I went to the social security office and I was told the immigration hasn't started processing mine yet and they would need approval from them before they can go ahead and it would take about 4wks to just get that approval.thnx

  4. Hi guys as u all know I arrived the united states yesterday and I'm loving it here so much but at the POE the immigration officer asked us to file a form i170 or 171,honestly was too excited to remember which one he said but he says I can look it up in USCIS website and he says we should file it at least 90days before our 2nd year anniversary which is on the 26th August 2013. Please any advice on what to do?how to start?do we need a lawyer for it? Ur answers are highly needed. Thnx

  5. There is such thing as newspaper name change in Nigeria but its usually useful for those previously married . They notify all members of the public,banks etc to tke note that " Mrs T . John" now wish to be addressed as "Mrs T. Paul" and all documents still remain valid. So she's Right bout the name change but I can't relate it to her case as its not necessary being that its her first marriage(unless it's not). I'm thinking u shud be prepared for that interview cos hey the CO is gonna throw u with the question of why u filled out "single" when u knew u were married! And that's not good! Anyways..GOODLUCK

    HERE IS THE LETTER FROM MY WIFE

    =========================================================================================================================

    To whom it may concern,

    I am Mrs ================ and I have petitioned for my spouse Mr ================== to immigrate to the United States from Nigeria. My husband had his interview at the US consulate in Lagos Nigeria on February 4th 2013. He has informed me that they did not issue him the visa we were anticipating and they are intending to return our petition to USCIS for possible revocation. My husband stated that he correctly answered every questions been asked. The consular officer did not inspect the abundant evidence we provided of our relationship and seemed to concentrate on finding fault in our evidence of commination.

    I have only been to Nigeria once, (01/01/2011 to 02/01/2011 ), when I married my spouse and stayed with him and his family for a month. I had intended to return during the latter part of 2012 but work constraints and my recently deceased fathers failing health caused financial and physical restrictions on my ability to travel. I am hoping you can assist me in getting a second interview in Lagos allowing for me to be in attendance before the petition is returned so that I can avoid the long period of waiting for reaffirmation of the petition. I do not want to be separated from my husband after having endured over a year apart already and he cannot stand not been with me soon as we have been apart so long due to circumstances stated

    I wish to thank you in advance for assisting me with this issue.

  9. Sister I would suggest u just let him be if he comes back to his senses he knows Wht to do. Men don't like being chased so jus let him be..u can call him up and talk bout other stuffs but don't mention the documents.Honestly don't knw how he would scale his interview if u guys don't talk much cos surely he would be asked the tiniest things bout u two.GOODLUCK!

  10. Was wondering if I'm gonna have issues with my ticket being purchased in the U.S. My husband is buying it through his travel agent over there in the U.S and is way cheaper than me buying it here in Nigeria but I'm worried if il be asked questions and also its a return ticket but the return would stop me at Brussels not Nigeria even though im Neva gonna make use of the return. The travel agent said she did it that way inorder to get it incredibly cheaper. So guys any advice? should we go ahead? Do they ask questions regarding tickets at the POE? Do I need to have my husband's credit card info handy? I asked him to give me time to ask around and he says that ticket won't be waiting for us if we don't pay. helpsmilie.gif
