  1. This thread answered my question: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/405646-new-uscis-165-fee/

K1 as a non-immigrant visa is not supposed to pay the fee. So if you are K1, do not pay the fee.

I alreay paid it since Haiti Messenger made it sound like it was a must to leave the country, but requested a refund. Hopefully I get it. If not, lesson learned. As I do for everything else, I must research it before stupidly believing.

Just read it, Thanks for the clarification... they should def refund you your money, that's fraud

  2. On March 1, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

Is that good news? I guess my file has finally been touched...wondering how long this status go on for?

  3. Congrats! But for those reading this and new here, they are NOT adjucating a lot of jan. This is a rare instance and definitely not the norm. Right now it seems they are actually on late August with some July and Sept mixed in. Don't expect yours to also be done this fast, it's more likely to take 6, 7, 8 months. They were lucky and are the exceptions, not the rule.

Well I'm still waiting i filed Aug 9 nothing yet

  4. You go to DCPJ, Boulevard Toussaint Louverture, Route de l'Aeroport.

It takes 1 week, but in Haiti, they require that you have the letter from the Embassy, if you're doing it for immigration purposes. So you can't do it ahead of time :( But since the medical takes 1-3 weeks, you can do it that same day/week and cut on the waiting time!

Thanks for the info. we wanna make sure that we prepared, so we will get it done regardless they'll ask for it or it.

  5. That is a very long time with out getting the RFE. The notice of intent is a very important piece and it should have been detected missing.

First, it must be an original signature. A fax is not original. He must mail it to you. Preferably have him sign it in blue ink, so theres no doubt its original. (black ink can be rejected cause it could be a fax or scan or printout) you dont want additional delays or returned/rejected RFEs.

Second. Have you checked/called to make sure you didnt get an RFE yet and it was returned/failed to be delivered?

Get the notice of intent ready now. Because the RFE will be coming.

Thanks I will have him mail it to me asap.

I have called them numerous times, always the same answer they still processing July 2 filers blah blah blah.. still have about 50 more days til they get to me. the more i hear the more frustrated I get. I ain't calling these pples again. NO RFE yet

  6. :help: it's been 200 days so far, still no NOA2, But I have a feeling that before that they might send us an RFE in the initial I 129F package we sent, we did not include any letter of intent to marry. would my fiance have to write the letter, sign it and send it to me? or can he fax it to me? any other faster way we could do it?
  7. Hello Vjers, as I have mentioned, the embassy has finally asked for my w2's. Ferlay has submitted it and they say they will put it in his files and the consular officer will look at it later. I have a question and concern; question: What is the average amount of time does it take from this point forward? Is it going to be 5 months again? Now, my concern...in 2011, I made about 3000 less the required amount because I was in between jobs, but for 2012...I made over double that? Would they count that against me? I gave them my 2011&2012 w2

about a month or so, really shouldn't take longer than that.

  8. If you are unable to go before the interview, make sure you are at the interview (I think the last person that got denied was not present at the interview and did not visit often--it hasn't been a year since your last visit, so no prob.) If it's taking a long time for you to get your NOA2, then, maybe a quick visit will be nice! Good luck! :)

for me it's only been 3 months since I visited him. I will wait til March to decide if I will go in April or not. I'm up to almost 200 days since NOA1, hoping for an approval or rfe soon.

  9. I visited my fiancee last July, we spent 3 weeks together, then again I went November for his birthday, stayed for a week. Just wondering should I visit him again, cuz some people are getting denied because of not making many trips. I was hoping for an approval this month, projected that his interview would be in April or so. I def will be there. I plan on going for spring break cuz i miss him so much, should I wait until his interview?
