@Greenbaum sorry to tack on to this thread. It's been a while since I've been through the process. I'm helping a friend, case is at NVC and has a case number. Will they send notification or anything to the fiance abroad? What happens next? I've heard of a DS-160, who files that and when? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I'm helping a friend and it has been a while since I've been through the process and I'm sure some things have changed. The case (K-1) is currently at NVC and received a case number there. We already assembled the packet with the I-134 affidavit of support, plus additional evidence etc, and sent it overseas to the fiance. What I don't really remember is what's next. Will the fiance receive some kind of instruction on how to proceed? Doctor, etc. I also heard something about a Form DS-160, they didn't have that yet when we applied. Would the fiance overseas file that? Consulate is in Kathmandu. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Wir ihr ja schon von Facebook her mitbekommen habt, sind wir safe and sound in DC angekommen. Im Moment ist noch alles ungewohnt... aber wir versuchen unser bestes draus zu machen. Ich hatte gehofft, dass wir gleich in unsere Wohnung einziehen konnten, aber wir werden die naechsten 3 1/2 Wochen noch im Hotel festsitzen. Ich hatte so gehofft, wir koennten schon Moebel-Shoppen und Target unsicher machen...
Ich habe im Moment nicht viel Zeit, werde aber bald mehr schreiben... aber noch ne kurze Frage an alle, die einen extension stamp fuer ihr I-751 erhalten haben. Hat man euch auch die Greencard danach weggenommen? In Seattle haben sie es nicht gemacht, aber als ich gestern in Baltimore war haben sie mir den Stamp reingedrueckt aber die GC weggenommen. :S

Ja Stefanie, meinem Mann haben sie auch die GC weggenommen als er sich hier den Stamp reindrucken lassen hat. No worries, ist alles normal.
BTW ist schoen alle eure Updates zu lesen und die Bilder von euren kleinen zu sehen!!! Suess sind die alle! Hoffe euch geht es allen gut.

Our case wasn't to be seen online until about a week after biometrics, and after that there were no touches...still not.
We haven't received any touches since the original receipt date and today I just got a letter in the mail - we are approved as of 4/22!!!
Interesting that CSC doesn't 'waste' time by updating the online status. . .Wooohooo Congrats!!!

You get sent an email when the online status changes so I wouldn't even bother checking.
Mine was approved 2 and yours was 7 so wait like 5 more days.

Precisely - you did not have enough proof of co-mingled lives and so they want to interview you to make sure that your application is legit. The interview should be fairly easy as long as you have a legitimate relationship and can answer their questions. To me it doesn't make sense when people do not file taxes together - I will need to look at their tax situation to see why they can't - I was a tax professional for 20+ years and this argument to me is never correct especially when you know that this is a primary proof in this process; so an attempt to file taxes individually for a small financial gain (if it's really true) is not worth doing in my opinion. What does Married but filing separately mean - "Well we are married but are living separate lives!" Not worth it in my opinion. God Luck
Filing separately may not only be for financial gain, but also for the protection of the immigrant, who is supposed to file a sailing permit at the time they want to leave the country, showing that their taxes are all paid. Would you expect your spouse to be unable to travel out of the US until this tax debt is taken care of? Also citizenship cannot be attained with any tax debt on file. We filed separately and it wasn't an issue and we certainly do not live separate lives.

can anyone answer this pls where do I send the I 134 if needed to my fiance to the consulate or to immagration in vermont
You would send it to your fiance to bring to his interview. Although Casa usually doesn't request the I-134, there have been cases where they did, so it's good to have it just in case.

What does everyone's online status say? Mine still says case received and pending...
I guess we'll be in this thread now too...our case was approved 4/20 at CSC, approval letter received 4/25. The online status has not been updated nor have there been any touches. Good luck everybody hope you get something in the mail soon!!

All,
Up untill today i had not been able to check the status of my application online so this morning i just wanted to go through the ritual/motions of trying to check it again and boom!!!!!!!, it just showed that "current status card production ordered". Mind you i had never been able to check the status online.
Now some people are going to be mad here i know and i do sympathise with them, i do believe that applications should be processed on first come first serve basis, its only fair it should be done that way.
My timeline is as follows.
Application filed November 16 2008 to VSC
Application Recieved November 17 2008
NOA Dated November 19th 2008
Recieved Biometrics appointment Letter December 2 2008
Went for biometrics appointment December 18th 2008
CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED APRIL 22nd 2009
I wasnt expecting anything untill sometime in August/September, though i was being a little optimistic for late July/early August, this came out of the blue from no where. Fot those with timelines close to mine please be checking your status online regularly even if its now showing up now, it could someday inexplicably.

I had a nice surprise in the mailbox this afternoon. I finally received my Approval Notice for the I-751 I submitted a little over two months ago. It took CSC approximately 67 days to approve my petition. I never received an NOA1; just a biometrics letter and no touches on the USCIS website. Now just waiting for the Green Card. God luck to everyone still waiting for theirs.

Approval in the mail today greencard ordered to arrive in 60 days. No interview needed! Admission date- 12/2006 filed last year in Nov for adjustment of status, biometrics in Dec, and now approval!!! Yay for me, now where are the two seperate childrens approvals.........

We received our approval notice in mail today Decision date 4/22/09. I'm so happy to be finally done!!! Next stop - citizenship!!!

@Greenbaum Thank you so much for all the info! You're wonderful! My friends are going through Kathmandu, not Casa. My husband and I went through Casa. Is it the same for all consulates?
