Kong. my wife is chinese. I am holding my green card for 20 years...

i plan to stay in HK and have a kid, i also need to take care of my parents because they are so old...

I don't wanna keep flying back to US several times a year... can I abandon green card now, and then wait my till my kid become 5 years old, then apply for immigration to US for the whole family?

My concern is... if I apply for conditional green card 5~7 years after i abandon green card, is it much harder to apply again?

I heard that if USCIS will definitely know I used to have a green card, then next time I apply for green card again, it would be much harder.

    is that true?

Ok I worked for an international airlines and I encounters a family that stayed away from US for more than a year. They are GC holders so I engaged them in documentation and they brought out an envelop sealed and stamped with US embassy coat of arm ...Whaf is it is a an authorization they received from the embassy to re enter US after being away for more than 12 months. So I suggest you address the US embassy in Hong kong and they will tell you what to do.never say you want to abandon your residency, rather state your reasons you woul like to stay in Hong kong

  5. Good day!, I just have a question about claiming US Citizenship and i hope someone can give answer to my query. My cousin was born here in the United States but she grew up in the Philippines and she will be turning 17 yrs. old, she will gonna come back here on April 2013, she has her US birth certificate and US passport and she is paying her fees in the US Embassy, Philippines so she can legal to stay in the Philippines.. she didn't get a dual citizenship to be a filipino... my question is that.. does she need to claim a US Citizenship? or no...? is there no problem coming back here in the United States because she never been here since she and her mom came back in the Philippines 16 yrs. ago...:(

Born in US and she has her ssn, birth certificate and a passport ...no big deal.she is a US citizen and she can live anywhere in the world and come back to US anytime she likes.and it is nice also she registered her new residence at the US embassy

  6. Hi all. I got a speeding ticket yesterday or some kind of violation while my fiancé was here in Germany visiting me.. We rent a car and he was driving so I got a letter that we got a violation somehow and I guess it's a speeding ticket. Will that affect the whole visa process? I already got my police certificate ready to send to the embassy when the noa2 arrives.

No, that would not affect your visa process because it is not a crime to be issues a speeding ticket. It is an offense and you have to be careful not to be charge for careless and reckless driving next time

  8. hi guys a friend of mine was denied of the k1 visa aftr her interview, does she have any other options? Would appreciate replies, she's devastated..

Yes,the sole responsibility lies on the applicant to prove beyond doubt the relationship with the US citizen is genuine and not for immigration purpose.Documents submitted to NVC are evidence but you need to do more homeworks to prove your relationship.i was denied on k1 visa and the reason was my relationship was not genuine with my fiancée.We submitted many more evidences but for some reasons I was called to pick up my passport without the visa and I was issued the denial notice twice. When my fiancée contacted the US dept of consular affairs in WA they got back and said our visa was not denied but was refused. After talking to al lawyer, she advices to get married and applied again and this time for spouse visa and that what we did.It cost less time and money to change the route than appeal the decision of the consular.Consular officers are the president of US overseas and their decision is final but when you believe in the cause you are fighting there will be victory at the end...Good Luck

  11. Upon arriving to the States on an International Flight with a connecting flight is my Fiance required or instructed to follow through to immigration with his unopened Packet-4 , or is he able to stay inside the airport and follow through to his next terminal/gate(connecting flight)and then surrender the Packet-4 at his final destination?

Example: The Airlines/Flights leaving Mauritania only arrive at JFK (NY)or IAD (WA. D.C. Dulles) and his final destination is Raleigh. Will the Packet-4 be opened in JFK/ IAD or is it remained sealed until Raleigh, N.C.? I'm trying to get a better idea of the process and procedure. Thanks :)

    Hey,

Your husband will submit the brown envelop at his first Port Of Entry which is JFK.

I did submit my envelop at JFK and went out of the airport..visited Time Square and chill in NYC,i came back and boarded the flight to IAD then to ATL

NB:he can go out if he has a long waiting period for his connection.if he has limited time to connect he should proceed right away to the gate after the immigration. He can as for direction or let him print the airport plan if he can read the map.

  12. To everyone here on visa journey, to my parents, and most importantly to God, thank you for everything; for all the help and guidance. I am so excited that words just can't explain how I feel. Our journey is finally over. He had his interview today at 9am and although he waited 2 hours, his interview was great. I had to face many obstacles this whole year but I'm glad it's almost over and that my husband will soon be with me. Another chapter in my life will unfold and it's only going to get better. Again thanks to everyone who helped me and for those who are still waiting for there loved ones, hang in there. I am going to treat my self to a snowcone because this Texas weather ain't no joke yall! lol..

I will also have my husband submit a review because those are extremely helpful.

    Congratulation!!

This is just the beginning of the journey. But i agree you give yourself a treat for this victory. He will get here, wait for his green card, ssn, or aaply for social security, driver license, adjust status in the future, update your address anytime you relocate and so on....Till he becomes a citizen the journey continues..

    Congrats again and Regards

  13. Dear Visa Journey -

    thanks for a great forum

    I have a question

I received my greecard and employment authorization card in May 2011.

I only just noticed now that the employment authorization card expired July 2011!!!

I am a self employed real estate agent for a living. I am wondering was I supposed to renew this card or what is the procedure??

i dont want to get in trouble

    thanks for your advice

    Barry

    Hello,

For the best of my knowledge you Green Card should be your work permit as well. You might be issued authorization to work while on another visa status but the moment you become immediate relative(spouse of a US citizen) you will be granted legal permanent residence with the issuance of I-551 known as green card and it is valid for your resident permit and work permit.

IF you are in doubt call USCIS and talk to a person and they will explain it to you.

