  1. So when you send the paperwork through CITIC first, you don't send your passport along with it? You send them two separate times? Could she send it with it if she wanted to?

The new blue slips say specifically "DO NOT" send passport unless you are asked to do so

  2. Hopefully to send you a little positive hope, we had a very similar situation almost exact. The only difference was we were dealing with I-134 instead. We sent it off and it seemed like only a few days after they received the paper work we got an approval notice email. I would say don't fret man, a lot of people say to prepare for the worst...and that's true, but the other half of that saying is hope for the best. So good luck!

  3. I was just saying that I had a similiar situation like you. But they said that my brother's wife (brother is the cosponsor) needs to fill out a i-864a form and write a letter as well. This was very unseen.

Have she received the visa in hand yet? How long did it all take?

Didnt take long at all, we mailed it off the following week and the week after the approval email came. Yesterday she just dropped the passport off at CITIC so we will see how long it takes to get the visa back

  4. That is so great !

When you write of 'mailing in' - do you mean arranging a drop off with CITIC bank office? OR is the IV Unit really writing to mail something off?

Woops, yes she will be dropping it off at the CITIC according to the email. :)

  5. Well this is unexpected but fantastic news, her visa was approved! I have to say I am astonished by how quickly this was resolved, I was just about to write an email inquiring if they had received our documents when BAM approval email comes. So happy and thanks for all the help to everyone! Now just have to mail her passport in and wait to get the visa in hand.

  6. whoa. she received instructions on how to submit stuff.

They not keep her passport? Uh Oh... She's in for a wait.

    What do the instructions say?

All she got was the standard sheet with a check mark next to I-134 cosponsor and my step-mothers name written in. It says at the top to submit documents through CGI stanley etc. No when she was checking out apparently the worker said she must have her passport and went to go retrieve it...I didnt think they would keep it there since you have one year to respond to a blue slip

I was just digging around and found info for other consulates and it seems like they submit the passport with the requested docs, but this slip doesnt say anything about it as far as I can tell

  7. bah.

I say 2 i-134s, one on the father, one on the mother.

show father's income on one, show mother's income on the other.

    but then !!!

prep a 3rd one, where both sign, combine all income.

tax transcripts already in hand, not need to send those.

I cannot second-guess what they want, really, but

if you prep in the fashion I just described, surely ONE of those meets their requirements.

I wish I had the answer for you, but I don't.

Thanks Darnell, I think that is what I will do along with a signed and notarized letter of support.

  8. i know the answer for CR-1/2, IR-1/2/5 visas, but that uses the I-864 and it's derivations.

I don't know the answer for the I-134 for guangzhou.

What did the IV unit tell her to do ?

She asked the help window and they said since they are married they both need to essentially "agree". The form she was given has my step mother name handwritten in and a check next to submit cosponsor I-134. The sticky part is...how can she correctly fill out that form since she is listed as a dependent on the one my dad filled out?

  9. I just took a look at the sheet, it is checked on the requiring co-sponsor section and is hand written in with my step-mothers name. I take it she either needs to jointly sign an I-134 with my father or submit one of her own?

  10. Thanks for the response, I did the same thing I sent over his joint tax transcripts for three years....How can I get one just for him?

you step mother does not need to sign i-134.

your father should get the original tax transcript. he can request tax transcript at local irs office. it is a same day service.

you should fedex it over there since fedex is much secure and reliable than post office mailing.

my situation was similar because my father was a co-sponsor and i sent in my father's joint tax transcripts.

  11. My fiancee had her interview today and apparently it went well except when it came to the co-sponsor. My father is the co-sponsor but since he is married and filed jointly they requested my step mother's information also. Is this is simple as sending over an I-134 signed by my step-mother?

  12. So with the new location now being confirmed; what about the interview letters that state the old address? My fiancee said she had heard some people receiving updated letters with the new address, and others have not received them. Would they give her any trouble at the entrance?

Edit; any trouble with the appointment letter stating the old address...sort of a gray area...if the date is correct and everything else just the address

  13. Hey ! That's great news ! Congratulations !

When you get a moment, please review the interview appointment letter, write here with the address to 'show up' for the interview? Thanks so much, and thanks in advance !

Well, it says the old address. I hope that is correct

Now are they going to email that or mail it....it has been a source of confusion for us.... along with the necessary documents for the medical.

  15. Isn't the instruction sheet. The cover letter is the one that says the consulate is ready to process your visa application now and with your name and case number on it.

The staff at the hospital asked to look at it when I had my medical exam.

Hmmm well we might have actually mailed that in...I wonder if they will take the email appointment printout

  16. Hey! i just saw your posts. you have an August 5th schedule date???!!! that means they've released some August dates. When she scheduled that date, how many August days did she see available? Just Aug 5th, or was there a lot of days available?

    Thanks! --- Clint & Hong

Not sure, I can ask when she wakes up ;P

  17. WHAT? Did you call them?

No, I did email them first but they said they hadn't received the p3 info...then later this morning I found out she had simply gone to the cgi stanley website and was able to book the date..after trying for over a week. It may have to do with processing the p3 and its possible that there was some confusion about the process...

BTW...the P3 was sent over a week ago, fee paid etc...the email was answered today, yesterday china time and the appt was scheduled same day

  18. Whats the cover letter...it isnt the instruction sheet is it? Because we sent that back.....

My advice is to wait for the P3, then sent back what they need. Because there is a form in it that you need to return (something can't be downloaded online), and a cover letter that you need to be allowed to take the medical exam.

The CGI Stanley site is really just for scheduling an interview and everhthing that happens after it. Technically you can schedule an interview with no problems now, but you also want your medical exam done at least two weeks before the interview, so the tricky thing is to get an intetview day not too early and also not too late. About paying the visa fee, your fiancee should be able to do it now, tell her to click choose a payment method at the paying fee page and she will know what to do. After paying you can see the available interview dates and schedule.

Emailing the consulate could find out if they have sent the P3 out. Even if you they tell you they already did, be prepared to wait for two weeks or so before getting it--I received the packet two weeks after being told it was sent... the same with two other people on VJ. But anyway, it's a shorter wait compared with what we went through. Good luck!
