  1. Hi VJ friends! Just like many of you I also received my application was sent to local office on feb 26 with no letter following that on the mail. When I sent an inquiry about my case they just basically reaffirmed what the website said. Just right now though I received an email saying “there are still reviewing your case and there are no updates. We last took action on your case on March 29,2018” so I Go back to check my status on the website and it still gives me that the case was transferred to local office 2/26” did anyone receive similar situation lately?

  2. Good Morning,

My husband came here under the k1 Visa in 2013 and we filed for his green card on January 2014. He received his condicional green card on June 18 2014. Las year September 2015 we had an argument that led to me calling the police and they had to arrest him for family assault. They also placed a no contact order. He was arrested but on his first court date I asked them to remoce the no contact order which they did. He got out under a bond and we worked thing out. We went to court and the prosecutor did not want to dismiss the case, they offered him time served 2weeks and a fine of 150. He was only in mail for one week and they said that was fine they would just waive the other week and for him to pay the fine. Out criminal attorney did not do much to help, she wanted to send the case to trial, however the prosecutor had pictures of the bruses I had. They also had my 911 recording as well as my police report, on which on both I stated that I did not want him in Jail, he had gone thru family violence when little and this led for the argument among us two to violence as well. He was charged with family assault Class A misdemeanor in texas. We are currently together happily than ever we are expecting our second child in July and all this case just has us worried. It is time to file for removal of conditions and we are willing to tell all the truth we are not going to hold any secrets. Our question is has anyone gone thru this and have had their I751 approved? He has no criminal récord other that what happened that night. He has gol credit since he came to the US and we have filed our taxes together. Any advice would really help.

P.S. I am the US citizen and the petinioner. He is the beneficiary.

We are supposed to file the 10 yrs LPR packet ny January. Last night we had a problem, he hit me and I have marks all over my face, police came and arrested him. I tild them I did not want to press charges but they told me they had to. What is the situation now with his LPR status. I do not want him deported, he needs professional help from psychologists and I do not want him deported. I want him to be here in the US. Will the domestic violence afftect his status?

  5. Hi everyone. We submitted our paperwork On Feb 3 they receieved it on Feb 7. We had our biometrics appointment on March 14th. And have not heard anything else since then. For Permanent residence is still in acceptance and for the EAD is still in Initial Review. Also, in his paperwork I had changed my last name to my husbands last name, but recently I had to change it back to my maiden name with social security because I had Scholarship problems because they could not find my last name as it used to be. Could this have affected anything? Also, should I be worried we have not heard anything yet? He arrived to the US with a K1 VISA. I see some other February filers are getting approved, we filed early February and nothing yet, should I call or contact my congressman, I mean it is still within the 3 month wait period.

I think the Ciudad Juarez one is ours!!! I called NVC last night and was told that they sent it JUNE 12 meaning they would get it on the next day! :) by the way were did you find this? I am so confused on how to track our case.

  9. @cari you do not need the I-864 for the visa. It clearly says it at this website:

    http://photos.state....packetk1may.pdf

same website you posted, the I-864 is required for the AOS it says it here...

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html

we are just trying to give you the right info. maybe another website or someone else is giving you false info but the same things Jay-Kay said are online as well. I know I may not know a lot and we are all in a learning process. And this is why Visa Journey is here. we are here to help each other out! and honestly I been here since before we started our journey and they have all been a great help and everything has gone really smooth! :) Just read over all the info maybe you got a little confused. I mean yes we need the I-864 but that's for AOS and that is when a joint sponsor is accepted meaning this is when they combine the incomes from the petitioner and the joint sponsor. as for the I134 a cosponsor is the one needed and at this point they do not combine the incomes.

*Please correct me if I am wrong Jay-Kay

  10. . I KNOW that we need the 125% for the AOS.my dad makes between 38000 and 40000 per year. And we do have the letter from employment. He also owns a house well we are paying it off. He has 1 vehicle fully paid off. He has a retirement plan at the bank with a pretty good amount of money. Can we present the house documents, the vehicle document, and the bank documents as long as the letter of employment and the tax transcript from last year even if he made 38800? I understand that it is better to make the 125% since this will be a requirement for AOS and me personally will have a job where I will be making 125% for both of us when AOS time comes around. So can my dad still sponsor him with an income of around 38000 and 40000? We have interview at Juarez and I know they are pretty laid off with the financial requirements. Can they accept the 100% for the fiancée visa?

this is the info I found...

Proof of Financial Support and Affidavit of Support Forms

During the visa interview, applicants will be required to present evidence to the Consular Officer that they will not become a public charge in the U.S. You may present evidence that you are able to financially support yourself or that your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is able to provide support. The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e).

The U.S. citizen fiancé(e) will need to submit Form I-864 to USCIS with the application for adjustment of status to that of legal permanent resident following the marriage.

Do the Same Income Requirements Apply to Form I-134 as Apply to Form I-864?

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

  11. ok this is my problem... I only made about 5000 last year and this year my income would be around 7000. My dad is going to be our cosponsor for my fiancé. For a family of 5 plus my fiancé meaning for a family of 6 the income has to be 39,487 per year. Last year he made about 38,800 and I made 5,000. I know they do not combine the income but if he has a letter stating that he he works apprx 54 hours a week which he does sometimes and he gets paid 12.81 per hour for 40 hours and 19.21 he other 14 hours a week that add to a total of $780 per week. multiplied that by 52 and you get 40,560. Will we be ok with that? Can my dad be our cosponsor?