  14. hello, im pregnant women i want that my baby born in us to get his citizen immidiately ,my priority date willbe current within may 2013 ,my baby will born after that date my question is if i can apply for tourist visa or no and the reason is tha my baby born ther ,his father is green card holder and im waiting for f2a

    Hello,

So you want your baby to be born in US and be the first to be the USA citizen? Wonderful mom.

There is nothing wrong applying for visitor visa but in most cases the CO won't issue you the visa.you might be placed in AP that will take longer and you will end up having a Moroccan baby.

Be proud of where you are from and give birth to your baby there.

    All the best

  15. Friends.I recently filed form 130 for my wife march 2012.We are just waiting for the Approval. My question is can my wife also put in for the present visa lottery going on,will it cause any problem to the form 130 i filed.Because she is an intending immigrant.

    Hey,

She can applied anytime the DVL is on going...i did apply every year while i was in AP and waiting for a decision to be made on my case. It's called Lottery and everybody can apply and it won't impact her.If she plays and winn she can move too the States with her children of any age if she has any...but the spouse visa has a limit age of a child...

  16. Hi,

We have had our embassy interview and my fiance has her Visa already, but has not yet traveled to the U.S. (she will on Oct 20).

I am moving to a new house. Where do I need to update my address? I mean with what agencies, websites, etc? Does anyone know?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

You must inform USCIS within 7 days of your relocation.Go to the USCIS.GOV and register and create an account. You have to be sure you will be on the new address before you update it.USCIS will be the first government agency your spouse will be working with till he becomes citizen so it worth creating an account on their link and it's uscis.gov...look at it very well. It's the address you provided that will be used to send you all his immigration paperwork in the future

    Good Luck

  17. Hey,

Welcome to US you have to know by now this journey is all about waiting. That being said you have to wait for about 30 to 60 days to get your green card.they processed your card base on first comes first serves.i will suggest you register on uscis.gov and confirm your address online and any action taken on your file will be sent to your email and I will say you need that registration through out your adjustment of status or card renewal or citizenship.

    Goog Luck

  18. Some international student like you were are issued ssc for identification in a collee institution but that ssc is not valid to work. The denial of your fiancée visa is traced back to your history of holding a " fake document ".If you alter any government official material to your benefit it is considered fake and misrepresentation...

We all might understand you didn't do it but you are the one holding it.Being on a visitor visa and trying to seek employment in US is a violation of immigration acts but your case is not that worse...You could win the case if you have a good lawyer.Sorry you are going through this but just pray and you get your visa and don't let anybody mess with your official docs in the future

    Good luck

  19. If I recall, the Nija residence is the same as the visa sticker but with indefinite validity if you are married to a Nigerian.Since your visa is valid for entry you can travel on it but the immigration will be concerned on how long you plan staying and he might ask for your return itinary. If it is true your hubby acquire one for you already he can meet you at the airport and support your case if there is a problem.Just pray you meet somebody who is in good mood and he won't even look further but stamp your passport and welcome you into Nija.Safe trip to Africa my beloved country

  20. Hi,

In most cases the embassy will contact your fiancé if they receive the package from NVC and The packet contains the interview day and other instruction like where to take the Medicals and what forms you fill. The embassy schedules the interview date and you cannot expedite it buy you can cancel it if you are not ready. If the embassy has no backlog you will get a quick interview date scheduled but if they have more applicants ahead of you they schedule you in about 2 to 4 months.you have to wait to receive the packet from embassy before anything else.police report could be don but it does expire after 3 month and you go to Medicals at us embassy approved hospital so you just have to wait for a lit bit.this journey is a wait in bureaucratic bs

  21. Hello...

I went through the same situation, they denied my fiancé visa in 2009 and we got married in 2010 and applied for spouse visa.after my first spouse visa interview I was denied again and placed under AP which last more 6 months.my wife added me on her bank account and i was able to use her bank account in Africa and even got me tax payer identification number while I didn't get to US yet. They kept asking for more evidence of genuine relationship but obviously we have provided everything.i kept bugging the embassy,my wife contacted her congress men and they intervened but no much luck,my wife solicited the help from most free equal justice and immigration organization online and one day the embassy called me to bring my passport for my visa .i lived in another country so I have to pay a lot of dollars to get police report 4 times and went for 2nd interview which was like interogating a criminal in a small room before the visa was issued.Never give up.My family and friends sent support letters to us embassy,my wife, her daughter. and friends also sent many support letters to prove they know about our ongoing relationship. At the end we got what we fought for

    Good luck

  22. Hello. My Nigerian husband has the two year conditional green card and is waiting for his removal of conditions. He has been offered a great job abroad in Qatar for three years. He might be able to travel home to visit us every few months. My question is how much time does he need to.spend living in USA in order to maintain his residancy and ultimately gain American citizenship? How often should he fly home to.see.us? Can he take.the job in Qatar while waiting for his green card is still processsing? What will he need to travel back and forth to Qatar?

    Hello,

Dave&Rosa is right...But i will advice you address USCIS for help.Immigration laws is funny and you might not know for sure what exactly they said in the Acts...He can't not stay away for more than 12 months or else he would lose his status and if he can be traveling and visiting the family frequently that would be ok but could affect him in the future if he decide to apply for citizenship.Call USCIS...

  23. Hello Everyone,

When is likely for CR1 to get Social Security Number and Green Card upon arrival to the US?

A welcome to America should be in the mail in about 2 weeks of your arrival and your green cars will follow up in and 2 weeks so you will get in about a month.if you applied for the social security card alongside with your immigrant visa it should be in the mail about 2 weeks of entering the States.sometimes the ssn card doesn't come along and you will have to wait for your green card to apply for it personally. They don't accept the temporary I 551 stamp on the passport to process ssn and driver license .they do scan your actual green card to determine the authenticity.
