  1. can you update more on why your visa was returned/denied. I know of one person a long time ago who had the petition returned but it was sent back and it was granted. That was a long time ago and the person is not on here anymore. You can also post your situation in the Sub-saharan African forum, there could be some on there that have more experience with Nigeria. Sometimes, they don't even send the petition back so you have to be on them about that so that you can deal with it when it comes through here.

  3. congrats Neya, If you have more pics than 30 that would help, also other options are text messge records, western union (if applicable), but it seems that you already have enough. Good luck and hope you get a quick interview!

  4. your k-3 will get to the embassy in about a week or two, then your hubby can go pick up the packets for his interview with a copy of the approval notice( NVC will let you know when it has been sent and you can also e-mail the embassy to ask if they have received it) then u can prepare for that. You don't have to worry about choosing because your k3 will get through way before your I-130. Your I-130 will be at NVC from anywhere between 6weeks-3 months depending on how fast you are responding to them then another couple of months before you get the I-130 interview. Don't cancel anything just let them both continue going. The general rule is if the I-130 gets to the embassy first it cancels the k-3 but that won't happen because the I-130 takes much longer. My suggestion is to pick up your packets for the k-3 as soon as that case gets there and your hubby will be here sooner. I also suggest to read some of the guides on here about the k-3 versus the I-130/CR1 and all this will make more sense.

  5. Fax/scan your copy of your NOA2 and the letter from NVC saying the case has been forwarded to the embassy to your hubby. Then he just takes those two forms with a form of identification and he goes to the embassy anytime, stands in the inquiry line and they will set up the interview for him there and give him an interview date. It could take hours so he should be prepared for that and should get there early.

  6. Lagos does not accept co-sponsors. My K3 was denied for this very reason and a previous K-1 for another VJ was denied as well. It doesn't matter if the co-sponsor is a relative or not. We tried to fight this with the senators/congress person and Lagos responded to them explaining that they only allow it for the I-130/CR-1. In the past they have. If there is a way for you to get a job before your interview then that would be the best route. Otherwise, u can take ur chance cos it is possible that you might get a CO that you can convince to allow the cosponsor. There just needs to be proof that you solely can sponsor your fiance like evidence of your sufficient yearly income for the last three years etc. They did tell us though that everything else is fine and when the I-130 comes through, they will grant the visa because that allows us to use a co-sponsor. If I had known this, I would have delayed/asked for an extension for the k3 interview because now I make enough money and don't even need a cosponsor but they are not willing to reopen the k3 case and they want us to wait for the I-130 which in lagos right now is taking 8-9months to get an interview date after case completion.

  7. Just to clarify. It is the I-130/CR-1/IR-1 that is taking the long time 8-9months as NVC schedules those interviews per slots given by lagos. For K-3/k-1, when ur petition gets to the embassy you can go pick up your packet and your interview will be in about 3-5months from the day that you pick up ur packets

  8. For proof of relationship, evidence u can take if applicable would include e-mails, text message records, proof of travel(tickets, boarding pass etc), lots of pictures of wedding/other pics with family/friends, money transfers, phone records(real important), correspondence between u and his family. I'm sure others can add to this if i missed anything.

  9. Lagos embassy says they have a high volume of applicants hence the delay but it doesn't make much sense that it seems they must be scheduling only a handful. As of right now the wait to get an interview is about 8-9 months. There is a november and december person that is yet to be scheduled. I really hope they speed things up cos its driving us crazy
